Here's the entirety of my oc lore of Marie Northwest. Also I may post fanon content of my own oc (I know that sounds ridiculous but bear with me) basically meaning some posts won't be canon to the oc lore but don't worry I'll clarify in each post!

Prologue(ish): Marie's mother was a detective who was investigating the Bill Cipher cult, she was manipulated by Marie's father who also had to sometimes sabotage her investigations due to having known each other already, she was manipulated by him often and even manipulated to marry him but she went missing when she found out too much while Marie was still a baby and Marie's brother was a child. Marie's father knew many people so he had paid people to make her mother go missing due to the family's previous generation being in the cult and him being affiliated with Bill before (which explains the Bill tapestry in the Northwest manor). Also Marie was often neglected by her father while he favored her brother (Preston's father) especially due to her polycoria and his deep rooted sexism. She also used to be forced into beauty pageants in hopes of scoring her reputation and appearance up to make up for everyone being disgusted of her eye. There were often times that she were physically abused as well, and locked into a dark room as a punishment, this started her fear of the dark.
Marie Northwest is the great aunt of Pacifica Northwest. She ran away to study at B.M.U. after denying her arranged marriage to a wealthly man named Eugene Silverham (at first she thought she finally found someone who liked her eyes but the only person that did, that being Eugene, was just weirdly obsessed with it) she's kicked out of the family and is said to not come home unless she comes back in a prestigious career since she didn't want to marry or else all her history is erased from the family (they erase it anyway because it was too much of a scandal to people of their class). Using her left over finances after being cut off from her family, she studies there and meets Stanford Pines.
An academic rivalry sparks between them when a student gets in between them in order to rise to the top as best academic student.
They later discovered who was getting in between them and began to develop as acquaintances which later became friendship. Marie had switched her major from nursing to Psychology after developing as a person as Stanford Pines also realized his love for the unusual. Marie offered up a trip to her home town of Gravity Falls to begin his research and he enthusiastically accepted. She initially stayed in Stanford's hideout in the forest (the one where the Shapeshifter is found) to avoid her family (later she would stay in a spare room in his house as the two grew closer). After giving him a tour, she felt ultimately useless and strived to find mysteries so the two could spend time together. Sneaking back into the manor while avoiding her family, she discovered a book on an entity that served as a fountain of knowledge in her late mother's study. She excitedly gave it to Stanford which led him to finding the cave with the paintings of Bill.
Bill tries to manipulate Stanford and distance him from Fiddleford and Marie, who were trying to persuade him to leave Bill after they realized how dangerous he was. Marie still stays after Fiddleford leaves, convinced that she could still salvage the situation. However, since Stanford was starting to break free of Bill's manipulation, he tried using other ways to drive people away from Stanford such as telling Marie the truth about her mother while he was possessing him. He tells Marie that Stanford knew Bill was responsible for her mother's death which led to a fight between them and then an argument with Ford and all the stress and Bill's manipulation catches up to Stanford and leads to him outbursting on Marie and kicking her out of the project.
She leaves when Fiddleford calls her to his house, when she has her back turned he uses the memory gun on her. Since after many calls with her trying to convince her to leave due to empathizing with her situation and his increasing anxiousness with her, he took it upon himself to erase all her memories of Stanford. In her memory loss coma and after meeting with the personification of her memories of Stanford (which basically looked like Stanford was there), she realized she loved Stanford only seconds before bidding her final farewell to him and she lost her memories of him entirely.
Since Stanford was a bit significant to her development of being a better person (the other part that helped was simply just her maturing), she partly reverted back to her rude self. At some point Stanley gets her to help him with the portal after seeing her in Stanford's journals, (they also became friends and Marie always felt this vague attachment to him, not knowing that it was because Stanley reminding he of Stanford due to having her memories erased). Since Marie was back to her rude self she helped him in return in hopes of bringing back her reputation for her family's approval again (since she forgot she doesn't care about it anymore). At some point Stanley felt kinda useless as she worked on the portal on her own and bugged her to teach him some things to help (explaining the science books as well as his basic knowledge of sciences such as that body swap episode where he talks about the pituitary gland) and he also helped in stealing valuable material for the portal. However she quit when she began realizing how dangerous the portal was with each warning on each page they studied and how they got closer to almost dying with each step.
Marie then ends up marrying her fiance that she was arranged to years ago after returning to her family after her memory loss. They divorce years after Weirdmageddon and eventually matured into a better person.
Do Marie and Stanford end up together despite her memory loss? That's up to you! But I will say that Marie would fall for him again even if she doesn't remember she fell for him before <3.
