we were flowers our stems intertwined like our souls closer and closer as time passed the issue, though, my dear, is that i was a sunflower and you were a rose i grew taller and taller, reaching for the sun. you remained close to the ground. you grew thorns that pierced my skin deeper and deeper the closer we grew. your crimson petals stained with my blood the exact same shade. you tore me apart until i split and fell to the ground i can’t reach the sun anymore.
we were flowers.
