Project Pan: 23 in 2023

A goal of mine for 2023 is to continue being low-buy/shopping wisely for makeup, using up my makeup stash, destash what I will not use, toss what has gone bad. I did make a dent in my makeup/skincare stash during 2022 and want to keep the momentum going. FOMO is real and beauty subscription boxes really added to my stash. I stopped my Ipsy subscriptions in December 2021 and thrilled I didn't recommit. Continuing to decrease purchasing and using what I have. I also plan to keep track of my makeup spending and savings by using my stash. *fingers crossed* I keep that up in 2023.

December 2022 empties. I’m thrilled I was able to use up so much. One goal for 2023 is to keep track of what cones in and what is used.

November 2022 empties! Was not a fan of the foot peel, nowhere near as effective as Bealuz foot peel. Crème of Nature, though, has become a needful for me.

I have this conviction that you tie little bits of your intentions into your knitting as you do it.  Thousands and thousands of tiny knots all in a row, turning string into something useful–whether you believe in magic or not, I can’t shake the certainty that there’s something meaningful there.

Which means that when you knit a project marathoning ten hours of this or twenty episodes of that TV show, listening to that podcast, reading that book…it ends up in there.  This is the sweater knit to kids’ cartoons, the kind where nobody dies, and it’s soft and it’s safe and it’s warm.  This hat came from Stranger Things, and it’s a shield against darkness, it’ll keep you safe.  These are the Leverage socks for remembering how much your found family loves you, the Persona shawl for the guts to say ‘fuck it’.  This is the knitwear you put on to save the world.

(Like a lot of things humans think, I’m pretty sure this one is absolutely true in exactly the amount the knitter and the object-wearer believe it is.)

I'm slowly relearning how to knit, but I've crocheted for decades. This post really spoke to me as someone whose needlearts soothe my soul and decrease my anxiety.

Threadwork to process grief, a gift for a loved one, or for the sake of creation...perhaps that is why I produce so many wearables, whether a shawl, hat, or blanket. A woven shield, whether by hook or by needle.

October 2022 empties. Not as much as usual but I’m so thrilled all pans this time around are full-size products.

September 2022 product empties. Seems to be split between skincare and hair are this time around. Sheet masks are almost gone and should finish in October. I panned a foundation for the first time and I’m thrilled to bits over it.

Several years ago I bought a box of needlework fabric. I’m now finally going through it to kit up patterns I have. This particular linen fabric had stitching on it…unfortunately I couldn’t match the pattern used for this. 😔

Frogging the stitching and will kit this once it’s washed and dried. There’s a few other fabrics with small areas of stitching. If I can match the pattern, I’ll finish the pieces.
