"masculinity is boring and restrictive and ugly and gross" maybe for you. for me its everything I have never been allowed to enjoy. cologne and suits and deep voices are all things ive found beautiful and exciting but never been allowed to have for myself. maybe it's boring and restrictive because you've never seen someone who truly does not give a shit about the rules enjoy masculinity in their way, but when you see it, it's beautiful. it's handsome. i love how many ways you can be masculine. I love how masculinity looks on people who enjoy it. I love when you can tell someone's masculinity is lived in, it's not perfect and well-defined and appropriate but it's alive and it's loved. maybe watch trans* people find liberty and joy and life in masculinity and you'll appreciate the beauty of self-expression in a society that values self-repression and self-hatred
