Healing Love: Understanding Saturnās Role in Relationships
Whenever a client contacts me and wants to discuss disappointments in love and relationships, I know they will likely have Neptune or Saturn connected to the 7thĀ house or personal planets. Whereas Neptune disappointment tends to stem from self-deception; the sorrow of Saturn is often rooted in childhood programming, early first hurts, the misconception that love must be earned and/or limiting beliefs that the person themselves is somehow unworthy or undeserving of affection.
It is important to pull back the layers of early childhood programming and wounding in order for the person with these aspects to welcome in the love they truly deserve.
This article applies to those that have the following.
Saturn in the 7thĀ house
Venus placed in Capricorn.
Venus placed in the 10thĀ house.
The descendant placed in Capricorn.
Saturn square, opposite or conjoining Venus
Saturn square, opposite or conjoining the ruler of the 7thĀ house.
Early Childhood
It is often the case with these placements that love was not easily felt in the childhood home, perhaps you were raised in an environment where you felt love and appreciation had to be earned. For example, if you came home with good grades on a report card you were celebrated but if you tried your best on a test and came home with a C- you were left feeling like you were somehow not good enough. It is important that we raise children to know their worthiness is inherent and not based on external accolades. We are all born worthy, and our worth is not dependent, nor should it be measured by external barometers.
If this was not your personal story it may be that your early home environment was restricted or reserved, perhaps you were raised in an environment where love was not freely expressed it was measured, if expressed at all.
Early Imprints
Early imprints like the ones mentioned above can be carried with us our entire lives until we become conscious of them and work on peeling back the layers of early childhood programming. Our limiting beliefs and core wounding are formed prior to us reaching the age of 7. I want you to understand that this does not necessarily mean your parents were bad or your home environment was awful ā though it certainly could have been but it also can suggest Ā a parental landscape that lacked the ability to care for you in the way that you needed.
Growing Beyond Limitation
When we look at our birth chart; anywhere we see Saturn in a house or in a hard aspect to a personal planet we need to shed light on that area; these are the areas in life where we feel blocked, restricted, experience hardship, delays and incarnated to learn karmic lessons. Saturn connected to Venus requires us to do the deep dive on our partnerships and ask ourselves:
Do I believe love should be hard?
Do I think love must be earned?
Do I attract people that are unavailable?
What false images did I develop in childhood regarding love?
Do I select partners where I am left feeling that I am unworthy or unlovable?
Some False Constructs
Often individuals with these aspects will select a hard relationship- everything is hard ā this is mirroring back the limiting beliefs developed in childhood that love must be earned. I want you to know that love does not have to be hard won. Love can be easy; love can be right and love just flows. I am not saying that there are not rough patches in relationships or adjustments that need to be made but if the entire relationship is hard, you can be assured you are working out karmic lessons with that partner. You need to ask yourself, am I selecting partners that are a reflection of my limiting beliefs? Am I selecting partners that reinforce the wounds present in my natal chart? Am I selecting partners that somehow mirror a parental influence?
A ring of fear surrounds love like rings around Saturn -Marianne Williamson
Fears in love
Fears connected to love have a variety of ways of showing up, one is the phantom ex or the one that got away. We are not naturally optimistic where Saturn is placed; we are hesitant, we are fearful, we are defensive and guarded. With the aspects mentioned above we have to ask ourselves areĀ weĀ truly emotionally available? Are we available for a healthy and loving connection? Being emotionally unavailable isnāt always obvious. You can see people with these aspects hung up on a phantom ex or the one that got away- this is common with those that have attachment traumas; romanticizing the past keeps us unavailable in the present. You are worthy of real connection here in this ānowā moment.
Another way we can block love is by finding something wrong with everyone. I am not talking about settling, but I am asking you to reflect on finding fault with each person you meet. Sometimes people with these aspects will get hung up on someone emotionally unavailable with an array of issues but turn down viable choices in love for frivolous reasons. If this is so you need to ask yourself to do, I intentionally find something wrong with everyone as a means of staying safe or unavailable.
Often these aspects can suggest a person that is driven in terms of career. I often refer to Saturn in hard aspect to Venus as my political aspect.
