Something I'd really like to hear more of in podcasts is characters who are or are in systems. And are not treated as scary because of that.

This is actually something I'm hoping to do with the audio drama that i'm currently working on! (name pending, as of right now :P.) I'm a system myself, and have similarly wished for more representation (like,,, at all, but especially in audio dramas,) so when i finally decided to just. actually make the podcast I've been wanting to make for years, I figured it'd be the perfect opportunity!

I plan for it to be a mystery/sci-fi/urban fantasy show, centered around Addison, a paranormal investigator who's just upended her entire life to move to the small town of Willowswake, a notorious town with thousands of supposed supernatural sightings.

I don't want to spoil things too much, as Addison's past is going to be a central part of the story's mysteries and plot, but a significant part of the show is going to be revolving around her own plurality, as she figures out how to live as a newly discovered system. I'm really excited to working be with these themes and sharing them with a wider audience, so i wish I could say that this is a series that'll be coming out in a month or two, but unfortunately I am a 1 woman team (well, for a given value of 1 woman. there are many women involved, but only the one body with which to work on it :/) and this is my first time working in the medium as well, so progress will be... inevitably slow.

What We Owe

What We Owe is a podcast that follows a young horde of vampires in the modern day, a world in which the creatures of the night are a known factor. Neither hunted nor entirely accepted, the life of a vampire is one of constant distrust, weighing every relationship with a mortal to feel out if they will be one of the few willing to accept their existence, or if they'll be in the majority, those who only pay lip service to equality. In this state of constant uncertainty, many young vampires choose to hide their nature around mortals - and though that can work for a time, hiding that part of themselves comes at a cost. A weight on the soul beyond even their undeath, only amplified by knowing that, if they *were* to be found out, the fact that they hide their nature would only be used as evidence that they *are* the type of dangerous, secretive, lying vampire that is so often held up as the worst of their kind.

So, in their state of constant low level fear and isolation, they often seek out other vampirekind, forming communities outside of the purview of the mortals. But just because they find comfort in them, doesn't mean that they don't have their dark sides too. Our leading cast, a horde of young vampires who, for whatever reason, have found cause to retreat from the living world, are about to find this out for themselves, first hand.

They live communally, in a shared house run by an ancient vampire, who has existed since the days when vampires and humans warred night and day, when they practiced their darker arts, of thralling, enchantment, cursing. Brought together under this one Old Lord's roof, willingly, yet unwittingly, our heroes have put their lives into his hands. At first it is the pure pleasure of belonging, not having to hide your nature. Then, the hands tighten. The rules get stricter, the hour later. Visitors are denied, curfews are appointed, and soon even their behavior in the house is being controlled. What motive does their new Lord serve? To what end is his control working towards? Is the price of community a worthy one - or more, is this the price of *all* community? Is it better to languish in isolation amongst people, who, if they knew the true you, would shun you, or to find camaraderie with those who understand you, even at the cost of freedom?

As tensions build between the horde, their Lord, and their mortal connections, no one can be fully trusted. Even those who appear to wish harm cannot be entirely believed - sometimes, the path to a healed wound requires pain, first. And as things come to a head, the members of the horde itself start to turn on each other, their ties and allegiances pulling taut, turning the web of community into a noose that threatens to strangle the fragile peace that's only so recently been found.

Vital Signs

This podcast is a supernatural slice of life drama, following the story of Lily, a young office worker, who, after a routine doctor's visit, is shocked to discover that she does not have a heart. literally.

After a series of expensive tests, scans, and not-quite-invasive investigations (none of which her health insurance covers, naturally) she gets the conclusive results back. Though she has a pulse, veins with blood pumping through them, the place in her chest where a heart should be is simply empty. The blood moves through her veins seemingly without cause. The doctors are baffled - by all rights, she should be dead. By all rights, she should never have survived being *born*, if this were the strange birth condition that they can only assume it must be.

Despite it all, the clamor of the doctors, the cross referenced advice for care, treatment, plans for moving forward, Lily cannot bring herself to go on with any of them. Not even counting the medical bill steadily racking up in the background - when she looks into the eyes of the specialists and doctors, she doesn't find care in them. No compassion for her position, despite them ostensibly being the ones with hearts... they aren't in this for her.

It's only then that she realized that *no one* is in this for her. No one in her entire life. Her family doesn't believe her, even with photographic proof. Her coworkers sympathize, but what can they do? Her friends... well, she doesn't have any to begin with.

Vital Signs follows Lily from this place of abject solitude, as she slowly begins to work out what her newly realized situation means for her, on top of juggling life responsibilities, the pressure of medical bills, and the crushing loneliness of being surrounded by a thousand hands, but being loathe to accept any of them.

What happened to her heart? Did she lose it? Was it stolen? Can she get it back, or did she never have it in the first place? Does she even *want* it back? Does it make her a bad person if she doesn't? Has this happened to anyone else before? What else might Lily discover on her journey, about herself and others?

All these questions and more are answered in this four part supernatural drama, coming soon to ears near you.

Grand, Upright, and Everything In Between

A small anthology series told in vignettes from the perspective of a piano tuner in a steampunk 50's era alt history New York City. Follow our nameless piano tuner as they fix up pianos in the grandest ballrooms, the smallest cramped living spaces, and hear the stories of each piano and their owners as they filter through the wooden panels of a piano. Slowly, you'll get to know the story behind the tuner themself - why they don't play the piano any more, their ambitions, dreams, failures, and enemies. And, with the grand unveiling of a brand new steam dirigible, outfitted with luxurious amenities (including a ballroom with one of the most beautiful pianos ever made) on the horizon, both the tuner and the audience will learn the power of a little bit of knowledge applied in the right place and right time. Who is better to sabotage a hidden plot born out of rivalry, revenge, and petty anger, than the one person who never gets the spotlight to begin with?
