Ponyboy would’ve killed himself had it not been for Darry, soda, and two-bit.

No I’m serious. Looking back on the book you can clearly see just how bad mentally he was doing after the death of Johnny.

He was completely delusional and kept trying to convince himself that Johnny wasn’t dead. Going so far as to tell other people, Randy, that Johnny wasn’t dead and he was actually the one who killed Bob.

Ponyboys mental health took a nose dive after Johnnys death and i genuinely believe he would have killed himself had his family and friends not been there. In the movie Two-bit and Ponyboy hang out all day while his brothers are at work. Making it impossible for him to kill/hurt himself. When two-bit isn’t around, it’s Darry and soda keeping an eye on him.

Ponyboy famously said “why couldn’t dally take it, but I could”

You couldn’t take it Ponyboy. You couldn’t, but you had no way of being able to actually do anything about it. The Curtis gang accidentally saved his life.

Ponyboy Curtis would’ve ended up dead and I stand by that.

i’ve talked about this before but omg this is just so sick and twisted. darry reaching for soda is just so sad like he always acts strong in front of his brothers and even tho this is a moment where he’s breaking in front of soda, darry REACHING for soda and showing that he really needs his support in this moment is just heart breaking.

thoughts for the thursday evening show (8/7)

i was sitting in A108!

sequoiia!dally, victor!soda, dre!steve, varvar!brill

* the entire show was so tender??? they were speaking so gently with one another all throughout act 1

* SEQUOIIA DALLY THAT IS ALL! he approached the role with a goofiness toward PB and johnny, but is also so protective??? he absolutely commanded that stage

* daryl put on dally’s jacket at the top of GGAH and was dancing by the car in it

* this was the first time i ever saw victor soda and he was so so fantastic

* sequoiia pulled out the hershey bar upside down and kept wiggling it around until he gave it to johnny. this entire scene was so heartbreaking. sky cried out “dally!” so desperately when trying to get him to stop going inside

* the ENTIRE drive in was so fantastic. the energy was through the roof. “let her speak for herself” was so hilarious

* side note, dan on the car during this scene started yawning and it felt like it went on for literally 30 seconds (not at the slow mo part yet either)

* in the concessions line, mel was sitting on the concession booth and put out her arms for varvar to hug her. the second he did, she started kicking her feet super super fast (my bevbrill heart)

* “it was the first time in my life anyone actually listened to me like that” brody made DEAD eye contact with me (who is dressed as ponyboy) and i started sobbing

* marcia saying im sorry to pony SEVERAL times before trip dragged her away

* victor’s deadpan “call the feds” SENT ME

* run run brother was absolutely insane

* i can prepare myself mentally but i am never ever ready to see two-bit get burnt in JFT and bev was out for BLOOD that night

* death’s at my door end hug hurts so bad

* the entire dally x darry scene was so painful. when sequoiia said “i know i don’t look like you” he EYED brent up and down. i got full body chills from the delivery and the implication

* throwing in the towel.

* the rumble was so insane to be in the front row again. i love getting to hear their ad libs to one another. one of my fav’s was victor’s “i bet you like that” to davis

* cole’s head was literally IN my lap when he rolls off the stage

* little brother. holy cow. i don’t think i’ve ever cried harder at that song. from the beginning to the end it was so emotional. sequoiia was made to play dallas winston

* the dinner scene is always so painful. brent’s crying had an extra kick today

* open sobbing during the finale. it was just so SO good

The Avengers 2012 era was the best time ever in the fandom

Thor loves pop tarts, Clint lived in the vents, Bruce and Tony did science together, Steve was the mom friend of the team and did art in his free time, Natasha was cool aunt of the team, Loki was there too and a bunch of other characters like Peter, Sam, Bucky, Vision and Wanda all lived in the Avengers tower together

It was a much simpler time where everyone in the fandom was chill and having fun together
