                    "you don’t make a very good first                            impression, to be honest. i’m sorry… ah…” she                            felt maybe that was a bit rude, twiddling her                            thumbs in front of her and looking aside with a                            blush. her ears burned. coughing into her fist, she                            turned back to the stranger. “what’s your name?”

                  "That was my goal, but if I've gone too far,                           I'm sorry. I was just messing with you."                             Hikari showed no emotion other than an                           ambiguous smile, taking no offense in                            the girl's genuine honesty. It was better                           than a liar, after all.                           "They call me Dawn." Grey eyes opened                            to stare down curiously at the other. Her                            outfit was nothing out of the ordinary, yet                            it was still something foreign to her...                             "And yourself? Are you a traveler?"

                    "o-oh, you were… joking…" now she                            looks thoroughly embarrassed, quickly taking the xtran-                            sciever back and slipping it onto her wrist. “you shouldn’t                            scare people like that…!” cheeks puffed out and her lips                            puckered in a pout.

                   "Oh! You didn't fall for that one, huh?"                            Her smile only widened as the girl                            puffed out in order to scold her, but                            Hikari was hardly intimidated. Both                            shoulders rose in a shrug as she                            winked playfully in her direction.                           "You'll have to forgive me---- I just had                            to make you remember me some-                            how... and well, first impressions tend                            to do the trick, don't they?"

     He snorted a bit, nudging her gently in retaliation. “Friends? Sure, if that’s what you want to call it.” Friends… Maybe acquaintences. Volkner didn’t have a great many friends and he wsn’t sure if Hikari quite met all of the criteria in the first place.

     His lips pulled back a bit in an expression that was half-grin, half-sneer.“Oh, sure! Maybe I am a nerd, but I designed the solar panels for the city and I think that’s pretty amazing.”

                "----Pfft! You never change, do you?"                                                Color flared within her pale face as                        she listened to the mechanic's so-                        called bragging, finding it difficult to                        hold back her laughter. Wiping the                         mirth from her eyes, Hikari sighed                         as she shook her head at his pride-                        ful response.                       "Well, I never said you weren't ama-                        zing. You just have your own way of                        showing it. And, well, if you're proud                        of what you do, then that's that!"                        A small, sincere smile found its way                        onto her features. "Really, though. I'm                        glad we aren't enemies."

                  "Aw, you thought I was being serious!                          Maybe I should look into being some                          kind of actress, if I managed to fool a                          pretty little girl like yourself."                          With an amused grin, the small device                          is offered back to the other girl.                          "----Kidding, kidding. All right, here you                          are, miss... That'll be one billion Poké-                          dollars."
