October, 1889
Josef and Clara Bachmeier, both twenty, have married after years of being sweethearts.
I’ve been thinking-- I technically have two decades saves at the moment. Obviously the Scotts, but before I started this blog and the Scott legacy I was playing a family called the Bachmeiers-- they were immigrants from Germany so I gave them a very German last name-- and their stories ran away from me in some of the best possible ways. It’ll take some extra work on my part to get photos, as the Bachmeier save is in the 1930s and I will have to effectively go back and de-age/resurrect sims, but I absolutely adore them and I might bring them onto this blog.
I think what I’ll do is have the Scott legacy be more gameplay-focused, although I will still post updates on them. The Bachmeiers, on the other hand, will be much more story-oriented. I think I’ll restart the Bachmeiers from the 1890s, get them caught up to where the Scotts are currently, and have the two families progress through the 20th century together.
I’m in love with this screenshot I took of a sunset in Henford-on-BagleyÂ
Some Sims I made, loosely based off of the beautiful “life stages of our sun” art by feefal! It’s not perfect but it kept me occupied on a Sunday afternoon, and I think they look kinda neat

Margaret had a good first day at school. Maybe she was the one who put the toad in the teacher’s chair, but no one would ever guess it was her.
Oliver and Violet had thought that Arthur was mischievous... and then Margaret came along.

Benjamin’s Journal, 1905
Mother gave me this journal for my thirteenth birthday. She’s almost as sentimental as I am; I’m taller than her now and I think it makes her sad.Â
She also encourages me to write; I recently showed her one of the stories I’ve been working on and she quite likes it. Father agreed, and gave me my other birthday present, a typewriter. I'm still learning how to use it, but I do think it will help make my writing faster once I’ve mastered it.

After many years as the family’s loyal and loving companion, Maggie has passed away.
I’ve literally been spending so much time just gleefully downloading all of the adorable CC for little girls in the 1900s since Margaret’s about to become a childÂ

Arthur’s getting bigger by the day. He’s definitely much more of an extrovert then his older brother ever was; while Benjamin is quiet and prefers to read and tend to the garden in solitude, Arthur is constantly (and often loudly) begging for attention from his family.

Benjamin has become quite the bookworm lately. He also enjoys writing little short stories in his journal.
Just wanted to let everyone know that I’m back; something came up with my family so I decided to take a break for a bit. I’m also heading to uni soon so I won’t be able to post quite as often. I also decided to adjust my queue a little bit so posts will be less frequent anyway. The Scotts are still alive and well, and I do plan on continuing their story.
It's the morning of his first ever day of school; Benjamin wakes up early, simultaneously excited and anxious. He's just thankful he managed to get sleep at all; there’d been an awful lot of noise last night, between Mother calling for help and Father running to get the midwife. At five-and-a-half, Ben didn’t really understand what was happening, but he did hope that his mother would be alright.Â
As he heads towards the stairs, planning on feeding the chickens like he does every morning, he hears an odd cooing noise coming from his parents’ room. Curiosity provoked, he tiptoes inside, to find that the cradle Papa had first carved for him had a new occupant.Â
That’s right! Hadn’t Mother said there was going to be a baby? A little brother or sister on the way, coming any day now? He cautiously pokes a hand inside, to feel the baby squeeze his finger.Â
It’s not going to be easy to pay attention to lessons today.
A very warm welcome to Arthur Paul Scott!
Autumn, 1897
Benjamin is preparing to enter his first year of school. Spending all day indoors sitting still sounds painfully boring, but he is excited to learn about “shoes and ships and sealing wax, and cabbages and kings.”
Violet’s Journal, 1894
The farm is such a lovely place to raise a child; Ben loves to play with the chickens and run around in the orchard with Maggie. However, I do think he’ll need some friends that aren’t animals eventually.Â
