the thing about trans women is that anyone who isn't one can, at any moment, ideologically dump trans women and jump on the genocide bandwagon. they will, generally, face no social or material repercussions for doing so. the "genocide bandwagon" i mentioned earlier? that's 80%+ of the population who, consciously or otherwise, do not consider trans women to be people.
trans women can't do anything about this. if they try to argue back, they're framed as AMAB freaks wielding their male privilege by the people who are attacking them. it's an unwinnable situation because trans women, as a class, are not capable of oppressing the people who are ideologically dumping them. it's happening in droves in "AFAB queer spaces" by covert TERFs who are literally recruiting them. it's low key incredibly terrifying to see.
Human rights organizations, genocide scholars, and advocates warn that the United States is in the early stages of a genocidal process against transgender people. Experts point to an escalating wave of hostile state legislation, restrictions on gender-affirming care, and public rhetoric aimed at eradicating trans identity from public life.
there was a recent ruling (6 days ago as of my posting this) that states can exclude TRANS WOMEN AND GIRLS SPECIFICALLY from sports teams. this gives LEGAL PRECEDENCE for states to, specifically, discriminate against trans females (in this sense, meaning transsexual women and girls).
i can't write in third person about this anymore because this is terrifying.
we're being sent to men's prisons. those prairieland protestors, including two trans women, got sentenced to 556 total years in prison, essentially life sentences, for "left wing terrorism." in mens prisons we are systematically raped and murdered, including, often times, by the guards.
this shit with the TME qweerz is actively dangerous because its peeling off part of the overall trans community to be used to isolate us. it is an obvious ploy by TERFs to remove the few people who have generally been our allies so that we are more vulnerable. do you think these people don't have think tanks funding these things? they are trying to eliminate trans women from society. the president of the united states has explicitly said such.
if you haven't, read this wikipedia article. there is a concerted effort to funnel all of us into mens prisons where we will be tortured beyond civilian comprehension. please help us.

For anyone wondering, the PhD student's name is Myra Cheng.
Here's a link to an article about the study from the Stanford Report: link.
Across three preregistered studies, participants interacting with sycophantic AI became more convinced of their own rightness and less willing to repair relationships. Yet at the same time, participants rated sycophantic AI models as higher quality, more trustworthy, and more desirable for future use, which may explain why this behavior has persisted despite its harmful impacts.

Gracie the giraffe is described as having rounded ears. She went missing from a ranch in Real County.
im crying dude
Yeehaw yall. Gracie is on the run.
To answer some common questions in the tags:
1. How do you lose a Giraffe? She apparently scaled a cliff that served as part of the enclosure (which the other giraffes in the herd had shown no interest in climbing.)
2. Well it should be easier to find her, she's a whole ass giraffe? Yeah, you'd think, but Texas ranches are fuckin huge. The man has apparently hired a helicopter and several drones to aide the search, but no luck yet. She's been seen on some game cameras on the nearby ranches though. But she's sneaky.
3. Why does a random guy in Texas have a herd of giraffes? Because it's Texas and we have basically no exotic animal regulations. No really. If you have enough land out in the hill country, you can just own stuff. It's fuckin nuts.
im still laughing at this

