still on my disco elysium posting but. it's the most hopeful piece of media i have experienced so far. you walk around desolation and destruction, bombed sidewalks and failed commercial areas. the kids are on the streets doing drugs and playing with armor pieces belonging to dead mercenaries. the businesses are going to fail, the revolution didn't accomplish anything. that woman's marriage is based on a lie. there's no cryptid. you're never going to get better. it would take a miracle and miracles don't happen.

but.

but there is a cryptid. the insulindian phasmid is real and the fact that this thing that is not even supposed to exists is real means everything else can be. a dance club in the church is possbile. no business has to fail. the marriage wasn't a lie. the shot of the deserter almost caused another revolution. you can get better. things can get better.

I know harry shits on himself regularly but something about the skills themselves doing it, about the things they’re supposed to be confident in, during the final dream hurts.
