This take is pissing me off so Im going to just rant about it to get it out of my system.
Elon Musk's SNL bits weren't unfunny because he's autistic, they were unfunny because he's an out of touch conservative billionaire with a cult of personality who panders to online nerd communities who are obsessed with 4chan, cryptocurrency, and saying slurs as often as possible. Every time this man says a single thing it's incredibly clear he has no idea what life is like for the average person and has been spoonfed by others his entire life. He didn't start tesla, he bought it. He's more of a detriment to SpaceX than a positive. He's rich because mommy and daddy being racists in apartheid South Africa. He owns a fucking emrald mine. He calls literal heroes pedophiles for daring to criticize his stupid plans thatd kill innocents. His companies violate almost every OSHA standard (and thats just the shit in the USA) and his space company rains dangerous shit all over American cities.
People don't hate Elon Musk because he's autistic. People hate Elon Musk because he's a Captain Planet villain.
And, trying to level that disgust towards him as disgust towards autistic people is so extremely ableist. Elon Musk getting made fun of for being terrible at comedy and being an unrelatable billionaire is not the same as autistic people getting made fun of for not being able to communicate ideas.
Fuck all the way off.

Hi! I've seen a lot of information on shadow work but I've never actually been able to find a clear definition of what it is or how to start. From what I can tell it's basically spiritual self care, right?
Spiritual self care is a big part of shadow work but I usually interpret it as a "general self reflection for the betterment of your own growth."
This includes learning about your psychology, your triggers, observing your patterns and learning about where those patterns stem from and when you first began to develop those patterns for the purpose of survival.
Some people believe that psychology and shadow work are separate but I personally think it's pointless to separate it since the basis of "shadow work" comes from the idea of having a "shadow self" which was coined by psychologist Carl Jung: (LINK) Separating psychology from shadow work when it was created by a psychologist keeps people from seeing how important psychology is when it comes to spiritual work.
Can people do shadow work in the care of a psychologist/psychiatrist? Or by using psychological based self-help books? YES!!!
My own deepest shadow work has come from both psychologists as well as self help books.
My advice:
-If you have access to a good therapist be sure to take good notes on their advice and work on yourself using the tools they give you since they have studied the human mind on a professional level. The word therapy stems from the ancient Greek verb: ΞΔÏαÏΔÏÏ (the-ra-pe-u-o, in this version of the verb it translates to "I do therapy") which literally translates to "honor, worship, heal, cure, tend" and was used when one would honor the gods.
-If you do not have access to a good therapist search for self-help books! You are always welcome to look for books on shadow work but you can also look up self-help books in the discount section of book stores or sites that will be very effective in helping you learn more about who you are.
-Do both therapy and self-help books: if you have access to it, be sure to do both. Go to a professional who can help tailor it to your specific needs and read self-help books and talk to your therapist about it to see if it'll help with what you two are focusing on.
-Journal: When it comes to self analysis, journaling is SO IMPORTANT! Because it helps you keep a record of what's happening. It can be as easy as you just writing how you feel and why you feel that way. Be sure to explore a reoccurring feeling especially when it's triggered by a specific action/person/event. Look up writing psychological journal prompts and be open to what you'll find out about yourself.
-Do not judge, just observe: We come from a very judgemental society that makes us afraid of learning "dark things" about ourself but that's literally the point of shadow work. Your psyche will be less likely to want to open up if you are actively judging it instead of simply observing it. Things happen, we pick up bad habits, we fear things that don't always make sense, we internalize hatred, etc. Society teaches you to constantly judge yourself but you won't grow from something you actively avoid out of fear of learning about it. Observe it, learn about it's existence and work to change it only when you have identified it.
-Talk to people you trust: But please ask if they have the spoons for it first. Everyone goes through shadow work regardless of spiritual life or religion, as long as you are living you are learning about yourself and trying to improve it. Your friends/family/loved ones may not have the spoons to listen or may not have the time and that's okay. They also may not be professionally equipped to handle the information or to help so while talking to them is a great way to listen to yourself and figure out what you need to focus on, understand that they won't always have the answers and may get overwhelmed by your personal baggage when they are also trying to figure themselves out.
I hope this helps!
Hi friends âš
Itâs been a little while since Iâve been truly active here, but Iâm feeling a surge in my desire to hone my craft. I donât know how active Iâll be from here on out, but Iâm going to try to be here more often. For now, I did have a question: what resources have you found that you absolutely love that arenât tied to Wicca? Iâm not Wiccan, but so many books and sites Iâve encountered are either Wicca-specific or are tied to Wiccan practices. Please send me your recommendations!
Thank you lovelies, and happy new year â€ïž -Firefly
