Foo’s  voice  broke  through  Hermès’s  deep  focus  in  her  own  thoughts,   now  trying  to  process  what  the  hell  she  had  even  said.   almost  thinking  that  she  had  heard  wrong,   but  figured  that  she  wasn’t.   even  though  she  had  only  known  F.F.  for  a  short  amount  of  time,   literally  no  one  else  would  talk  about  the  concept  of  underwear  with  her  EXCEPT  for  her..

“   the  fuck’s  w–   no,  you  can’t  just  take  ‘em  off,   Foo!!   the  hell?!   ”     though  sounding  annoyed,   she  liked  talking  to  her  about  stupid  stuff  like  this.   it  lightened  the  mood,   distracting  from  the  fact  that  they  were  basically  forced  to  live  in  a  glorified  metal  box.     “   everyone's  gotta  wear  underwear,   hell,   i’m  wearin’  ‘em.   how  can  you  even  feel  ‘em  there?   are  you  wearin’  em  wrong  or  some  shit?   ”

  ❛   why not ⁇   ❜   tray drops onto the counter with a loud clank ,   speckles of water flying from her cup and splashing nearby inmates who’d dared to get so close .   grabbed by the scruff of her overalls ,  she takes little notice of the snarling girl in her face ,   and instead proceeds to fill up that very same woman’s tray with nearby food .   foo doesn’t break eye contact with hermes ,   as if the events playing around her were responded solely by muscle memory .   shocked and appalled as the food piles up without mercy ,   the aggressive inmate finally releases her hold and scoots away .  the stand takes this time to lick the droplets still dripping down her own hand .   

  ❛   i dunno ,   but it’s really tight ‼   it’s doing nothing to secure anything ,   serious ‼   ❜  nearby inmates proceed to abandon their trays in favour of removing themselves from the ongoing conversation they so happened to be listening in on .  ❛   hermes ,   hermes ,   can you check for me ,   can you ⁇   what do yours look like ⁇   cause i bet yours don’t go this far up your a-------   ❜

    it wasn’t that he didn’t think she was capable of overcoming an adversity, but it wasn’t just that she was one of the competitors that put her in a disadvantage. while some scattered brains mistook her for someone like them, to dio it had been clear from the start & was sure that was the case for many others. women were bound to be looked down or frowned upon, especially in a race that was dominated by men. it added new dangers to someone like her, who had become a target to other competitors even without her knowledge. if he had been anything less than noble… it made him sick to his stomach the kind of mental image that thought brought him.

       head is shaken to show that wasn’t exactly what he meant. it was one thing to underestimate her, but other to blindly believe that she couldn’t fall a victim of bad intentions. he scooted closer, leaning forward to invade her personal space yet again. the intensity of his eyes shining through with the light left by the fire.

      “—men can feel entitled to what it’s not theirs. this isn’t about getting killed or robbed.” he explains, allowing his head to tilt the side & allow a few strands of gold fall over his shoulder. “i watched my mother receive that kind of treatment. i’ve seen the depravity of men & their lust. it’s why i’m warning you.”

  for whosoever lookethon a woman to    lust   after her hath committed adultery with her   already in his heart   .   words often spoken in verse ,   mathew’s written prophets and laws that date the six antitheses come clear to mind .   how many times had she traced those passages .   even with taken vows ,   a woman hidden securely behind    convent   walls ,   hot pants was not blind to the transgression of men ,   and the added risks this journey could hold .   she rode solo ,   never allowing such opportunity to arise ,   whether life threatening or otherwise uncomfortable circumstances to prevail .   she had accepted all potential danger in the quest for the holy corpse parts .   

  ❛   that is a terrible thing  ...   ❜     for anyone to receive such vile treatment left a sour taste in her mouth .   a mother who must have done everything in her power to keep her child safe .   from his open fondness of the woman ,   she seemed very much the type to do just that .  sorrow is held within her hardened gaze ,   but as she watches him intently she muses over the warnings given .   many who approached seemed to mistake her for a man ,   a circumstance which she didn’t necessarily mind .   it made her job easier without the added burden .   

  ❛   the concern is appreciated ,   however .   ❜   mirroring his actions ,   chin dips as a calm air washes over her once more .    ❛    i’m not the type one can so easily approach .   even if they tried ,   i’d punish them lawfully and just .   ❜   the rope within her carrier pouch spoken volumes of that .    ❛   as it stands ,   you seem to be that rare exception .   i wasn’t lying when i said i’d put my trust in you .    ❜

his lips shut firmly into a tight frown ,   leaning further into the palm of his hand as he inspects the cookie with a critical gaze .      ❛      that’s a rather bias opinion given it’s your stand .   what ingredients did it swallow up ？   you could have put too much flour in it regardless of it’s abilities .   what makes this safer then if you baked it yourself ？     ❜      while interesting ,   he wouldn’t so easily trust in something he didn’t quite understand himself .   besides ,   fugo knew little about her baking skills as it was ,   so whether her stand could produce the product or not wasn’t really the issue  ...  he also didn’t like how it had been    made   in the first place .   it was pretty gross .      ❛     that can’t be considered hygienic.     ❜

he’d had his back against the wall many times ,   but to be taken in such literal sense had surprised even him .   giorno ,   who held himself so poise and distant ,   now invading his space without hesitation .   lips crashed against his ,   words immediately muffled and permanently silenced .   what had he been saying anyway  ⁇   it mustn’t have been important ,   as it had been so quick to leave his train of thought ,   instead forced to focus on the sudden kiss aimed his way .   mista was more then willing to accept that fact .   never the type to care about status ,   ignorant to giorno’s don title and his own position as the man’s bodyguard .   though it twitches a smile at his lips all the same .

fugo’s mug is empty, and he’s watching the bottom of his cup as if it was going to magically fill itself. that’d be a decent stand ability. “…are you telling me that you think the moon is fake?” that the moon landing didn’t happen? that the apollo 11 mission was just filmed from hollyood’s floor. where’s the waiter? he needs some decent energy to fully invest in this. 

fugo quickly throws a counter. “do you think werewolves are real?”

he leans back in his seat .   ❛     of course ‼   i’ve seen it before you know .   some guy on the street was passed out cold and completely naked ,   and he was really hairy too .   when i kicked him ,   he ran like a complete weirdo .   those were huge red flags .     ❜     and yet ,   he remains confident in his previous theory .   man ,   he really wanted some cheese cake .   playing with the culturally was only making him hungrier .     ❛     but see ,   i think it’s an excuse .   think about this ,   what if werewolves have    complete  control    of when they transform and go around killing those helpless people on the street anyway .   they just blame the moon so they can get a better plea bargain .   so my theory about the moon still stands .     ❜

the power and privilege that came with being in the l' unità speciale was something that gave him both pride and stability in his everyday life .   but even with that known comfort and status ,   the idea of meeting with the other members left a foul taste in his mouth .   for all he was ,   it was discomforting to be in the presence of someone like cioccolata .   his demeanour is one of unease ,   circular eyes finally drifting towards his   reluctant   acquaintance .     ❛     what ⁇     ❜     low spoken ,   voice rough and scratchy ,   a rare occurrence of vocalising those pestering thoughts .   it was unnerving .   he didn’t like being watched as intently as the other had been doing .
