My Small Business Journey
As the expression goes, “If you want something done right, do it yourself.” After years of seeing agencies obsessed with up-selling or forcing techniques whether or not it was the optimal fit, I took the plunge. I decided there must be a better way so risked a comfortable job and decided to take a chance. Risk is never easy. However, I felt that small businesses and non-profits were often disrespected. I found that their projects were not sufficiently robust for agencies to take on. Therefore, Strat360 was born.
Talk about rewarding. Not because of revenue dollars or prestige but in being able to help small businesses and non-profits who needed support. Whether partnering with a religious organization or software company, it is a remarkable feeling to see insights applied so that customers, donors, and stakeholders are empowered to do better. Yet, it is not a road I travel alone.
LinkedIn and ProFinder provide partnership with the means to identify these clients. To me that defines excellent partnership where we have a win-win-win-win situation. Among the winners are clients and stakeholders, customers and end users, my consultancy, and LinkedIn. We all contribute in key ways and we all win.
With that said, we can all do more to help small businesses and non-profits. In particular, LinkedIn and ProFinder are just scratching the surface. As this service becomes better known there are great opportunities to build bridges between me, the consultant, and end user.Perhpas, there are tools within LinkedIn that can be leveraged given the new relationship with Microsoft? I look forward to the journey.
