i think its so funny in st fics, particularly steddie ones, when eddie groups nancy in with the popular kids or, god forbid, calls her the queen of hawkins high. like babe that was the plot of S1. nancy was a prissy little nerd that had one (1) friend and the popular kids didnt like her. you might be tempted to argue that she became popular by dating steve but actually the opposite is true and steve became unpopular by dating nancy. nancy was so tragically uncool it is not even funny. its why steve liked her so much lmao