A few politicians off the top
John McCain had Venus opposite Saturn
Hillary Clinton Venus square Saturn
Jackie Onassis Venus opposite Saturn
Ted Cruz Venus Opposite Saturn
Donald Trump Venus conjunct Saturn
People with Venus in hard aspect to Saturn and other personal planets may be driven to succeed which is fine but I always want them to ask themselves: am I driven to succeed because I am operating from the belief that my worth somehow correlates with external praise, accolades or validation. It is important to understand that no amount of outer success and praise can compensate for a lack of self-love. Questioning our motives is an important part of self-discovery.
Many successful people have Saturn in hard aspect to Venus in the Natal Chart
Bill Gates Venus conjunct Saturn
Jeff Bezos Venus conjunct Saturn
Mark Zuckerberg Venus conjunct Saturn
You will often see people with these placements put work ahead of love and partnership. It is ok to be driven but if you have these aspects you want to do some self-inquiry and ask do I use my career as a means of avoidance when it comes to love. Am I driven externally to compensate for a lack I feel within.
Dating people with these aspects
When it comes to dating people with hard Saturn aspects you have to go in cautiously- that is my guidance. I have Saturn in the 7thĀ house, so I am very well aware of the wounds, defenses and limiting beliefs that come equipped with these aspects. I am also aware of the deep self-reflection, honest self-assessment and unpleasant self-examination I had to undergo to recognize my own self undoing as it pertains to partnership. People that have these aspects that have not done any healing will often be defensive and closed off to love and affection. It is important to understand a closed heart or door is never an invitation for you to try harder. If a person with these aspects has not done the adequate soul searching, they may avoid love all together, select partners that are cold and unloving or choose someone that makes sense on a practical level without the emotional involvement. If you are offering a kind, easy, open sort of love to someone that has not done the work they may not be able to receive it, reciprocate it or appreciate it.
Some Final Thoughts
Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond- Rumi
Universal Law of Mirrors
Saturn in hard aspect to Venus or the other aspects I have mentioned earlier often connect with karmic partners and those that have something to teach them in this lifetime. I would look to everyone you meet as a guide your greatest lessons this lifetime will come through other people. So, every time you find yourself caught up in a karmic entanglement ask: what is this person here to teach me? What are they reflecting back to me about myself? What is my part in this story?
A Delay is not a Denial.
These aspects often involve a delay; remember a delay is not a denial. If you marry early the relationship will likely be unsatisfying and based on obligation. It is not uncommon for those that marry prior to 30 to divorce. You are better off getting married after your Saturn Return when you have integrated the lessons on self love.
You have to really let it go -the way you thought love would be and when you thought it would come. Love happens in divine time with these placements. Releasing your need for it, let go of your desire to force outcomes and focus on yourself, Ā your dreams, your journey and your own healing.
And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight inside the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom- Anais Nin
Open Up
People with these aspects are often withholding; love is not expressed freely. The early home environment or even a first heartbreak may have taught them love is scary, or love is not safe. Fears of previous heart break may permeate their thoughts when it comes to opening up; it may place them in flight or fight mode. If this is your placement it is important to learn to give love without the need for reciprocation. Love because you are loving not because others always act in ways that are lovable. This does not equate to abandoning your standards or boundaries; we can be loving while still prioritizing our own peace of mind and wellbeing. It is important to understand that our outer world is nothing more than a mirror to our inner reality āas above so belowā if you want to have love you have to give it love. Often the pain we experience with these aspects isnāt the love someone is withholding from us but the love we have withheld from ourselves.
Navigating Relationships with Moon and Uranus Influences
The Moon in the Natal Chart is associated with our needs, our ancestry, our desire for security, our instinctual responses and how we express ourselves emotionally. No matter the sign the Moon is placed in or the aspects it makes- if it is dignified or challenged it still represents our emotional landscape. In synastry which is essentially the comparison of two charts to see how two individuals impact and interact with one another; aspects to the Moon in one Birth Chart from the planets in another personās Birth Chart can show how the latter may impact the Moon person emotionally; as well as how they relate to one another on an emotional level.
The nature of Uranus in Astrology is disruption, freedom, rebellion, and upheaval. Uranus is known as The Great Awakener in Astrology it is a planet that seeks to shock, enlighten, innovate, and change whatever it touches.
We can already see how the meeting of these two planets can be quite a challenge. The very nature of these planets are at odds with one another. The Moon seeks security, it governs our home life, how we nurture ourselves and others, it is how we seek comfort and it governs our home base; the Moon is our inner most world when it is touched by Uranus particularly in hard aspect we find an array of difficulties that are not easily overcome.
