One long awaited evening, King Prince and her doting fiancé, Missy, are to be married over a masquerade ball with their closest of friends. Once starting small, it quickly garnered attention and became an event to be remembered, ambitious yet followed through with by the efforts and will of the couple.
If only it hadn't gone so wrong! Hugh, their maid of honor had found a tragic and horrific scene outside of the dressing room,
King Prince, their eloquent and beloved sheriff, was shot dead with no perpetrator in sight.
And so the crowd runs amuck with gossip and loose rumors. With a suspicious and conniving detective hasty to be in the lead of the investigation in coordination with the rest of a rather airheaded police force, a few unfortunate victims of blame, and only a new "rookie" police officer being dedicated to solving the case of King Prince.
Tossing a bone and that bone is the Murder Mystery of King Prince, or just the murder mystery AU!!

All gods are human (esque), the AU is heavily inspired by mystery film tropes. It's also mostly based in the 60s, with some elements of the 18th-19th century sprinkled in (as a treat).
Rook is the main character, a newer police officer now shouldering all of the responsibilities King once had when she was alive, and fighting within their own system for a case they have no footing in. Hector and his right hand man Capochin are almost completely sabotaging the case with wild accusations, firstly latching onto Abigail as the main suspect.
Missy is grieving and expected to be the ultimate source of information for the case by some- and brushed off as hysterical by others, Abigail is more estranged than ever after her playful jokes turned into a life sentence, Bach's voice of reason has been drowned out over Hugh's near instant agreement with Hector and pointing of fingers until its own statements turn on itself, and Theodore is left miserably failing to reroute Clyde's interest in the case, blindly spreading Hector's word through the press which he works for.
Do most actually stop to check the validity of these accusations? Of course not!! Not when it gives them the simplest explanation.

been meaning to do one of these for a hot second, and ggg's anniversary had me thinking about mean green mother again (still SO floored and flattered that it got shouted out by the limbolane crew); said it before but i'm so so grateful to this game for injecting me with so much inspiration and energy, it really is something special :3

This game and its community never ceases to amaze me and even all the art I've seen just today is proof of that, so here's a piece with a bunch of fanworks I've gotten myself inspired by, below is all AUs or fics I've included and me rambling a little
I woulda included more things here since I have a LONGGG list of things I enjoy from here but heyy that's for another time, this was enough for one day
I stalked this fandom for a while until actually making myself a part of it and man, seeing it evolve (even as it quiets down a little) is such an enjoyable experience
This game is special to me in how it's inspired my art and my writing, it somehow got me back into drawing things like comics just for fun??
The community is the best I've seen from a game in a long time, everyone I've seen here is insanely creative and inspired, and I really just hope to see that continue for a long ways to come, as well as hoping I can leave something here as well for people to enjoy.
