I miss bein here.
Day 2 - I believe in you, Alvin. I know you won’t let me fall.
The young girl returned the squeeze on her friend’s hand equally if not tighter. She wasn’t even thinking about it, but it was really important for her that Jude be cheerful and carefree. She’d seen enough of his teary or emotionless face whenever his dad had scolded him.
At his words, she ran to the bench only to suddenly stop in her tracks, letting the soles of her shoes take the blunt of her sudden braking. “Good catch, little brother!” Leia bent down and got on her knees, not caring that they were getting dirty and that she wasn’t being feminine at all. She picked up the gald and presented it to Jude, grinning ear to ear. “This is the ancient Wyvern treasure and we have to protect it!!”
Jude was taken by surprise when she stopped so suddenly, and he almost crashed into her but managed to stay upright, just barely. Inside him there was this sense of excitement that kept growing moment by moment. Little brother… that had a nice ring to it! Though he wasn’t sure what it was like to have siblings, he felt sure Leia was the closest he had. She really seemed to understand, sometimes– Jude gave an excited gasp at their new find.
“The ancient Wyvern treasure? Wow!” His little hands reached for the shiny coin so that he could get a better look too.
“What was it doing all the way out here, big sister? Do you think… no it couldn’t be…?” The boy grinned, waving his arms for emphasis. “It must have been stolen from the secret Wyvern vault! Or something?”
driftingjazzbard:
“I’ve been pretty much everywhere you can think of, Dr. Mathis, and probably some places you can’t.” Although she had heard his whole saving-the-world trip had taken him hither and yon across both worlds, or continents now. But racing to stop madmen from doing awful things didn’t exactly leave time for meandering as she did.
“I’ve been travelling around Rieze Maxia for about ten years now.” For one reason or another, more now because she liked it than anything else thankfully. In that time she’d learned rumors like these, while usually untrue, almost always led to something of interest.
“If you’ve got business to take care of I can wait, otherwise I’m always pretty ready to start out.” She pointed a thumb at her massive pack.
“Ten years? Wow!” Jude’s eyes were alight with the spark of admiration and a little curiosity. “You must have seen a lot of amazing things, you’ll have to tell me all about your travels sometime.” It was exciting at first to think of such a wild, carefree life, but on the other hand after mulling it over Jude already knew that kind of life wasn’t for him. The stories and tales of mystery would have to do.
He thought about any tasks he had to finish before taking off, but really if Balan said it was alright there wasn’t anything else that needed doing. He’d left on much shorter notice than this before, after all, and the younger absently crossed his arms again. “I guess I’m ready as I’ll ever be. Maybe on the way out of town I’ll buy a new bed roll, I’ve been needing one anyways.”
“Well, guess I’ll consider myself pretty lucky, then.” Alvin decided that the bacon was probably too hot to pilfer straight from the pan, not that he wasn’t tempted. “Need a hand?” It looked like the kid had the stove well under control, but there were napples and poranges set out on the cutting board, untouched.
“Think the girls’ll be up soon, or should we plan on breakfast in bed for ‘em?”
“Oh!” Jude smiled broadly, impressed. “That’s really thoughtful coming from you, Alvin.”
He paused while the bacon continued sizzling in the background, and used his head to point at a stack of clean plates on the counter next to the fruit. “Want to start making plates?”
After a moment’s lull Jude chuckled lightly to himself. “I sure hope they don’t get too used to this.” He knew Leia would never let him live it down. Knowing her, she’d start demanding breakfast in bed every morning if she thought she could get away with it...

“Balan, this tastes awful! I can’t imagine poison tasting much worse.... how can anyone drink this?”
~2 Years Later~
“Sometimes four cups just isn’t enough, Balan. Sometimes it’s just not enough.”
Alisha rubbed her head, noticing the slight knot, then looked back up. She’d fallen quite a way– she couldn’t even see where she’d fallen from– she supposed it was good she didn’t seem more seriously harmed.
What little light there was, was dim, filtered. Either she was far underground… or she been out so long that the sun had set.
Oh dear. She hoped Sorey and the others weren’t too worried. Though… she also hoped they were looking for her.
She heard a noise– a foot stepping on a bit of loose rock?– and her head immediately turned that direction, her hand reaching for her spear.
“Who’s there? Show yourself!”
@strawberry-healer
Jude felt unsteady as the rock beneath him began to slip, the small brook he had been crossing had seemed largely untouched by humans and the natural stepping stone didn’t seem all too stable. He stumbled forward slightly and leaves crunched underfoot as he reached the ground again before straightening up. “Wait, hold on! I--”
It was suddenly apparent to Jude that maybe this hadn’t been one of his best ideas... but when he had seen her slip from the path earlier, he couldn’t just sit idly by. It would have taken far longer to call for help, and he knew it was something he could handle alone. Or, so he had thought anyway. The young healer held up his hands with a nervous waver to his words.