When I am initially meeting a couple or a person to discuss synastry, one of the first things I look for is Moon square Uranus or Moon opposite Uranus; these are in my top 5 least favorite aspects in synastry.
When a personās Moon is apected in square or opposition by anotherās Uranus we often have inconsistency, this can be my long distance, or off and on-again relationship aspect.
If you have this with your partner, it is essential to ask yourself, can this connection be grounded? Can it be consistent? Can that other person show up in a dependable and reliable manner? And if not, you have to strongly consider if this is something you can live with.
Remember: synastry acts like a permanent transit
It is important to understand that synastry is permanent ā it acts like a permanent transit so if you are in a relationship with someone you will feel this energy always. Perhaps you can attempt to work with it, but it is still ever present, and it is one of those aspects where you really have to ask yourself, does this work for me on an emotional level?
When a personās Uranus (this can be a parent, friend, lover, or partner) meets the Moon of another in synastry the Uranus person cannot relate to the Moon person emotionally. Often these two are very different in some regard, they likely have different backgrounds and contrasting childhood experiences. With Uranus being the planet of instability when it meets with the Moon in anotherās chart the Moon person may quickly realize the Uranus person cannot be relied upon emotionally. Often in these connections the Uranus person will pull away every time the Moon person gets close. The Uranus person may not want to be bogged down emotionally and will likely avoid any emotional dependency from the Moon person; resulting in the Moon person feeling emotionally ignored or invalidated. This aspect via square and opposition can be very emotionally disturbing for the Moon person it may provoke feelings of anger or sadness. Often the Uranus person is not someone you can rely on emotionally. Did I say that already?Ā It is important to understand this.
Uranus opposite or square Moon in Synastry can speak of emotional upsets as well as an emotional disconnection. I recall I had a client that was married for two decades to someone with the square, and I said I was surprised, and she stated they always lived separate lives. I have another client that has been married for a long time with the opposition and her husband travels 200 days of the year. Remember the Moon is associated with our home and Uranus rules change and disruption so here we find a person not continuously home.
If you have this in synastry you need to be honest with yourself particularly as the Moon person and ask is this something I can live with? If you are in a relationship and it is hot and cold, you need to ask yourself, is this really a person I can set up a life with?
In pop culture I often use this example when discussing this aspect, I call it my āJustin Bieber Selena Gomez aspect;ā they had the square Justins Uranus in Capricorn squares off with her Moon in Aries. Selena Gomez recently described being emotionally abused by Justin during there on again off again relationship.
In Justin Biebers Natal Chart he himself has Uranus square Moon this can be reflected in his own on again off again estranged relationship with his own Mother. This is a person that may be emotionally erratic or disconnected.
We know Justin went on to marry Hailey Bieber whom in her own Natal Chart has Uranus square Moon she recently gave an interview and said, āIām not super close with my family at this point in my life because Iām very independent.ā
Hailey and Justin both have this in the Natal Chart, and they also have it with one another in synastry his Uranus squares her Moon. (Selena has it Natal but with a 10-degree orb personally I would discount it)
Whatever my personal opinion is on the longevity or compatibility of this couple I wanted to illustrate the point that Uranus square or Opposite Moon in synastry works best for those that already have the aspect in their own natal chart. This is a person that does not seek emotional closeness, may be quite independent and prone to quick changes in feelings. A person that does not have this aspect in the Natal Chart may be experienced as needy to the person that has Uranus in hard aspect to the Moon in their own chart.
Remember if a person calls you needy, they are essentially telling you they do not have the ability to meet your needs.
I always think it is interesting to watch someone have a toxic or erratic connection with one person but then go off and have a completely seemingly normal connection with someone else. That is because the other person may not view or experience the personās behavior as upsetting or unbearable depending on how they themselves process things emotionally.
Uranus Conjunct Moon in Synastry
The conjunction is easier than the Square or Opposition these two energies can be infused with one another without the disconnect/reconnect/disconnect that comes with the square or opposition. This relationship is likely exciting and unconventional but in a way that works for both parties. The Moon person likely feels an immediate electrifying energy from the Uranus person. The Uranus person likely introduces the Moon person to new concepts and may be very unique and interesting to the Moon person.
