he likes having his autonomy violated and his boundaries overruled it's literally good for him. he likes being given a meaningful task within pre-defined constraints that he absolutely must do Or Else. and he likes being packed up and kept in a box. send post.
Round 1!
whose baking is better?
Jane Franklin
Richard Wall
We have historical PROOF of Jane Franklin’s ability to win at Bake Off, she literally befriended James Clark Ross and Francis Crozier by making jam for them. Vote Lady Jane!!
Image ID: “In one particularly vivid demonstration of Jane’s ability to spin domestic talents toward her own political ends, she established a bond with Ross with a gift of homemade jam.”
She'd be one of those contestants who turns up, when the signature bake challenge for Cake Week is "Your Twist on Victoria Sponge", with a pot of her own jam made from damsons that grow on a tree at the bottom of her garden. The twist would be that as well as containing damson jam (unusual), the sponge also has ground almonds and a touch of almond essence added to it (revolutionary). I have thought about this too much. I have also watched too many episodes of GBBO.
eric foreman's life is kind of a gothic horror
i say this half-jokingly but so much of foreman's story is rooted in an inability to leave. can't leave diagnostics can't leave ppth (in contrast to thirteen. btw. the leaverrr #foreteen) can't even get out of the Cycle when house is out of the picture and instead just rotates around its axis to a different place in it. he has belief in the system's potential. the system still makes him miserable. he tries to leave and it drags him right back bc he will always be defined by his place in the Cycle both physically, locationally (diagnostics, ppth) and metaphorically (him being "house-lite" / "the only place that'll hire you is the place that hired house classic").
he can't get out!! he can only change his relationship to the space around him and even that often winds up coming in incremental movements at best!! he's in the fucking labyrinth foreverrr
