A/N: these were written YEARS ago and most of them are just snippets (ie. literal sentences) of whatever fantasy was floating around in my brain at the time. just keeping them on the list for the sake of organization

Thalia's point of view must be so surreal because imagine the horror, the tragedy, and the cruelty, of dying... but then not. but you're not alive either. At least, not in the way you used to be. You're more or less caught, trapped, in this liminal state of being. You're still growing... but when you wake up you're not the age you should be. And suddenly, the little seven year old girl you helped protect and cared for and treated as your little sister is practically your age now. And your best friend, a boy that was a mere two years older than you is now a grown man, hardened and distorted by the very hate you saw the beginnings of. that you commiserated with.

and then thinking more about Luke's point of view because for him, Thalia did die. And not just that but, she died for him, for Annabeth. And Luke mourned her. He carried anger for her, grief for her. Her death was a defining moment for him, molded him, was more evidence of the gods' callousness and disregard... but then, just like that, she's not dead. And suddenly, that girl who understood you better than anyone, the girl who cursed the gods with you, who fought side by side with you, is now looking at you like you're the monster.

*Gets on top of the pedestal and clears throat*

LISTEN TO ME, WHEN INEJ SAID "I WILL HAVE YOU WITHOUT ARMOR, KAZ BREKKER, OR I WILL NOT HAVE YOU AT ALL," SHE WASN'T DEMANDING A SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP FROM HIM, ALL SHE SAID WAS "WORK ON YOUR TRAUMA, I'LL WORK ON MINE, WE WILL BUILD STRONGER EMOTIONAL TRUST AND IMPROVE OPEN HEALTHY COMMUNICATION OF OUR PERSONAL ISSUES, AND THEN WE CAN BE TOGETHER FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES!!!"

THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!!

It’s stupid, but somehow, I want to delude myself into thinking that I can ignore the fact that Rhysand is back in Velaris. Because if I can ignore it all, then I can continue with my life, without acknowledging the fact that it feels like my entire world has been shaken, stirred, and turned inside out.

In my silence, I can feel Azriel’s focus on me. I shift my gaze from my near-empty plate to meet his eyes.

“You saw him, didn’t you.” His words are quiet yet certain.

Shock courses through me. “How’d you know?”

When Thor went off after killing Thanos, did anyone bother to check up on him? Send a call, a postcard, anything? Nope!

When Natasha died, even though they didn't have her body, did they try to hold a ceremony or vigil in her honor? No, they just threw a bench over a lake

This is one of the reasons Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will always be better to me, because they were a family. They genuinely cared about one another and wanted the best for each other

When Daisy went rogue, Coulson spent months searching for her. Not because "Quake" was a vigilante, because he wanted her to be safe. Because he knew she would heal better with them

When Fitz was locked up by the US military, Hunter came to his aid. They escaped and when it turned out they needed to go back, he didn't protest, because he knew Fitz would eventually succeed. Because he knew that he needed the pod to save the others

When Daisy was let go from Hive's sway and she had so much self-loathing, Mack was by her side. He held her and hugged her and assured her that everything was okay, that she was a good person, even as she was trying to hit him. And when she ended up collapsing and crying in his arms, he stayed with her

The Avengers are fine. Okay, they're. Fine. But they're nowhere near being a family like the S.H.I.E.L.D. team is

It makes me so sad that people who have watched Shadow and Bone for The Crows but didnt read the books have no idea who Colm is and will never meet him. The most moderately okay father figure ever, who found out his son was invested in organized crime, yelled at him a bit, then immediately started helping with the crime and essentially took it upon himself to adopt the rest of his son's criminal friends

eating pastries is so humiliating cause you'll be having the time of your life having it and then when you're finished you look down and you're covered in flakes and sugardust like fuuuck now everyone is going to know i'm a messy pastry whore

it is so dumb that in hoo the narrative blames percy for not double checking that the gods freed calypso. first of all it is not his fault that they broke their promise. second of all he was abducted less than four months after they made the promise, then he was in a coma, then he woke up with amnesia, then he had to fight in a new war. he was BUSY

the whole concept of calypso’s continued imprisonment being percy’s fault was introduced by a literal demon psychologically torturing him in the depths of hell and then in the rest of the books rick was like yep, that is the correct thing to take away from the story. what is going on

someone in the tags brought up bianca’s death and that’s a great example of this done right. bianca’s death was not percy’s fault, but he did struggle with understandable survivor’s guilt about it. nico blamed percy for it to cope with his grief. the subplot resolves when bianca’s ghost visits, doesn’t blame percy, and tells nico he needs to let go of his grudge and allow himself to accept the loss. in short—certain characters blame him, but the narrative doesn’t.

it would make sense for percy to struggle with guilt about calypso (and bob, and damasen for that matter). it would make sense for his adversaries to throw it in his face to achieve their own ends. it could even, potentially, make sense for calypso to blame percy and curse annabeth in a weak moment of despair and anger at her fate. it does not make sense for the subplot to resolve with percy accepting responsibility or doing penance as if he actually neglected her (or them).

Some of you have never married a girl you thought you didn't love to protect her reputation then realized you were actually always madly in love with her but she had run off to Paris with your best friend who was also in love with her and your dad didn't let you go to Paris because your little sister had run off to bring back from the dead her ghost boyfriend with the help of a crazy-looking immortal purple-eyed man and it shows.

i love the line in acosf “feyre cursebreaker would not forgive me for killing her sister” because it proves a lot of feyre haters wrong in one simple line.

1) “she’s not powerful” really??? explain why everyone’s scared of her over cassian AND rhys (both who also have reasons to protect nesta)

2) “she doesn’t really care about nesta/ her sisters” again, really?? even the illyrians know that she would protect them, damn the consequences
