Last Saturday I had a chance to be at 13/14u baseball tryout. We have a great group of coaches that will putting their hart and soul into making this team understand the process of better ball players. ⠀ •⠀ Our performance staff will be working with this team twice a week to help them improve their coordination, move more efficiently while also improving their speed and strength. ▶️Acceleration◀️⠀ One of the best ways for athletes to get “faster” is learning how to accelerate. ⠀ I hear a lot of sport coaches yelling at their athletes to “take bigger strides” when they run (top 📽). Speed can be developed!⠀ Like any skill, speed can be practiced. But if you are practicing a skill that is not efficient, does not improve, or worse yet could cause issues later, what are you really practicing??🤔⠀ ⠀ Speed drills when performed with the right purpose, can help improve things like posture (stying tall), force production (power), and coordination.
