So what if I sort of repurposed this blog to become my college studyblr since I miss posting here and also my academic life has been wound intricately with dps ever since I first watched this movie in middle school
Tomorrow is my first day of college, and Iāve decided what better way to celebrate the furthering of my own education than to rewatch Dead Poets Society for the 500th time tonight?
if you are 6ā5, have glases, speak latin, greek, french and sanskrit, have a peculiar obsession towards ancient greece, a devoted stoic & rationalist, have a scar on you forehead and a chipped tooth & are planning on murdering your annoying best friend hmu
it simply is not fair that we live in a society where we have to work work work and we hardly get the space to breathe. to love. to live.
youāre telling me i canāt devote my life to my studies? i must do monotonous senselessness every single day just for the hope of getting some time for a hobby? this is preposterous. i want to read and write and grow. this world is tamping down our creativity, our spirits, our zest for life. and everyone says āthatās just how it goesā even though they, too, are slaves to the cycle. do they not notice? do they not see it? we are lying in graves we have dug ourselves, our life proving to be the thing that hastens death.
finally watched kill your darlings, and⦠historical setting? prestigious university? hedonism? murder? poetry? queer rep? based on a true story? i see now why it is such a staple in the dark academia community.

Don't hold me like you know me
I would rather burn forever
But you should know that I died slow
Running through the halls of your haunted home

in film class last year they taught us that when shooting dialogue you show connections by putting the back of someone in the shot or smth i donāt really remember BUT
in the āIām trappedā scene when Neil is telling Mr Keating about how his dad wonāt let him act it shows Mr K, therefore showing that Neil feels like Mr Keating really understands
but right after Me Keating says that Neil should tell his father it no longer shows them together in the shot because Neil feels alone again, because he realizes that Mr K doesnāt fully understand his plight
