iphone cameras sometimes will suffice, when combined with a quick edit on snapseed (I believe this is google's editing app). with the right mix of light, the HDR option is fantastic.
#venicebeach B Martin shoot at Venice beach about a year ago. Found this one in the archives. I had an Alien Bee 600 connected to a vagabond mini. Perhaps if the light had a warmer gel it could have looked like the sunset.

McClaren.
Behind the scenes from a shoot I had with Artie Lange for hMag. This photo shows my shitty Sigma 24-70 2.8, but I the image we used for the cover was actually shot with a fixed 24, and I was sitting across the table from him for about a half hour.
Models could take a lesson from this guy. After each exposure, he hit new, humorous, and interesting poses without fail, and required just about no direction whatsoever.
We had about an hour to get in and out of the location, where I set up a key light with a 20 degree grid, a bounce (diffused), and a hair light in 90 sq ft.
I’m lucky I pulled this one off.
The final edit used, seen above, consists of two separate exposures. One for the background, one for the subject.

View from a shoot, at 57th and 7th.
Pfeiffer Beach, Big Sur, California.
Flatiron, from 17 feet. Taken with a lomo, 35mm panoramic.
Campsite, just North of Sedona, AZ. Mid March, 2013.
What's hyper, ever moving, never still, doesn't listen, mostly unstable, is never satisfied, doesn't understand, knows everything... but sometimes loves the attention of a photographer?
You see it above. I turn away the business constantly but seldom lend favors for close friends and family. I don't like to admit it, but these shoots are fun from time to time...