Uranus sextile or trine Moon in Synastry
A trine or sextile aspect often represents growth, opportunities, and gifts; here the energy is not overwhelming like it is with the square and opposition. These aspects are lively, interesting, and exciting without disruption. The two individuals likely support one another emotionally and understand one anotherās more unconventional sides. You really get one another and may even introduce each other to new scientific, spiritual, or astrological concepts.
Pro Tips:
Always consider each individuals Natal Chart prior to looking at the synastry
Remember the entire chart must always be considered

New Moon Solar Eclipse
A New Moon or Solar Eclipse occurs when the Sun and Moon are in the same sign and the same degree. A Solar Eclipse is essentially a powerful New Moon and its impact by house placement has a longer lasting influence. The effect of a Solar Eclipse in a house can last an entire year; this means the Natal Chart house receiving the Solar Eclipse will be active for 12 months. For example, if a Solar Eclipse falls in your natal 4th house the entire year you may be focused on 4th house activities: perhaps buying or selling a home, renovating a home or dealing with family issues.
The New Moon period is a time of new beginnings and fresh intentions; if you are doing a ritual you want to do so within a three-day period following the New Moon; it is essential to not set intentions prior to the New Moon. Just because the Sun and Moon are in the same sign does not mean the New Moon is active; the Sun and Moon must be in the same degree as well; anything prior is a period of release and letting go.
New Moon & Solar Eclipse in the Houses
First House
The first house is all about you! The 1st house governs your aesthetic, your health, your body and the way you present yourself to the world. When a New Moon or Solar Eclipse falls here you may wish to get back into the gym, style your hair different or reinvent yourself in some manner. You may also feel reenergized after a period of rest and ready to get back out into the world and socialize more. It is giving āI am Coming Outā ā Diana Ross vibes.
Second House
The second house is all about finances, the money you earn and the money you spend. This is all about financial planning, perhaps you will decide to open up a new savings account or invest extra money in your 401k. You may look into alternative streams of income or begin saving to purchase a house. This placement is asking you to move differently financially; how are you spending your money? Are you investing in your financial future?
Third House
The third house encompasses a variety of things; our siblings, transportation, education, short distance travel and communication. I always suggest teaching or hosting workshops during this New Moon as it can represent a time of enhanced knowledge. You may purchase a new car during this New Moon or seek to have improved relationships with your siblings. This can also be a period where you decide to be a more effective communicator or set the intention to travel more.
Fourth House
The fourth house governs our home and family; it is one of the more private houses in the Natal Chart. When the New Moon lands in your 4th house you may extend an olive branch to family members. It can also be a period of retreating and going within; perhaps you are reorganizing or decorating or even setting intentions to move or spend more time at home or with family.
Fifth House
The fifth house is home to self- expression, creativity, dating, pleasure and children! This New Moon is asking you to live out loud and tap into your talents and other things that you truly enjoy. How can you nourish your inner child? How can you incorporate play into your life? This is a great New Moon to start a new hobby or get further involved with a new venture. If you have been playing small it is asking you to step into the limelight and put yourself out there romantically. If you have been wanting to expand your family this can be a great time for pregnancy (the entire chart must be considered).
Sixth House
The sixth house is the house of day-to-day activities it is associated with work, our coworkers, health (along with the 1st) and small pets. This is THE time to get back into the gym and establish better habits. The 6th house is things we habitually do it has a ritualistic quality to it, and a New Moon placed here is asking you to get back into the gym, eat healthier and reorganize your life so it flows easier. You may also want to adopt a pet and make an effort toward improved relationships with coworkers.
Seventh House
We usually refer to the 7th house as the house of marriage, but it is really the house of āothersā as well as partnerships both personal and business. If you have been looking to partner up with someone for a business deal this may be the time to get things started, This can be a period of reaching out to clients by offering certain incentives, If you have your own business you may consider running new advertisement/ads to bring in more clientele. You may want to do a ritual or the 369 method on the day the New Moon falls in your 7th house to attract new romantic love.
Eight House
The eight house is the house traditionally known as āSex, Death and Taxesā a New Moon here can be a time of great transformation, and the energy can almost be two-fold. With this being the house naturally ruled by Scorpio, you may find you are letting something go to make room for the new. This is a great time to sign up for a tarot, astrology or psychology class or perhaps open your own practice. The 8th house also has to do with our creditors and people we owe money too. Now is the time to make a financial plan to pay back taxes, credit card debts and student loans etc.
