"A relationship is about inventing your own language. You've got the jokes, you've got the songs, you have this anecdote that's going to make you laugh three years later. It's this language that you build. That's what you mourn for when you're losing someone you love. This language you're not going to speak with anybody else."

What a Strange Girl - Little Women x Autistic! Reader
Note: I originally posted this set of headcanons to my Wattpad and AO3 accounts, but wanted to share it here as well. I hope you enjoy these various characters x reader ideas! :)
Meg: Meg initially laughs, unwillingly, alongside her 'friends' who make fun of Y/N for not wanting to dress up or dance at the party.
"I don't particularly care for the fuss and feathers," Y/N said to themselves as the group of girls laughed. They hadn't intended the phrase to be funny.
When Meg notices that Y/N has disappeared from the gathering, she tells her friends that they must be shy. Meg searched for Y/N while she danced, only to find herself injured by her ill-fitting shoes.
Meg gives Y/N a quiet smile and a gentle nod when she sees them sitting alongside Jo and the new neighbor boy, Laurie, on the porch.
Meg is an excellent friend to Y/N and does not care if her 'friends' poke fun at their oddly specific needs. Meg would graciously spend her last penny if it meant her true friend could feel less discomfort about their attire.
Jo: Y/N and Jo are at odds when they first meet. The two of them had nearly run into each other on their way to the sitting room during the party.
"Dear me, I'm terribly sorry! I did not mean to offend. I was just on my way to a quieter place. One where the people are not so..." Y/N said anxiously.
"Forward? Abnoxious? Attempting to spend the night chasing down innocent people who want nothing to do with their romances?" Jo said slyly.
Y/N agreed with Jo on many things. Both of them seem to have a particular aversion towards society's expectations for young people like them. Although Y/N seemed to be more frightened about the social consequences for those who were more noticeably 'different.'
When the time came for Jo to open her schoolhouse for troubled boys and girls, Y/N was one of her most memorable advisers.
Beth: Beth and Y/N were both very kindhearted individuals. Some may say they were even kindred spirits.
However, Beth and Y/N had been too shy to speak aloud during their first meeting. Y/N fidgeted with the blades of grass on their side of the picnic blanket while Beth and Frank Vaughn sat beside them.
"That's a spectacular skill there," Frank told Y/N when he saw the way they had braided the grass in their hands. Beth nodded in agreement, smiling softly as she followed Y/N's instructions to make her own chain.
"Oh, Beth," Y/N cried in their room. Beth had fallen ill again, which worried the March family and all those who knew the gentle soul of Beth. "Please, don't go."
"I must," Beth said weakly. "But don't let Jo know just yet, promise me you'll remain friends with all of us, forevermore." Y/N nodded tearfully, saying goodbye to their kindred spirit, Beth for the last time. Y/N kept the promise 'forevermore.'
Amy: "Why do I have to stay here while you all go to the theatre?" Amy pouted.
Y/N fidgeted anxiously as Amy continued to make a fuss over not being invited to the theatre with them. "Amy, please do not be offended. I promise, if you are good and don't make any more of a fuss, I shall," Y/N bit their lip, thinking of the deal they were about to make. "I shall let you dress me up however you please for the next occasion."
Amy's eyes lit up, and she smiled sweetly enough to change the tone of the evening. "You promise?"
Years later, Y/N had joined Laurie for a stroll around a small lakeside. It was a friendly event, yet Amy seemed to dislike the idea greatly.
It wasn't until a week after the occasion that Y/N began to suspect that Amy had an interest in Laurie. That is, when Amy confronted Y/N about her 'relationship' with Laurie. "Oh, Amy! That is why you were so upset about Laurie and me going to the lakeside? I hadn't even thought of it that way." Y/N laughed until Amy came to kinder senses.
Laurie: "Oh, no! Stay if you'd like," the young man replied with a laugh as Jo and Y/N walked into the room. They hadn't realized there was another person who wanted to get away from all the fuss.
"You don't mind?" Y/N furrowed their brows in confusion. They'd considered the offer for a moment before they had the slightest idea that Laurie may have just been being polite.
"I don't mind," Laurie replied with a smile.
Later in the evening, Y/N laughed aloud at Laurie's antics. "You know better than to think that, surely? What if someone saw?" The young man had suggested that the three of them: Jo, Y/N, and himself, take the 'stage' known as the porch during the night to get away from their 'captors.'
Many years later, Y/N went on to travel with Laurie and Mr. Laurence to see the world and refresh their minds. Y/N, one to never forget a face, was the first to notice Amy in the carriage with her grandmother. Yet, Amy, not one for shyness, called out to the two young people in a flurry of words. Y/N was one of the first to congratulate Amy and Laurie on their new engagement when they announced it.
Professor Bhaer: "Jo, you're on fire," Y/N said, tilting their head at the sight of their friend's burning skirt. Y/N had been watching the fireplace absentmindedly out of pure curiosity. The flames were enchanting to their line of sight, distracting Y/N from their work.
"Y-You're on fire!" Professor Bhear called out more frantically before the flame was put out. "I certainly hope that was the first time that has ever happened." Professor Bhear sighed.
"Unfortunately, my dearest friend here, Jo, has a knack for lighting herself aflame." Y/N smiled slightly.
Y/N yelped as they accidentally pricked their finger on their sewing needle. "Ouch! I tried to warn her. But it seems I was distracted myself."
"Yes, intelligent minds do often appear to be distracted. Perhaps I must keep an eye on both of you. I would not want you to fall victim to a sleeping curse at the hands of a sewing needle." Professor Bhaer said kindly. Y/N was known for their love of fairytales, often listening to Professor Bhaer as he read to his students in German.

choosing to ignore my weirdly symbolic dream because i have a lot going on rn already
thinking a lot about journaling & journaling systems. i’ve been rereading the collected journals of writers i love (susan sontag in particular) and texts on writing by other writers i love (joan didion and bell hooks im looking at you!) and wondering how the simple act of taking pen to paper has become so so complicated. perhaps it’s due to marketing and hyperconsumerism, but journaling has become an activity more about the stationery themselves rather than the act. and i absolutely love stationery, i love my fountain pens and the wonderful experiencing of writing on creamy midori md paper. but i have been so focused on the materials, of perfecting a journaling system with the perfect pens, notebooks, and accessories, rather than the actual action of journaling, of writing to know what i think, paraphrased from didion.
Something I feel so deeply too. Very well put.
Friendly Reminder!
This is your friendly reminder to take a break, drink some water, and eat something because I have spent nearly the past 12 hours straight writing and rewriting short stories with little to no other nourishment. I feel a bit insane, I won't lie. Please take care of yourselves, my friends!

I am of the belief that most movies would be improved by having a gay relationship. Like imagine lisa frankenstein but she is a lesbian.
Hello! I made this sketch because (1) I think it would be so cool if they were both girls and (2) I cannot draw guys. So, it’s a win-win?
