A cup of stars (open starter)
The Doctor enjoyed sipping tea un various places across the known universe but he had to admit Earth had its moments. He sighed happily as he sipped some earl gray on the coast looking over the ocean. The sun was just rising over the coast line as he basked in the light of day. He leaned back and tried to remain as calm as possible considering how stressful it had been recently. He looked down at the tea and scones he had in front of him as a smile danced across his face.
Simplicity at its finest but also enjoyable as he leaned foreword something caught his attention. People were having a heated discussion somewhere in the little B&B he had found as he wondered who would be arguing this early in the morning.
He turned back to look at Liz "So...what about you? what have you been up to these days?" he asked her curiously.
Liz smiled. "Well...you met my girlfriend, Patricia. Me and her work together at PROBE...we investigate ghost soghtings for the goverment, mostly. Some murders and satanic rituals" She threw him a quock eye. "No aliens yet as far as I can tell. I really thought there'd be some by now but its not happening."

"I mean it is a rare time when it happens...I am usually incredibly busy" he admitted as he walked her to the table he was sitting at. He ordered some more tea and cakes as he sat down. "This is one of those rare times where I get to take it easy...no monsters...no running...just...peace" he looked at the sky happily.
Liz smiled, sittig down beside him. "Good for you Doctor."

The Doctor chuckled "I am aware of the passage of time Liz...I am a time lord but its still you and that's what counts" he added sweetly. "I was having tea if you want to join me? while waiting for her to come back?" he asked offering her his hand.
Liz smiled. "You know what? That would be lovely" she said. "I have missed you." She added. "Everyone seems to run into you but me."

"Pardon me? how have I changed exactly? when was it we last met?" he pondered hard but it wasn't coming to mind. "OH! never mind that shouldn't' you go after her?" he suggested.
Liz sighed. "I don't think it'll do luch good. Better to let her cool off and then she may listen when I tell her how wrong she is..." She paused. "Doctor, I haven't reallt seen you in some twenty years. You don't see *I* have changed? I'm not even blonde anymore!" She exclaimed.

"Bad timing I assume?" he asked "No pun intended" he added quickly before it got awkward. "Who was that? I get the feeling I interrupted something...important" he said shyly.
Liz took a deep breath. "That, was my girlfriend, Patsy. And she was accusing me of cheating so yes - bad timing for a random man to recognize me in a Bed and breakfast" she agreed. "What...your face changed. But you sound the same.'

The Doctor paused as he knew one of the voices he had heard before as he stood up and walked over. "Liz? Liz Shaw?" he asked as he walked into the hallway of the B&B with a smile.
Liz turned around. "Doctor?" She asked, shocked.
The woman beside her gave a frustrated grunt. "Anpther one? Now I've really had it!" She exclaimed, before promptly stompkng off down the hall. "Have fun!"

Liz had rarely had sucha foght with anyone. But Pat seemed to be getting on her every last nerve and their "romantic getaway" was quickly turning into a jelous disaster.

It was exactly one week after the events with the Nestene, Autons and Channing.
Within that week alone, the Doctor had littered the UNIT science laboratory with bits and pieces of his current redundant ship.
To make matters worse, the Doctor had started to make demands from the Brigadier regarding gaining access to expensive scientific equipment which was still in development. To which the Brigadier often reminded him that unless it benefited UNIT investigations, the Doctor was not allowed to waste important taxpayers money on any illegal experiments on his ship.
The Doctor had already dismissed that rule almost immediately, being deeply engrossed in his work on his TARDIS. The doors of the battered police box were open as what seemed like a panel of the console was wedged in between them.
He rubbed his chin as is if solving a philosophical quandary.
"And that would be an alien?" Liz said. "You really do sound crazy. You and the Brigadier!" She crossed her arms, still sceptical. "Now do you want to fight or have a nice day?"
He blinked, shaking his head and laughing. "You know what.." he was about to argue but instead nodded slowly. "Very well Doctor Shaw, just you wait." smirking as he made his way over to the kettle, pouring himself another cup of tea.
"But I will relish the day when you are proven wrong." moving to pour more tea into her cup.
Luz smiled, accepting the top up on her tea. "I am sure you will. And if the day comes, I will not be so stubborn as to deny it." She promised him.
He beamed at hearing that, moving to pick up his cloak and putting it on. The Doctor gave her a flash of his smile. "Splendid!" he beamed.
He was about to say something else when the phone rang, moving to lift the receiver off the red rotary telephone, placing it by his ear.
"Hello?"
Liz listened to the phone. "Who is callung?" She wondered, thinking perhaps it was the brigadier.
It was indeed the Brigadier and the Doctor wasn't having any of it. His demeanor changing quickly. "Now, you listen here Brigadier. You tell that technical officer of yours, what was his name?" he asked before answering his own question immediately "Yes, Osgood.. That if he gets one scratch on Bessie, I won't be happy, one bit.. You hear me? She's still in her early modification stages.. One wrong click of a button, and she could potentially take out half of London..."
"You're borrowing Bessie? Waht's going on!" Liz hissed, wanting to know. "What's Osgood doing?"
The Doctor didn't have tlme to answer Liz when he heard a click on the other side of the receiver. Frowning profusely "Well, out of all the confounded arrogance! He hung on me! " exclaimed "Me, Liz?" he furrowed his brow as he made a beeline down towards the hat stand. "Well, we'll soon put a stop to him, now. Won't we Doctor Shaw?"
Liz grinned. She'd been rather frustrated with The Brigadier lately, and this seemed an oppertunity too good to pass up on. "Oh yes he will!let us go!" She encouraged.