Ninth House
The ninth house is associated with long-distance travel and higher education; these are the areas where you want to place your energy. A few years ago, I sent the intention to visit one new country a year. This is something I would suggest is great to do when the New Moon is placed in the 9th house. Some may want to return to school so now is the time to fill out your applications or look into university. The 9th house is connected to far-off places, Ā you can tap into that energy by studying other cultures, signing up to learn a second language or taking a cooking class focused on a cuisine that is not your own. This is all about growth and expansion both intellectually and culturally.
Tenth House
This 10th house is associated with not only our career but what we are known for in this lifetime. This New Moon is asking you to consider not only your 5-year plan but also your legacy. If you desire a career change; now is the time to send out resumes. This New Moon is asking you to go beyond a career change as well it is askingĀ you to ask yourself what is your future plan and what can you do today to get to where you want to be? For anyone that has a business I always suggest putting out content or advertising when the moon is in the same sign as your Midheaven- it does not have to be a New Moon exclusively.
Eleventh House
The eleventh House is one of the social houses in Astrology here we find networking, friendships and group endeavors. This is the time to connect with others and expand your social circle. This is the time to join a group- it can be a group involved with political change or a work affiliation. This can be a time of hosting a group event or working with others. The 11th house is traditionally known as the house of:ā like minded friends, hopes and wishesā So putting your intentions for things you want to manifest in the future ā this is a perfect time for working on a vision board!
Twelfth House
The twelfth house in astrology is the house of solitude and endings this New Moon is two-fold as it is asking for you to retreat and let go before starting fresh. This is great for learning or connecting with spiritual healing modalities such as Reiki, dream journaling, Akashic Records and meditation. You are being asked to pull back your energy and develop a new spiritual practice, go further into your own healing and release all means of self-sabotage.
A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse
A Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs and the same degree. A Lunar Eclipse is a powerful New Moon and its impact by house placement has a longer lasting influence. The Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse will activate two houses. The effect of the Lunar Eclipse in a house can last an entire year; this means the Natal Chart house receiving the Lunar Eclipse will be active for 12 months. For example, if a Lunar Eclipse falls in your 2nd and 8th house, the entire year you may be focused on financial issues. This can suggest unexpected expenses, balancing budgets or sometimes a loss of a job (the entire chart must be considered).
The Full Moon period is a time of endings and letting go. It is also a period of illumination, you will likely have sudden revelation in the houses that the Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse is activating.
Keep in mind Full Moons and Lunar Eclipses tend to be more emotionally charged than New Moons and Solar Eclipses.
First and Seventh Houses
When a Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse falls across the 1st and 7th house axis this brings relationship issues to a head; it is not uncommon to see arguments with partners during this Full Moon. This Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse also requires balance between yourself and other people in your life perhaps you are readjusting your needs vs theirs or maybe you need to set boundaries with the people in your life. This goes beyond just romantic partnership this Full Moon extends to other people generally speaking. Relationship issues will be illuminated during this period; issues connected to equality, values and equal give and take.
Second and Eight Houses
When a Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse falls across the 2nd and 8th house axis this brings financial issues or concerns to the forefront, you may suddenly get hit with an unexpected bill or IRS expense. You may feel a sudden rush to get yourself together financially and want to save or pay off your bills. This can bring up financial issues connected to a business partner or spouse, or you may need to have clearly defined agreements on who is responsible for what fiscally. On occasion with this Full Moon, I do see the passing away of a loved one; this is usually not unexpected it can be someone that was not well for quite sometimes.
Third and Ninth Houses
This is honestly one of the least eventful Full Moon Lunar Eclipses in my opinion it can suggest the completion of a degree and educational experience. You may have an argument with someone, siblings in particular. It just may be an overall busy period where you are on the go and do not have a minute to breathe, it can bring spiritual, philosophical and political revelations as well as unexpected or shocking news or communication.
Fourth and Tenth Houses
When a Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse lands in the 4th and 10th house it usually suggests a very emotionally charged period that can result in major changes in your career or your living situation. Balance is required as it pertains to your family/private life vs your career/public life. You may uproot your entire life during this period. Watch for disagreements on the home and work front. Anytime a Full Moon is placed in an angular house (1st, 7th, 4th and 10th) life events can be publicized.
