It's been a year since You and your boyfriend, well, ex-boyfriend now, broke up.
A year since those promises,
And a year since those tears.
You both decided that you'll stay friends and friends ONLY, which didn't work out exactly as planned, considering how you're halfway hanging off the bed as he fucked you silly.
You both always been good at lying.
"S-seth!" you groaned out as you held onto the board of the bed frame that was keeping you from falling off the bed, that and your arch.
"Shhh, Sugar, just stay quiet or i'ma have to do more than just fuck you." Seth's finger meets your mouth as he gently made room to shove them into your mouth, past your lips.

The vents hummed with cool air. It was midnight. And as You let the dingy oil stain above you hypnotize you. You tried to ignore the undeniable pain in your chest, but you caved in,
You sighed and peeped over your shoulder, looking at Seth.
He was just lying there, not complaining, no snarky comments, or a sarcastic remark; he didn't even try to touch you any more than he had just done. It was like he was just thinking.
And for some reason, that was worse.
Worse than a few hours ago when he showed up at your door's front, desperate, tired, untouched. A year ago, You would've acted angry for a couple more minutes before letting him in your shared apartment, but this time, you let him in on impulse.
Before you could give it another thought Seth curls up behind your back,
A year ago, he would have had his hands around your waist, kissing down your spine until You claimed to not be mad at him anymore for coming home drunk, greasy, and beaten up.
But now there was only distance and a mutual feeling of dread,
The helplessness of what he'll do when you're gone.
"Don't look at me like that" He scoffed. You could feel his breath on the middle of your back.
"like what?" You mumbled, and he gave a dry laugh, "Like you're about to make me leave again."
His words hit you harder than you thought they would.
"I won't," you mumbled, turning to face him
"That's laughable." He looks into your eyes, and you saw the exhaustion in his. The hurt. "Because that's what happened last time."
"No, just forget it." He ran his hand through his hair and sighed deeply into his palm.
"Do you know how many times I was seconds away from calling you?" He asked quietly, departing his gaze. "How many times I picked my phone up and stared at your contact just to put it back down?"
You swallowed your words, the words you wanted to yell out. To cry out.
"Seth, please-" you pleaded,
"Why couldn't you keep loving me?" His voice cracked around the question "Why'd we have to break up?"
His words pained you to hear, and he always had a way of making you feel things you didn't want to.
"I did love you!" you exclaimed
he laughed bitterly once more before he stood up.
"That was the problem, Sugar, you did love me."
You got on your feet as well.
"That's not fair Seth, You know that." You argued
The first time, in a long time, you saw that he was angry.
He was angry with himself.
At the situation he put you both in.
At the fact that after a year, you both didn't know how to stop loving each other.
"Well then, tell me what is fair." He scoffed, "What's fair?"
"'Cause from where I'm looking, I'm tryna forget someone right in front of me."

You were pushing him out of the room into the dim hallway, and all you could do is be reminded about how it was when you both were dating.
When he came home, bruised, covered, bloody knuckled, and lying about being okay. When you had to care for all his wounds and bruises? When you believed that maybe, just maybe, that it would hurt you less if you both just broke up.
That way you didn't have to seem him like that.
"You think I wanted this?" You yelled, still shoving him through the hall. He didn't fight you back; instead, he just let you push him, while he yelled back.
Seth scoffed, but there wasn't any bite behind it this time.
"I don't know what you want."
"Maybe that's the problem"
Seths eye snapped onto yours
"You never listen" you exclaimed, and admittedly wish you could take you words back,
"You heard. Those are two different things." Your voice shook slightly, and his jaw clenched.
"I told you that I hated it when you left for days on end, with no message, no letter, no call. Not even a sign! I told you how I hated it when you came back home all you did was apologize,"
"How it was all just "work", when I was seconds away from filing for a missing person!" You hit his chest.
Seth looked away, letting it happen.
After all, he deserved it.
"I told you, I loved you," he mumbled.
"I loved you too." You pushed yourself off of him. "I loved you so much that it hurt me."
