Do you honestly think that it’s a good reason? I’m all for gay couples, the more the merrier! But honestly if he thinks that teen wolf is a bad show because of the fact that there’s too many straight couples on the show then that fact itself is morally unethical. If this were someone straight saying they hate the fact that there are so many gay couples on the show everyone would bash them. And that was MY OPINION. Yes it is a good reason. Fuck, any reason is a good reason to stop watching a show if you’re not enjoying it anymore and don’t want to suffer though it. Hell years ago I stopped watching Smallville cause it moved nights and was on at the same time as Joey which I was actually enjoying instead of sitting in rage though. And when from the beginning Teen Wolf has claimed to be sooo progressive, that their universe is free of homophobia, and “look! Danny! We have Danny!” like that matters to anything when he’s not a main character, he gets like 3 scenes a season, and since season 2, every single scene has been about him being gay. He’s no longer just that lacrosse player who’s BFFs with Jackson, and oh hey, he likes guys. His only reason for being on the show is to stand there and be gay now. The show will queer bait, they’ll expect us to make the show more popular with tweets, polls, tumblr, but then they’ll have the actors say “Oh no, Stiles is totally straight. That scene with Caitlin? Meant nothing. We bought her back, made her bi instead of gay as representation! See??? Bisexuals! Stiles questioning look meant nothing though. 3 seasons of Stiles wanting guys to find him attractive/kiss/have sex with him mean nothing. Stop being so delusional!” If Danny was a real member of the cast. If there was 2 or 3 gay couples who kissed and had sex the same as all the straight couples, who were real, fully developed characters involved in all the plots every week, Cole and all the others who feel betrayed and tired of this shit wouldn’t be leaving. And fuck you, no being homophobic is not the fucking same thing. Gay people can’t keep straight people from finding jobs or homes. No straight teenager has been kicked out of home for telling his parents he likes girls. No one gets beaten to death for being straight. You can turn on any fucking channel on tv and see straight people everywhere. Every movie stars straight people and their love lives. Wanting to see GLBT people on tv treated like equal, regular people, not Very Special Episodes, not minor background charters, but major characters who have plots, story lines, and oh hey once in a while between dodging death they make out with someone who happens to be their same gender is not wrong. Your opinion is wrong if you think we should just sit down and shut up and keep watching the billionth straight couple fall in love after making eye contact without needing “development” or “knowing each other”.

Y’know what? Askstydiamartinski can go fuck themselves. EVERYWHERE you look, there’s heterosexuals on TV. Naked, practically fucking on mainstream primetime network TV. I am so pissed off at the casual homophobia, YES I SAID HOMOPHOBIA, in this fandom. I’m sick to death of this bullshit that I’m supposed to be oh so grateful for Danny or the new Danny2.0 coming next season. I’m supposed to be oh so grateful for this or that minor character or boring token. I’m sick of being grateful for the occasional moldy breadcrumb dropped from the heterosexual media table.

Why is it outrageous that I, a gay man, don’t want to watch heterosexuals making out and having sex? That I can’t be arsed to care about yet another love triangle between two girls and a guy? Why is it upsetting to people that I want to see two GUYS making out for a change? Why do we have to defend our desires with oh no we just want a relationship not sex. BULLSHIT. I want Sterek to get the same treatment that Scallison or Scisaac or Scira get. EXACTLY the same. And when you bring on Danny for his token gay scenes, I want the same level of explicitness and emotional development and soaring music as the hets get. I want a MAIN fucking MALE CHARACTER to be gay/bi. Not the best friend’s best friend’s cousin or whatever.

Really, who do we have on non-pay-cable? We have the clusterfuck that is Glee. We have the couple on Modern Family I guess (I don’t watch sitcoms). We have……. um….. *crickets chirping* you’ll have to fill me in, because I don’t see it.

You can gripe about women being fridged all you want, but at least there are women in main character roles on just about every tv show out there. There are lots of good shows to chose from with women in them. Same with PoCs. They at least exist. There’s not enough of either, yes, but they are there. If you’re looking for gay or bi male characters, it’s a fuckin’ desert. We’re talking 60s Uhura representation levels. 

So no, it’s not a pointless reason to give up on a show when you’ve been strung along for 3 seasons with the tease of maybe finally getting to see someone like yourself on the tube. 

I’m gonna give S4 a chance, but only because I’m a jaded old fuck who’s used to being screwed over by TPTB. I’ve got plenty of years of chasing those moldy old breadcrumbs under my belt. I’m a fucking fat park pigeon when it comes to hunting down the good ones and making a meal out of the shit I’m served. But I certainly can’t fault anyone who’s had enough. And I’d never presume to lecture them about their reasoning behind media consumption choices like askstydiamartinski did.
