There has been a brief hiatus from the irksome busking, engine revving, crowds blocking pavements, drivers illegally parked while their clients prowl the streets etc. The respite is over!
Everyone Must Get Involved to Tackle the Problem
Residents have two choices - get involved and press the police, RBKC and Ward Councillors to address these issues or suffer in silence hoping someone else will fix it. It is crucial that we stand together!
Noisy Cars and the PSPO – Crucial to Report, Even if You Don’t See the Car
The PSPO enacted late last year gives the police and RBKC authority to address the problem of noisy cars. It can only be enforced, however, in response to community requests.
Residents must call 101 and report breaches of the order. You don’t have to actually see the cars and can report simply hearing them at your convenience - just make the call and remember to get an incident number.
Police and Council also ask residents to kindly give them the registration numbers of the car if and when they are recorded as well as the specifics of its location and behaviour. Ideally, a photo would be helpful. If you manage to get a photo, email the following attaching the photo:
We should not expect instant results – this is a slow burn and must be a sustained campaign. Only if reports are made by a large number of residents will anything change!
Busking – A Noisy Nuisance
Another issue which is troubling many residents is the increasing numbers of buskers in the area. The number of people who have been disturbed in their homes on a Sunday afternoon by the bagpiper at the V & A, the opera singer near the tube, the guitarists using amplification by Thai Square are legion.
Again, we must all stand together.

Excessive litter or street cleaning needs report to RBKC.
It is absolutely essential that as many people report incidences as possible. If you see it, report it and don’t wait for others to do it for you.