Fifth and Eleventh Houses
When a Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse activates your Eleventh and Fifth house this can suggest the ending of a friendship or certain group affiliation. This can also really stir your creative tendencies and you may find yourself wrapping up or embarking on a new a creative endeavor, Full Moons always involve balance and this Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse is asking you to balance your needs, wants, desires vs those of others ā others can be the collective, friends and people you network with careers wise. You may also find you are at the end of a group project.
Ā Sixth and Twelfth Houses
When a Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse lights up your 12th and 6th house it can be a VERY emotionally charged and exhausting period. The 12th house is connected to the unconscious and the things we do not want to look at a Full Moon placed here illuminates where the bodies are buried. It will bring up every past pain, hurt and form of self-sabotage you have been avoiding. Aside from triggering this Full Moon can also disrupt your sleep either you are exhausted or unable to sleep. A Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse landing here can also bring drama and arguments at work know when to disengage.
Saturn Retrograde via Transit and in the Natal Chart
Saturn is the planet we associate with time, karma, hardship, commitment, structure, work and limitation. Ā When Saturn turns retrograde it brings into focus all of those āREā words. Reorganize, Reconsider, Revamp and Review where we are investing our time and energy. Are we receiving a return on our investment? Are we still committed to this person or project? We may look at our professional and personal relationships and begin to ask ourselves, am I still invested here? Am I receiving a return on my investment? Is this how I wish to spend my time? Where do I want to place my energy? It is a time to realign and release (other RE words) what is no longer serving you as well as people, places and commitments you have outgrown.
Saturn is retrograde about 4 ½ months out of the year. Planets caught on a Saturn Retrograde degree will experience hardship, karmic lessons and delays. When Saturn turns retrograde it is asking us to slow down, be deliberate and reassess our responsibilities and obligations.  Saturn transits including Saturn Retrograde can help us set boundaries, if we have been over giving or allowing others to take advantage of us Saturn transits will ask us to draw our line in the sand. Saturn also governs boundaries; if a boss, a lover, a friend or a family member etc. has been overstepping their boundaries with you now is the time you will likely declare: not anymore! Saturn represents the line in the sand.
As with all retrogrades, it is not an ideal time to start new projects or career endeavors. It is time to go back and reflect on what you can do differently or how you can improve things you have already started meaning a career, project or relationship. Ā It is difficult to plan a perfect wedding date, but I would be reluctant to get married during a Saturn Retrograde period as well with this being the planet associated with commitment.
Saturn Retrograde via transit asks us collectively to
Release perfectionism
Draw our line in the sand.
Review of our commitments
Reconsider our obligations.
Work smarter, not harder.
Become your own authority.
Reassess our limiting beliefs.
Random Saturn Retrograde Notes:
Expect challenges at work.
Respect yourself enough to tell others no
Set the bar for how you expected to be treated.
This is not really the time to launch new business enterprises.
It is not uncommon to resign from a position or place of employment.
If I had a theme song for Saturn Retrograde it would be Beyonce: Break My Soul
Expect delays and setbacks related to career advancements and opportunities.
Saturn retrograde can put a spotlight on where we have limiting beliefs, are defensive and pessimistic; be open to exploring the root cause of these behaviors.
Saturn Retrograde in the Natal Chart
Saturn Retrograde in the Natal Chart is one of the most challenging Retrogrades to be born with along with Mars Retrograde. In my personal opinion. Saturn Retrograde takes all of the hardship, structure, defensiveness and limitation and turns them inward. It makes for a person that is very hard on themselves as well as self-critical. They likely struggle with limiting beliefs or just a general feeling of unworthiness. Even if they are very successful or accomplished the native often carries with a sense of never being or doing enough. This is also one of my markers for having a father wound (as always, the entire chart must be considered)
Saturn Retrograde natal psychological makeup is built upon fears, compressed anxieties, inadequacy and an all-pervading sense of personal unworthiness, feelings of self-doubt and inferiority are more inwardly experienced than is apparent on the surface ā Astrologer Bil Tierney
When a planet is retrograde in the Natal Chart all of the energy is internalized; if you are close to someone with a heavy Saturn or Saturn Retrograde and you do not have these aspects it can be quiet challgneging as they can project their limiting beliefs onto your ideals, dreams and hopes for the future. Do not take this personally recognized this person is living with a distorted view of self- and fragmented self-concept; this is a placement for embodying the belief that life is hard and nothing comes easy or perhaps they are not good enough. That inner belief then gets projected externally. The person with Natal Saturn Retrograde has to work through the false belief that they are not worthy of good things as well as the propensity to seek external means of filling the void ā for instance accumulating a certain amount of wealth, obtaining another degree or seeking another promotion. These things are all fine but when using them as a barometer to measure our worthiness, which is inherent there in itself lies the problem.
