Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.
How glorious a greeting the sun gives the mountains.
Missing the rain.
Acorns.
I think they're super cute, and not only do they make the most adorable earrings you've ever seen, but they're incredibly powerful in the witchy department.
Acorns have a plethora of uses, but for me personally, one particular effect of them draws to me: their ability to reflect and amplify power. If I have an acorn laying about, there are several things that I like to do to increase the effectiveness of my spellwork.
I'll list a few of my favorites here:
If I grind my own herbs with a mortar and pestle, I'll grind an acorn into it before pouring the powder out and grinding my other spices and herbs. It amplifies the influence of the herbs and also the influence of whatever I may be adding it into.
That powdered acorn can be dusted into wax that seals spells jars, and seems to be especially effecting with protection and safety jars.
Shattered bits of shell can be burnt along with cleansing incense to amplify the cleansing of your space.
Carrying acorns in your bag or on your person can increase the intensity of your presence
Throw them at assholes to chase them off

Pumpkin Spice and Brown Sugar Roasted Pumpkin Seeds for Samhain
Samhain is, among other things, the witches new year. We look back on the previous year, let go of what no longer serves us, let go of the phases in our lives/versions of ourselves that have reached their death, and look forward to/plan for what is to come. That's why I decided to make some roasted pumpkin seeds for the New Year aspect of Samhain!
Seeds carry so much potential. Potential for life, rebirth, and abundance. Seeds, to me, represent the natural cycles that we must connect with and live by. Seeds contain the life of next year's abundant spiritual harvest. And all of this potential is well protected inside the seed shell, waiting to sprout. These were made with seasonally corresponding spices that align with my intent.
On Samhain, I'll cast my intent on the seeds I eat, as I invision my goals for the coming year 🌙
-------------------
You'll need:
🎃 1 cup of pumpkin seeds- potential, prosperity, abundance, protection, manifestation and attraction of wishes, rebirth.
🎃 3 tablespoons of butter- fulfillment, emotional richness, happiness, nurturing energy.
🎃 2 tablespoons of brown sugar- sweetness in life, love, happiness.
🎃 Ground Cinnamon- protection, spiritual focus, psychic awareness, love, prosperity, money, health.
🎃 Nutmeg- prosperity, money, health, psychic awareness, love, happiness.
🎃 Ground Ginger- health, balance, grounding, love, money, success, clarity.
🎃 Allspice- health, luck, abundance, prosperity, money.
🎃 Salt- protection and purification.
🎃 Black Pepper- banish negativity, protection.
The spices don't have measurements because they're all to-taste :) add plenty!
--------------------
1. I washed the seeds after gutting the pumpkin and let them dry for a day. If you decide not to do that, make sure you wash off any pumpkin gunk and pat the seeds dry well.
2. Preheat the oven at 350°F. Cleanse your space as you choose.
3. Melt the butter, and add to it the sugar, salt, and spices. Keep in mind the magical properties of these ingredients as you add them, and how those properties will serve your intent for the year to come. Stir counterclockwise as you invision all that you'll be releasing from the past year, imagine it dissipating. Take a deep breath. Then stir clockwise as you focus on attracting all that you want for the coming year.
4. Pour the spiced melted butter over your seeds in a bowl. Mix the seeds to make sure they all get coated.
5. Place the seeds on a baking sheet or a nonstick baking pan, you want enough space for the seeds to be spaced out from each other. Doesn't have to be perfect, just make sure they're not all clumped together.
6. If you had let the seeds dry out, they will be done in about 10-15 minutes. Stir them every 5 minutes. If you didn't let them dry out, they'll be done in about 25 minutes, and still stir them every 5-10 minutes or so. They'll be done when they look caramelized and are slightly crispy.

I just made some four thieves vinegar for banishing enemies and to promote health (when consumed, as a salad dressing for example).
Recipes vary, but I used lavender, rosemary, mint (I use spearmint), thyme, and garlic. Sage optional but recommended if you know you’re not getting it from a source that contributes to over-harvesting.
I chop the herbs (I find all of these in my garden) and pour the vinegar over them in an airtight container. Shake every day for 4-6 weeks and infuse with your intentions. For banishing sprinkle on your doorstep to keep enemies away.
Charm for protection from unwanted attention
Mostly for human interaction, but depending on the intent, could work for other stuff.
Ingredients!
- banishing/protecting agent (salt, black pepper, garlic, etc.)
- cleansing agent (sage, rosemary, basil, etc.)
- luck agent (thyme, bay leaf, nutmeg, etc.)
- dust or sand
Crystals!
You don’t have to add these, but they can magnify or add to the effect really well.
- active protector to keep away whatever you’re trying to keep away (tiger eye, garnet)
- supportive protector to strengthen your emotional energy(any quartz)
Other stuff!
- container (jar, pouch, whatever)
- kitchen knife to cut up the herbs
- a clean, purified workspace
What to do!
- gather all your stuff and cleanse it beforehand
- if you’re using crystals, charge them before you start assembling the charm
- in your workspace, cut the ingredients to size so they fit in your container. You can also cut em up real small to make a layer if you’re using a jar.
- draw/carve any sigils or symbols you want on the container before you start filling.
- if you’re using crystals, put those in first to establish the foundation. They’re gonna set the tone for the charm.
- put the herbal ingredients in from greatest to least quantity. More protective herbs, more protective spell. More banishing herbs, more banishing spell. Determine an appropriate ratio for your purpose beforehand.
- put the dust or sand in last
- seal the container
- charge with whatever method you prefer. If you’re invoking a deity, now is the time to ask them for help. Make this part as ritualistic or as casual as you see fit.
- put somewhere useful! If you’re trying to prevent catcalls, you could wear it as a necklace or keep it in your bag. If you’re trying to keep solicitors away, you could put it by the entrance to your place. Whatever has significance to you.
- recharge as needed
