honestly there's only 2 actors who can make me watch whatever they're in, even horror and het which i normally stay away from. allow me the opportunity to wax poetic about them. i want the entire world to see them!

TSENG JING HUA 曾敬驊 (Taiwan)

i saw him first in Your Name Engraved Herein and he was captivating, but didn't imprint on me yet

and then Oh No! Here Comes Trouble came and shot all the way to the #1 spot of my all-time favorite taiwanese show, and his performance there made me want to check out his entire filmography

which led me to I Am Married...But!, Hello Ghost!, Eye of the Storm, and even a reality show The Two Wandering Fools (not official translation, it never got international distribution)

and then to Had I Not Seen the Sun, a show that i otherwise would not have ever watched if he wasn't in it (he just won Best Lead Actor at the 2026 Global OTT Awards for this role)

then i managed to track down Family Matters (he won a Golden Horse for Best Supporting Actor!)

and i seriously cried when netflix picked up A Foggy Tale (it released in november 2025 in taiwan and the netflix announcement happened in april 2026, with final release a month later at the end of may. within those few months i had been reading every post and review that came up on threads and i was thoroughly spoiled which didn't matter one bit. my most highly anticipated movie ever). he had very limited screen time but he was SO. IMPACTFUL

and this brings me to the other actor i'd watch anything for: the lead in A Foggy Tale

i tracked down Drifting while waiting for A Foggy Tale to drop. and also watched a bunch of interviews. all that made me realize this hong kong actor is one i should pay attention to

and then i finally got to see A Foggy Tale

AMAZING

i still have to track down the rest of their stuff, oh and these two will be in another movie together (Trinity, ETA end of 2026)

please i'm begging everyone to go watch A Foggy Tale (and most of the other titles i've mentioned are on netflix/iqiyi)
