Splinter and Tang Shen: Splinter was once Hamato yoshi, brother in arms to one oraku saki. They trained in Japan in the foot clan. His father is always strict when it comes to ninja training, it’s like he doesn’t acknowledge him as a son. As they trained, they met Tang Shen. She was from New York and had all the tude that came with it, splinter felt head over heels immediately. Saki didn't but saw her as a friend. As the trio got along, two things happened over time. One was the romance between Yoshi and Tang, the other was oraku saki slowly becoming more rageful and violent for what seemed like no good reason. It all accumulates in oraku saki making his stand and killing their sensei a week after Yoshi and Tang's honeymoon. Yoshi and Tang confront him as Saki rants that he's the reincarnation of the Greatest Warlord to ever live. Seeing that their friend has lost his mind, they try to stop them. It ends in failure as Oraku saki burns in the flames of the dojo. As they both search for any foot clan members but they're either dead or missing without a trace. This leaves Yoshi devastated but Tang offers to take him back to his home. As they do, Yoshi reads up on the Renaissance as he looks for a job and a purpose. One day, he walks from the pet store with a gift to his wife, four small turtles. Sure the store was probably the worst one ever, for crying out loud they were selling sea turtles as pets, but he fell in love with those 4 as soon as he saw them. As he walks, barrels of a weird green glowing substance fall from the sky. They hit the street as chaos ensues. As he awakes, he realizes he has mutated into a rat. As the shock settles in he hears a baby cry. He looks up with blurry vision as he sees a monster pick up a baby by the foot as it plans to eat them along with the other three. Despite the pain he defends the infants and retreats. As his visions clears, he realizes what he holds in his hand. These are the turtles that he had bought. He knows he cannot return to Tang like this, so he plants a note in their shared apartment and leaves in the night. He hides in an abandoned water tower as he thinks about what to do now. But that is interrupted when Tang Shen bursts down the makeshift door. Tang Shen comes from a big family. She's the lady in the jacket. She got into a lot of trouble and ran away from home a lot. As the youngest in her big family, she always wanted attention and felt angry when she was ignored which was a lot. When she arrived in New York and met Yoshi, it put a lot of things into perspective for her. As they fell in love they brought out the best in each other. He somehow managed to understand her anger as she understood that he was also being ignored but in a much worse way. So when Tang reads the news of a spillage and the note Yoshi left, she didn't buy that shit for a second. She learned a thing or two from the foot, one of those things was tracking down a person. When she found Yoshi, she promised him that she would always be there for him, no matter what he did. When she saw the babies, she instantly fell in love. Soon they came up with a plan, she would become a "widow" and moved to a smaller apartment, one with a sewer hatch in the middle of the kitchen. To "save money", but in reality it's a secret hatch to their real home in the sewer. She works for the police and is the main money maker of the house. Came up with the splinter nickname after the boys kept comparing it to the green dinosaur.