āHe can be overly self-critical and plagued with personal guilt whenever he fails to live up to his demanding expectations of himself, he becomes overly sensitive to any sense of lack or deficiency he perceives in himselfā Bil Tierney
āThe individual needs to freely accept himself as he is even in his shadow parts without emphasizing a sense of shame, self-rejection or personal disappointment. He can be morbidly self-judgment;ā- Bil Tierny
When working with clients that have Natal Saturn Retrograde it is important to work thorough the feelings of limitation. These are the clients I advise: you donāt need another degree, promotion or certification, what If you just accept you are worthy right now just as you are. It is important to peel through the layers of the critical inner voice that is Saturn Retrograde and embrace who you are, as you are right now in this moment.
It is important to peel back the layers of self-condemnation as well as the false belief that reward and success must be hard won. If we look at social media, you can plainly see people are successful from all avenues of life with all levels of education that are doing what they love to do! It is imperative to recognize the blocks we experience are often internal. How can you peel back the layers? How can you accept you are worthy right here and now just as you are?
Often with Saturn Retrograde the father imprinted on the child a feeling of unworthiness or the false belief that worth is something that needs to be earned. That limiting belief does not have to be your reality. You are worthy of your own love and have high regard. It is time to embrace self-love and self-approval! Ā

Yes to everything here, Iām also gonna add: no void Moon on the day if you can help it.
Also: the chart of the moment should āsayā as closely as possible what you would like to happen (this goes for any event)ā¦mutable risings can show too much change in proceedings from moment to moment, not the greatest for a wedding.
For example, I would want everything to run as smoothly as possible, I wouldnāt want to have to do any work on my wedding day, I wouldnāt want any problems to solve, Iām certainly not doing any services for anyone either tf 𤣠so Iām definitely avoiding having a Virgo rising day of.
And then match it to your + your partnerās charts - in this example Iām the one with a Virgo stellium - in the 10H no less - so if anything Virgo related occurs with Virgo on the rising that day, energetically speaking it would fall to me, nooo thank you š«£

North Node in the Natal Chart and Synastry
I wanted to do a post on the North Node in the Natal Chart and in Synastry. The North Node in Astrology represents our destiny and the direction we are headed in this lifetime.
Where the South Node is placed -itās always opposite the North Node-this tells us what we already know; this is an area of life accompanied by feelings of familiarity & feelings of comfort. We are meant to be working towards the direction of our North Node in this lifetime.
Personally, I give precedent to the house placement of the North Node over the sign; but you are welcome to incorporate both the sign and house placement.
In synastry I make a mental note of the nodal house overlays, and I absolutely find some Node connections important. However, I do think you can have a soul connection with someone and NOT have nodal contacts.
In Synastry we can look at house overlays and see where our North Node falls for another person and vice versa; the house placement of a personās node in our own chart (and vice versa) can show how or what area of life we are encouraging one another to grow.
Random Node Aspects
A common placement I see in star crossed relationships is one personās Venus square the Nodes of another.
If you canāt get rid of them or break away from one another Saturn in one chart is likely making an aspect to the nodes of the other persons.
Venus in one chart conjoining the South Node of another tells us this is a past life connection.
When one personās Venus conjoins the North Node of another something about this connection is important to both partiesā personal development.
I want to encourage everyone to look at the planets they have conjunct the South node in their own Natal Chart and see what patterns, habits, thoughts, are holding you back from the direction of your north node. Ask yourself how you can move toward your north node? What is holding you back? What ancestral patterns or beliefs do you need to release in order to move in the direction of your destiny?
If you have natal planets conjunct the south node -Particularly Sun & Moon, it can feel like you are in a holding pattern bound to ancestral patterning. How can you transcend these patterns instead of reliving them?
Revered Nodes can provide a piece to the puzzle:
When we have opposite nodal placements in synastry, for instance my North node is in my 8th house, and I meet someone and they have North Node in the 2nd house; we can show one another what traits each of us needs to develop to reach our full potential
