The way they’ve admitted to making out multiple times…Ville’s at-the-time gf said on Radio Bam at some point that they’d hooked up and neither of them denied it lmao Bam is the GAYEST
I can’t get this scene out of my head, so here it goes:
“Andrew! You.. I told you he was just a pain!” You fuss. “Oh my god..” You rub your face as you pace your bedroom floor. Your boyfriend watches you from the edge of the bed, posture straight and hands resting on his lap as you now have to rush to get ready for work because your coworker David was a no call/no show.
Your own relief was Pope assuring you he was still breathing!
His expression is a bit soft as he looks up at you. Like a kid being caught. It’s clear though that he doesn’t feel bad for the act, he feels bad that you’re now stressed.
“He’ll still be able to walk..” Pope says gruffly. Like that should help. You stare at him for a moment too long. What the hell do you say to that?!
“He should’ve never been.. You should’ve never.. I..” You pause finally to just breathe. “I can’t.. I have to…” You sigh and move to get dressed in your diner uniform.
You couldn’t handle this all right now.
He watches you get dressed, his face still somber but not ashamed. He doesn't try to stop you or argue further. Instead, he waits for you to be dressed.
When you sit next to him to put your sneakers on, he finally turns to face you, hesitation in his eyes. “Don’t… Don’t be scared of me..” He says gently.
It makes you slow your movements just a bit. You frown at his soft brown eyes. They resemble a puppy. It’s like in his own twisted up way, he thought he was doing something.. Good...
“Andrew, I…” You mumble. When you came home last night complaining about your new asshole coworker, you didn’t think it’d result in this. “I have work…” You whisper finally, landing on that. You needed a minute. But you still place a hand on his to show you’re not scared of him. Just shocked.
"I'll drive you."
He doesn't ask.
He tells.
It’s his way of making things right. An act of service. Pope was real big on that. You shake your head as you stand up from the bed, fixing your skirt.
“I can drive myself..” You try gently, still tired. This was supposed to be your day off.
"I know." He says, voice soft but firm. "But I'm driving you." He says, already moving to grab your jacket and his own. You open your mouth, but he looks at you.
“You're upset. You shouldn't drive upset." He says. Your shoulders slump a bit as you eye your boyfriend before giving in..

If Pope had things his way, he’d fully be taking care of you.
But you didn’t mind working at Sal’s diner. He was a fair boss. A sweet old man who looked out for you. He’d recently hired on David to work as an onsite manager and extra hand for you and a few of the other girls.
But yesterday, he’d made a few snide remarks about you moving at a snails pace, and it had irked you bad. You complained from across the kitchen counter to Pope last night. You didn’t think it’d result in this.
But.. Now you know.
The drive to the diner is quiet. You’re a bit deep in thought and Pope drives, but you can see him looking at you every once and awhile from the corner of your eye. It’s like he’s trying to read your thoughts.
He pulls up to the diner soon enough though, and puts the car in park. Before you can get out of the car, you feel his hand gently touch yours, silently stopping you. You look back at him and watch as he leans a bit closer, obviously wanting a goodbye kiss. You gently turn your head at the last moment..
He grumbles quietly at that, head resting against your temple. He pulls back only slightly to grab your chin with his thumb and index finger, turning your head back towards him so you have no choice but to look him in the eye. His expression is soft now. A softness that only you can see. "Don't be mad at me..” He whispers. “I did it for you.” He tries gently. You hum.
“I wanted to complain to my boyfriend. You listening would’ve been enough.” You say. You and Pope are only a month in. You’re still trying to teach him that you don’t expect much from this relationship.
Just him.
He sighs at that but nods, as if understanding. Deep down, you know this won’t be the last time you two have this conversation. “Good.” You mumble anyways.
He tries leaning in again, and you again turn your face a bit. “You did something bad. You don’t get a kiss today…” You whisper. You had to do something to get it through to him.
He freezes at that, his fingers press a bit against your jaw. Never enough to hurt you though. He stares at you. Your refusal obviously not sitting right with him.
He gets a stone look on his face when he sees you’re serious. He pulls back completely, releasing your chin. “Fine. I'll see you after your shift." His tone is clipped, business-like. His arms cross a bit as he stares straight forward. It makes you smirk without meaning to.
You know what this is.
“Don’t throw a tantrum…” You say softly with an amused shake of your head as you watch him.
His jaw twinges slightly. He looks anywhere but you. "I'm not throwing a tantrum." He mutters defensively.
“Make better choices and you get kisses.” You state simply, like the rule is only fair.
He finally looks back at you, the words sinking in. He hates being denied your affection. He craves more than anything. “Make better choices." He mutters like that’s ridiculous.
“Yes. Make better choices.” You state, showing you’re gonna stand beside this.
"I did..” He defends.
“How?!” You ask in actual astonishment. There’s a brief pause as Pope thinks. “I didn't hurt him permanently." He points out finally. It's a fair point that’s bordering on a pout..
“You hurt him..” You begin slowly. “For no reason!” You say as if you’re trying to get it to click. “He wasn’t trying to hurt or threaten me, Andrew. So hurting him was a bad choice..” You say certainly.
He stays silent, his eyes narrow as he processes your logic. You know it challenges his entire worldview.
Preemptive violence is protection to a man like Pope.
He finally looks back at you, a soft hand going to your knee as he watches you. "He made you upset.." He finally says, voice low and slightly gruff. “That's a threat. To me." He points out gently. It’s a simple line of thinking to him. One that makes you soften as you watch him from the passenger seat, arms crossed and knee resting easy against his palm.
“He did..” You agree finally. “But!” You add. “I would’ve been fine because I was going home to rant about it with the man that I love..” You continue softly.
Something flickers in his eyes at that. They brighten. As if he’s received a reward. The look makes you blush as you try shaking your head at him, realizing you just said that for the first time…
"Say it again…” He murmurs, his voice suddenly quiet, lips twitching in an almost smile. His hand reaches for yours.
You playfully and bashfully roll your eyes. “No. I shouldn’t.” You state, trying to stay strong and ignore those amazing eyes..
“Being denied kisses is one thing, Y/N. But this?“ He mutters as he shakes his head as if he’s in disbelief at your cruelty. You try and bite back a laugh.
“Come on. One more time." He whispers. His thumb strokes your hand, his eyes fixed on you with hope. "I'll make better choices..” He tries quietly, hoping that’ll sweeten you up.
You playfully roll your eyes at that. You hide your sheepish smile from him before turning to fully face him.
“Fine…” You mutter in a playful begrudging tone, before gently grabbing his face with both hands. “I love you, Andrew…” You whisper sweetly. He smiles at that.
“Now, kiss..” He says quietly, making you laugh.
“No! No, pushing your luck!” You playfully fuss with him as he starts to tug you closer to him, playfully bickering with you for one kiss..