"I’m sorry for intruding, I'm just here to help.” He stared at her spear in the tall grass, wondering if she would try to use it, and trying to prepare for the worst.
Setsuna tried not to feel awkward, flinching as Jude started unwrapping his eye. He was still trying to get used to the lack of vision, he knew the eye was gone.
“I can only imagine how bad it looks.”
“It’s not so bad...” Jude’s expression dimmed slightly, he had hoped there would be a little less scarring but overall it seemed there were no infections, at least. “You’re still here, and you accomplished what you set out to do. I think you have a lot to be proud of.”
Wandering deep into that thought, old memories came to light. It wasn’t too different from that time when Milla... it seemed so long ago now. “I’ve had patients who bounced back from all sorts of injuries, so... don’t let this bring you down, alright?”
He turned to Setsuna with a renewed, hopeful look after disposing of the bandage. “How are you feeling? Does it sting at all now that it’s exposed to the air?”
“Time for the bandages to come off? Are you sure, Dr. Mathis? I barely feel like I’m functioning with one eye as it is.” Setsuna asked, continuing to be polite. It had been weeks, he was still learning how to adjust to half his vision. But… he trusted Jude.
@strawberry-healer
“It’s been a week, hasn’t it?” Jude glanced over the other’s expression, wondering if there was some reason Setsuna would want to keep the bandages on. Trying to mask his curiosity, the healer moved forward, about to start undoing the cloth wrap. “Don’t worry, it’s going to get better from here on out. That’s a promise.”
Jude’s Japanese VA has the cutest laugh I’m... and his impersonation of Teepo too omfg and talking about the scene in the beginning where Milla almost drowns him.
“I guess…” Leia wasn’t too enthusiastic about winning, not with a lucky punch and getting him injured like this. “But I’m the one who’s sorry, okay, not you!” she shouted like it was some kind of competition, Leia being too clumsy to apologize properly.
She let go of his shoulder, noticing he was trying really hard not to cry. A distraction; she needed to make a distraction to help! “Oh look over there~ That must have been the legendary red wyvern! Let’s chase it!” Leia pulled on her friend’s hand to incite him into a jog towards the cobblestone street. Playing by the docks with the ocean’s breeze would do him well! “I’m a baby wyvern! And… so are you! We’re brother and sister.”
“Huh?” Jude flinched and gave her a confused look at the sudden outburst, startled enough to forget mostly everything else. He straightened up and though he felt a little sorry for not putting up more of a fight, at least Leia didn’t seem mad about it.
“W-Wyvern?” Pulled along behind her, he gave a small laugh, the tears all but gone. “Where are we going, Leia?”
“Oh!” Brother and sister, huh? He smiled and even if he recognized the distraction for what it was, it had the same effect. Leia always knew how to cheer him up somehow... she was a good friend. Excitedly he squeezed her hand, as they ran ahead he noticed something. “Oh hey, someone must have dropped a piece of gald!” It glinted up ahead next to a bench, so Jude pointed straight ahead before they sprinted right past it.
I’m trying to figure out if anyone wants to keep old threads, i know there are a couple i still am planning to work on that people asked about, but definitely message me if you have a favorite thread of ours! I’ll try to get it replied to asap. I know it’s been a long time, sorry guys.
As soon as I get myself writing more I will start new threads with whoever wants to, reblog some starter memes, etc. Just right now I’m trying to keep it simple, and get some life back into this blog.

⚜——Milla paused as she looked at judge with a nod, “I wouldn’t mind trying your Stew.” Even though the female had no clue what it was or why she had to have it to replish her energy Maxwell nodded her head still blushing from her growling stomach. “I’ve never heard of this Stew before what exactly is in it Jude?”
Even though her words sounded a little hash her actions was no more then a look a of a puppy dog, tilting her head to the side as such she waited for the medical student to respond.
“Here--” With her nod as encouragement, Jude poured a generous amount of stew into one of their wooden bowls before handing it over gently. “It’s easier if you just try it first, the taste is a little hard to describe.”
He poured some for himself, too, feeling a little nervous with Milla gazing at him like that though it was interrupted shortly, and he laughed quietly at the noise her stomach made. “I guess the main ingredients are meat, potatoes, and carrots. Actually, I should have asked, do you like any of those things?”
"Juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude!" Her voice can be heard as she comes bounding over from the opposite direction.
“Leia?!” He turned his head and one possible future unfolded in slow motion, Jude saw himself being knocked to the floor by a tackle hug if he wasn’t careful, and barely had time to think as he yelled, “Hey, slow down!”
