THE LADY OF STARLIGHT.
As the second eldest, Tia had always wondered what her future might hold -- she did not doubt an arranged marriage with one of the higher ranked lords or perhaps even a lord from Hybern, but she did not expect the magic to choose her as High Lady of Starlight over her elder sibling. The crown should have been theirs from the start. Despite the Silver Flame that had manifested in her heart, that coursed through her veins, she didn't believe she was special enough. Didn't believe she was worthy enough.
But, magic chose.
The first thing she did was to seek forgiveness from her elder sibling, her other siblings as well, but she found no true warmth in their eyes as they've accepted it. They hated her, she thought -- and that thought haunted her days and her nights. Warding the Twilight Isles further from perception had been an obsession of sorts. While the wards were not required to be done nightly ( only once, at the crowning of the High Liege ), she couldn't let it go.
And she had proven herself wise for it.
When the wards were shattered by the blight, Tia nearly collapsed with panic and despair. To see the Twilight Isles -- nay, the Starlight court -- come to ruin so swiftly after her crowning ( not even three years! ) ... it had been a telling sign to some.
Riddled with fear, she ordered her court to vacate the Twilight Isles in search of answers -- while she had not mastered the Silver Flame in her veins, she knew the wards should not have shattered so easily on their own. Something else entirely was behind it. Perhaps even someone -- and she turned a doubtful eye to those closest to her -- her family. Where gentleness once reigned, doubt and caution followed.
Perhaps it was Cauldron's mercy that they've all forgotten who they were the moment they've stepped foot on Prythian mainland --
returning among the Eight Courts with memories of the court of Starlight wiped clean from their minds.
Including her own.
-----
This curse...
As a daughter of the "king" of merchants, Tia had grown up wanting for nothing. Surrounded by her family, whom she adores to bits and pieces, she desired for nothing much more than that, either. She is happy -- happy and content and in utter weightless bliss.
No crown dangling over her head.
No court.
No betrayal.
And should this curse upon the lands shatter...
So will her heart.
