a/n: for district nine writersâ guildâs prompt: write a fic inspired by a line from another memberâs fic! okay, so this piece is actually inspired by a few things ⌠the au is that of one of my own fics, âcharmed by youâ; this is the inspiration for the specifics of chanâs spell and him using a silver bell; and finally, itâs partially inspired by a line from @decembermoonskzâs fic âmidnightâ (seo changbin, TLL universe). the line is bolded in the fic, since i took the liberty of including it. i had a fun time returning to this au, and exploring chanâs character further! enjoy~
edits:Â ending extended and reader pronouns changed.Â
⧠masterlist and tag list info in bio â§
1 vial of moon water (8 ounces works best, but can be more)
3 stones of hematite
1 silver ring
smoke captured from ritual at last full moon (preferably in glass jar but wood works too)
5 rowan berries, dried
1 handful of mica (small shards or dust. no sheets)
silver bell for cleansing
Chan finished reading down the list of ingredients heâd gathered in a mortar in front of him, looked to the counter behind him, and screeched.Â
âWhereâs my bell??!!â
He frantically looked around his small kitchen, which was lit by nearly twenty candles of varying sizes. âI could have sworn it was right here. Damn it.â He huffed, hands on hips.
âHmmm?â Changbin started, looking up from the notebook in which he was methodically copying down the basics of rhyming in advanced spells. Heâd recently found that these were curiously close to the rulesâwhich he commonly brokeâfor rhyming in rap, and planned to experiment with combining the two disciplines when he had the chance.
âMy bell!â Chan repeated, looking in the cabinets under the counter, as if the bell had sprouted legs and walked off of its own accord ⌠which was not out of the question, considering that his was a house of magic. âIt was right here. Iâd taken it out to cleanse before starting this working, but now itâs gone. Shit.â He distractedly ran a hand through his hair, successfully scattering flecks of mica in it.Â
