Didn't feel right posting this anywhere else but here.

Today is one of those days that I want to type up a long, insightful status about how our country and our society is quickly making a fool of itself, but my mom says that the reason I don't have any friends is because I'm opinionated and tend to judge people by their actions and the choices that they make. That may or may not be true, but it's just me I guess. I'm the kind of person that tells you how I feel and doesn't sugar coat anything. Nobody can handle that sort of thing anymore so us realists feel obligated to keep our mouths shut as we watch the world tear itself down with disrespect and disregard and carelessness and selfishness... stubbornness and naivety.  So, without complaining about every individual thing that pisses me off about this world, I'm just gonna try and infuse a little optimism into the situation. Everyone deserves the truth. Everyone deserves love. Everyone deserves respect.  Show respect to any and everyone you interact with all day. Smile. Even if that cash register lady took wayyyy too long to check out the customer in front of you, greet her with a smile and a pleasant greeting. It baffles me how many people cannot grasp this concept of being nice. It's foreign to most. Everyone is leading a different life. Everyone has issues, struggles, hardships. Never assume you know a person entirely. What they're going through. I hate when someone has a cry for help or support, and someone plugs their empathetic "I know how you feel..." or "I understand...." and continue to infuse their own personal experiences into the situation in comparison. No. You don't know how they feel and you don't understand. If the person asking for help even understood an ounce of what was happening, they wouldn't be asking or help. How in the world could you possibly understand? Be there for people. People listen to be heard. They never listen to listen. This is a selfish act. Do not interrupt. This is rude. People need other trustworthy people to lean on. To rely on. They are few and far between these days because everyone is willing to exploit another for one's own benefit.  Stand up for what you believe in. Can't stress this enough. Have opinions. Uphold those morals. Explain why you feel the way you feel about something. If someone cannot respect you for even having the power to feel strongly about something, they're not worth your breath. They will never have power over their own lives. They'll choose to follow the masses and what is fed to them will be right.  And for god sakes, love and appreciate everything you can, every chance you can. Thank people. Show people you appreciate all that they do for you. When you see a child out in public behaving like an angel, compliment their parents. They are raising our future generation. The next time you go to Chipotle, thank every individual that is a part of making your meal for you. Drive with your windows down and no music on for once. Take pictures of people and places. Enjoy this life you've been blessed with and every thing in it. You're only here for a century, and you're certainly not guaranteed that.  Be happy.
