This Witch Knits Socks Now!!
I have, for years, looked upon the art of knitting socks with no small amount of trepidation. The incredibly thin yarn, the practically microscopic needles. The task was clearly impossible. Sock knitting is absolutely witchcraft! It would take years to knit a single pair. And, Oh Gods, the heels and toes!! Nope, this was not for me at all, cheap and cheerful socks from Primark would just have to do, no way around it, the task cannot be done. By me at least.
Wrong!!!
This past weekend, while gazing dolefully upon the sock yarn leftover from making my daughter’s Felicity Mitts, something in me snapped. Why can’t I knit socks? What is actually stopping me, other than my usual crippling fear of failure? Answer: Nothing. The yarn was sat there begging to be turned into something. The needles were on the side idle.
So after a brief Ravelry search I settled on the Sail Away Socks by Felicity Ward

On the Sunday afternoon I cast them on and began, utterly convinced that they would take me months to make.
Just 3 short days later, I was grafting the second toe closed. Astounded at me speed, especially when using new techniques. So I now needed to find a new knitting goal for 2021. I didn’t need to wait long, my Mother found it for me. I will now be learning to knit toe-up two-at-a-time ( I guess the skies the limit for me, lol)
