Love & Misadventure by Lang Leav
Beautiful. Absolutely astonishingly beautiful. Lang Leav has such a way with words that I felt she was telling my own story through each page. Some poems made my smile, and others made my eyes fill up with tears. Never have I ever been so moved by poetry - which is saying something!
The book (anthology?) is broken up into three parts - Misadventure, The Circus Of Sorrows, and Love. It’s essentially a story of bad choices, heartbreak, and recovery. Despite it’s terrible reviews on GoodReads.com, I adored this book. I’ve read it multiple times and each time I still feel the stirring of resonance that Lang’s poems bring. Sure, it’s angst-y, but isn’t that the essence of most love/heartbreak poetry?
Favourite Quote: "Love is a game of tic tac toe, constantly waiting for the next X or O."
There is a girl who never returns her library books. Don’t give her your heart— it is unlikely you will ever see it again.
Lullabies by Lang Leav

I am
You asked me why I was
afraid to fall in love with you.
And I never really answered—
But here it is:
Because you’re perfect.
Because you’re genuine.
Because there’s no free get out of jail card
if I let myself feel what I want to.
There’s no cure for a sleepless night;
There’s no cure for a million butterflies;
There’s no cure,
and damnit, I’m terrified.
I don’t want to even begin
to fall in love with you.
But I have,
I am,
I am.
finally got my hands on this.
Then there is the boy you never stop thinking about. Whenever you see his name, it trips you up. Even it it’s one that belongs to many others, even if he belongs to someone else.
