“Ash Dreaming”
People very often ask me to paint portraits of pets who have passed away. And I truly understand this wish — to keep a beloved animal not only in your heart, but also close to you, as a warm reminder on the wall, as part of your home and memories.I really love painting animals. Maybe because they always carry so much sincerity, personality, and quietness within them. Two years ago, when my own dog passed away at the age of 16, I painted a piece for myself too. I placed him in an apple garden where we used to walk before he became ill. We played ball there, I could let him off the leash, and he would happily run through the grass. It was his happy place. And mine too. That is how this painting of Ash appeared. Thankfully, Ash is alive and doing well. But he is already a very senior cat, and I asked to place him in a world filled with flowers and endless sky. A quiet, peaceful place full of sunlight, butterflies, and warm grass.I think it fits his personality perfectly. Ash is calm, gentle, and wonderfully lazy. This daisy field feels like a little paradise made especially for him.I truly hope Ash will live for many, many more years, and this painting will simply become a beautiful decoration in the home and a reminder of how deeply he is loved 🖤
