Arrows of Artemis, Aim of Athena

Lately I've had an interest in the Greek goddesses, particularly Artemis and Athena, because they were strong in action, steadfast in mind, and stable in heart. I joke often about living an itinerant lifestyle and not being in control of what I'll be doing next, of in fact, not usually knowing what I'll be doing until I'm doing it, but really, who of us really has control over our lives? What we do have control over is our reaction. And I hope mine will depict a great and beautiful picture of stregth, steadfast, and stability.

Today I cuddled, kissed, hugged, tickled, and played with an incredible little boy who was a baby just last week, it sometimes seems. He's so smart, funny, sweet, silly, and so much more, and tomorrow, he will start preschool, where I hope his teachers and peers will get the chance to learn all this about him for themselves. Also #flashback to Violet's big adventure last week. We took her to the ER Thursday night because her cough was getting deeper and it turned out to be a smart move because she had RSV, the baby form of bronchiolitis. The only time she seemed not well was when they took blood from her since she doesn't like needles, but the rest of the time we were there she was playing with everyone and really seemed to play it up big when ever she was told she was cute and pretty. She also spent time flirting with the two young and attractive men who worked with her. Daddy realizes we're going to have to have a lot of early chats with this one! 😂 she especially enjoyed being in a corner room as all the nurses would see her and stop by to play and compliment her. As good of a mood as she was in, it was incredibly scary at the time and I got about two hours of sleep because I was too busy watching her breathing machine. We went home the very next day, and Violet's cough has minimized greatly and she's pretty much back to normal. This was definitely one of those parenting moments where you really feel that sentiment about having your heart walking around outside of your body--or in this case, crawling. 💜💝💖💚 #ladyvi #RSV