What I feel people frequently forget about autistic special interests is that they aren't always information based. They may simply be visual or mental
Someone may have a special interest in a show, but instead of that meaning that they will talk about that show often, it may mean they watch that show extremely frequently.
Special interests are ways of regulating, not simply encyclopedias we have in our heads. Sometimes it's watching something frequently. Maybe only listening to one genre of music, maybe it's a collection, maybe it's an action. I'm tired of it only being seen as autistic people's personal encyclopedias
Happy pride month everyone :B
I love how every story about the DC-10 is like "it spontaneously disassembled in flight and then whatever was left of it exploded" except FedEx 705, where the copilot managed to fucking barrel roll it while having his skull conked in. This plane never works until the one time it works so well it breaks physics.
I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT WAS A DC-10
For anyone unfamiliar with this insane case, it was an attempted murder-suicide insurance fraud by hijacking (?!) where a deadheading flight engineer brought a guitar case full of weapons onto the plane in an attempt to kill the operating pilots during flight. The idea was that if he killed them with hammers and then died in the crash, the investigators wouldn't be able to tell the hammer wounds from the crash wounds and all three would be declared an accident (thus allowing him to ensure his kids recieved a hefty insurance payout). There are obviously a lot of flaws with this plan (ah yes, a guitar case with a spear gun in it and several hammers, a very normal thing to find in an aircraft crash site) but bizarrely one of the flaws was that FedEx employees are immune to hammers and the crew managed to fight him off without crashing the plane and everybody lived.
Hilariously the guy attempted to turn off the CVR before the flight so as to not leave any evidence but the flight engineer just turned it back on assuming he had forgotten it. Also the original crew that were going to fly that leg were swapped out because they had gone exactly one minute over their duty time limits. And according to the wikipedia page at least, it claims that the attacker's fear that he was going to be fired for a discrepancy in his flight hours wasn't even founded and that other colleagues said they wouldn't usually terminate an employee for something like that.
I'm assuming the guy was under a mass amount of stress from a recent divorce and potentially not being treated very well at FedEx, and he made some pretty stupid fucking decisions that ended three colleagues' careers (and willingly risked the lives of people oj the ground, too). But thankfully everybody escaped with their lives.
Wikipedia tells me that the DC-10 this happened on served until the end of 2022 (bro FedEx what the fuck) and at one point in 2022 it was diverted because of ladybugs..? Anyway, crazy shit, one more reason to view the DC-10 as an aircraft cursed by god
The rule could have heavy impacts towards trans people across society.
Last week, the Trump administration quietly released a sweeping new federal rule that would use funding threats to force institutions across the country to reject transgender people. The 400-page proposed regulation would codify the administration's anti-trans executive orders into binding federal policy, imposing a blanket prohibition on federal funds going toward "gender ideology"
The proposed rule, formally titled "Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance," rewrites the government-wide framework governing all federal grants across every agency. Among its most consequential provisions, it requires that before a federal grant recipient can receive money, the award must pass a "pre-issuance review" conducted by a political appointee—not a career expert or peer reviewer—to ensure it is "consistent with applicable law, Federal agency priorities, and the national interest." The regulation explicitly instructs these appointees to screen for "denial by the recipient of the sex binary in humans or the notion that sex is a chosen or mutable characteristic." [...] An institution that acknowledges transgender people exist—through its policies, its training, its healthcare, its bathroom access, its HR procedures, its name-change processes—could be deemed to "deny the sex binary" or to “support the notion that sex is mutable” and have its federal funding blocked.
Importantly, the gender ideology prohibition has no age limitation—hospitals could be targeted not just for providing care to minors but for providing gender-affirming care to adults, because prescribing hormone therapy to a transgender patient of any age could be deemed promoting the belief that "sex is a chosen or mutable characteristic."
THIS IS OPEN TO COMMENT UNTIL JULY 13, 2026
This is all very bad and horrible, but I want to be clear that it’s worse and more sweeping than just eliminating trans research.
This torches everything. And I do mean everything.
A very abbreviated list of its ramifications include (but are not limited to):
ending funding for ALL DEI related initiatives
allowing the government to terminate grants at any point for any reason
preventing researchers from publishing, going to conferences, and being part of academic societies
requiring that topics must support the president’s agenda.
What this means, and if anything I’m under selling it, is the death of science and research in America. It allows the government to restrict any topic they please at a whims notice, putting officials who have no background in the topic in charge of deciding funding continuity. It controls what gets researched and if/how researchers are allowed to share their discoveries. There are no books to burn if the government never allows them to be written. This is fascism plain and simple.
Please, if you only ever write one public comment, this is the one to do.
Bringing back this guide to writing an effective public comment. This gives you the basics you need to know, what you need to include, a basic outline you can follow, etc.
Public comments are not a vote, it is a chance for you to say "here is an issue with this law I think you need to address" and provide justification for legal challenges if it goes forward:
"Comments raise the bar that agencies have to meet when making a rule; “if an agency fails to adequately respond to significant, relevant comments in a final rule, members of the public may seek to challenge the rule in court on that basis and claim it could be struck down.ˮ"
But also, if possible, don't stop at writing a comment. Don't stop at calling your representatives. You should ideally be talking to people in your community about this and organizing resistance on-the-ground; there is a good chance people are already doing that even if you aren't hearing about it.
