“Bon Iver is different. Music is different, inspiration is different. Bon Iver is a mystery, and I feel like I am still not able to solve this mystery. Hope I never solve it.”

“I read once that the ancient Egyptians had fifty words for sand & the Eskimos had a hundred words for snow. I wish I had a thousand words for love, but all that comes to mind is the way you move against me while you sleep & there are no words for that.”

"Every single person will expirience 2 things. Birth and Death. Yet nobody knows what it’s like to go through neither of them."

Hannah Blanchsky : Damien woke up in a empty room. It took a moment for his eyes to readjust to the bright light, but when he did Damien realized he was sitting in front of a desk. Everything in the room seemed to have been dipped in white paint; the walls, the ceiling, floor, desk, even the little potted plant in the corner. Damien looked around dazedly, mystified on how he got there or why he was there even in the first place. Something was nagging at him, demanding his attention. He was forgetting something, something really important Before he could figure it out, the door opened and a man stepped through. He reminded Damien strongly of a businessman; closely cropped blond hair, well groomed appearance, and deep blue eyes that matched the color of his suit. The man sat down across the table from Damien and folded his hands on the desk. "I suppose you'd like to know what you're doing here, yes?" Damien shifted uncomfortably. "Yes." "You are dead." The words didn't seem to register properly in Damien's head. "I'm sorry?" "You died, and now you've come here to the Afterlife." "You must be mistaken. I can't be dead, I'm sitting right across for you," Damien said, risking a confused smile. He was beginning to suspect that the man across from him was not sound in the head. "I'm perfectly sane, thank you very much. It's you that's the issue." Damien swallowed, his mouth suddenly very, very dry. "I-I don't-" The man's face softened a bit. "Would you like me to show you?" The man pulled out a tablet from underneath the desk and placed it on the table. The screen flickered on and Damien saw firefighters running towards a crashed car. The car was completely smashed in on the front, having veered off the road and hit a tree. The firefighters reached into the car and pulled out a younger man. His face and clothes were badly bloodied and his arm was bent at a strange angle, but there was no mistaking who it was. It was Damien. Damien pushed away from the table and held his head in his hands. "Oh God," he said. Memories came flooding back. The car wheel jerking, his car yanking itself out of control. Damien was falling, falling, and then... "I'm sorry, Damien. I really am. I know death can be hard on someone, but there's something else." Damien turned back to the man, unable to believe how this could get any worse. The man's face was furrowed with concern and sympathy. "Damien, you're not supposed to be dead."

By Scrambled Greg: I broke up with my girlfriend after a 5 year relationship and then went to Japan for a year where I experienced low points I wouldn't wish upon my greatest enemy. It's taken me years to fully recover, even though I was the one who initiated the break up. You lose a lot more than you think you will. You lose an intimate relationship, quiet moments with another person, a community, a lifestyle, a value system, your best friend. You lose the possibilities of your future together. You lose the only person in the world who 'gets' you. You lose your dearest companion. You find yourself longing for them in ways that are hard to describe. And then, on top of it all, you're haunted by the possibility that you made a mistake, that perhaps you should have sorted your own problems out instead of running away... You contemplate the awful possibility that you were tricked by your careless post-modern world which made you believe you could follow your bliss and get away with it. You now hear wise men say: find something that justifies your suffering because you will suffer inevitably regardless. And so it occurs to you one day, after all, that maybe, despite the imperfections of what you had, the hardship was more justifiable than it would ever be again. You realise, despite the old adage, that there are in fact not plenty of fish in the sea. You realise how lucky you were to have had her and that moment when you ended it plays over in your mind forever. You put on a brave face. You grow up. You become strong. But deep in your heart that love is still there.
