I remember the day my grandpa died. The warm summer morning that started way too early for us. All our hearts broken in to tiny pieces. All of us crying on and off all day. The countless group hugs where we just had to hold each other, even for a few minutes. While the rest of the family were making the arrangements, Joey, Tyler, and I went to visit our Gampy at the cemetery. Holding onto each other, we decided that we’d get matching tattoos of Grandpa’s signature and birthday on dog tags. Joey and I can’t thank @dungeontattoo enough for helping us personalize our tattoos and honor our grandfather with such beautiful work. They came out better than we could’ve ever imagined. We wanted Grandpas birthday and not his death day because that is the day that our Pa came into this world and made it a better place for his family. He gave all of us the world, and we couldn’t have asked for a better man to lead our family. He fought cancer with strength and bravery. He showed us that it was just cancer and he wasn’t afraid. I’ve got your signature on my arm and your ashes in a heart around my neck.
