"Hey no don't worry about it. My supplies are fine and I'm telling you this is what I'm doing. Don't fight me on this kid, I will win." Besides, a little bit of extra kindness cost him nothing in the long run. "I'd rather not have to see you back here in a few weeks because you have quartz sliced from head to ass of the underside so call it an investment."
emmet made a face but let out a sigh and didn't fight it further, "fine but at least let me give you something in return. i know how to sew and make clothes so if any of your clothes need to be fixed come to the stitch in thyme and i can fix it up free of charge." it was really the only thing he could offer at the time since lucas wasn't going to take actual payment for it. "well i appreciate it and the car will too." emmet said with a chuckle.
"You don't think I'm angry? I tried to get myself killed in the most violent way I could think of. I was mad at everyone. Mad at the world. It's my anger that motivates me because I'd rather watch faerune burn than see it in the hands of Opal for much longer." She moved looking over the map of the city she had laid out. "There are people with ties to the royal family already in Faerune but that's not what I'm looking for. I need someone with a strong enough claim it will threaten Opal."
"i get that but i'd rather protect her from this for as long as i can, i'd rather her have the knowledge to say she didn't know if something happened is all." zeke followed behind her, looking at the map as well. "so you don't want the person to join us you just want confirmation that they exist?" he asked raising an eyebrow, making sure he understood.
"Look if you're having a hard time deciding what you want I'll give you a discount if you get all the ones you've been looking at" Ellis offered, as the other had been there for what seemed to be forever. The hybrid had almost completely sold out of the goods he'd piled into his VW bus for the day, and he was getting close to packing up and going home. If only this guy would make up his mind.

emmet didn't think he was standing there for that long, then again he can be pretty indecisive so it probably was. "sorry," he mumbled with a sheepish smile, "yeah just give me one of everything i looked at. if i don't like it oh well, no harm done." he said with a shrug, getting out his wallet, "what do i owe you?"
I don't really like myself without you Every song I sing is still about you Save me from myself the way you used to 'Cause I don't really like myself without you I really wish I hated you A little drunk, waiting on your phone call A little numb, maybe I can't feel at all You stitch me up, but you can't stop me bleeding out I'm better when I'm broken
"Aw you really want my company that badly? And here I thought you didn't like me all that much." He smirked looking over at them. "Interesting little place. I learn more and more about this city the longer I'm here."
"oh i'm thrilled to have you here," kirby said very sarcastically with a roll of their eyes. "really? what ever could've given you the idea i didn't like you? surely it has nothing to do with you beating the shit out of me." sure they were used to it by now anyway but that didn't stop them from still not liking flint. "it's more interesting when you're not around so maybe you should go back to your little palace and learn more about it there."
"Let me get whatever's the strongest drink you have in the place" Daniel told Kirby as he moved to sit in one of the empty seats at the bar. "and when you think it's strong enough make it stronger"

kirby grabbed a shot glass from behind the counter then took a long look at the guy before turning around, grabbing two more and setting them in front of him. they pulled out a bottle of spirytus and started pouring them into the glasses. "tonight's menu for you is vodka, vodka and more vodka." kirby scooted them closer to him now, wiping down the counter where they just were for any spillage that happened. "rough day, year or life?" they asked throwing the towel over their shoulder.
"Oh umm wow, okay well that sure is a way to greet someone." Matt said with a bit of a chuckle as he pulled one of the menus over to look at. "I'm guessing just walking over and saying hey I think we came from the same parent is not in the cards? Sorry, that's probably not any help. I can't say I've ever been in this type of situation. Are you sure? I mean what makes you think this guy might be your brother? You want to split one of the appetizer combos. Chicken strips, mozz sticks, fries ooo and tots oh shit and buffalo wings?!"
"sorry," they mumbled and took a deep breath in to calm their nerves. "not really, we don't exactly get along because of my tract record with the police station." kirbys wrap sheet was definitely longer than the average person and even having to spend months in jail at one point but even after that it didn't stop them from their usual antics. "i'm also not sure, i saw his eye and he's got the same eye thingy that i do, i can't remember the name of it off the top of my head but it was passed down from our dad." they ran their hands through their hair and put their head in their hands on the table, "mozzarella sticks or no deal." kirby added.
@stressball – for Emmett
Merrick was certainly not in the habit of frequenting anything other than luxury boutiques to purchase his clothes. But, sadly, being trapped inside Faerune meant that he could no longer go out to stores in the human world. So out of necessity, he had to patronize the shops in the city. Entering the Stitch in Thyme boutique, he was only one step shy of wrinkling his nose, but he kept his expression neutral enough as he approached Emmett.
“Is there any chance the selection here has improved since last time?” he inquired, “Or is that a forlorn hope?”
emmet was coming out from the back with a box in hand when he was approached, "depends." he sat the box down on the front counter to be able to hang up or put away when he was done helping. "mattie agreed to let me put out some of the clothes i make to be sold here so i guess it really depends on what you think improving or not is."
@stressball – for Kirby
Halston was not in the best of moods. Granted, he had hardly warmed up to the idea of not being able to go further than the edge of his property, along which was a constant reminder of why he could not leave, and he found himself glowering at the crystals more often than not. But he was particularly displeased today after dealing with a snooty fae who had borrowed one of his horses, and Halston had easily been able to tell the animal had not been treated right. Much as he would have liked to retaliate on behalf of the horse, he had refrained, thus was smarting over the insult both to himself and to the horse. Which meant he really needed a drink, preferably of the sanguine variety.
“Got any good, you know, vintages on tap today?” he asked the bartender in the 13th Tombstone, “‘Cause I need a real drink so damn bad.”
another day another shift for kirby but the bar was one of the only places they didn't mind being because it was a needed distract from their mind, something else to focus on during the day. they were wiping up a spilled drink off the counter when they were asked the question, throwing the towel over the shoulder. "gonna be honest dude i'm only twenty five you're gonna have to be a little bit more specific on what you mean by vintage." kirby said as they grabbed a shot glass for themselves and another glass for the customer when he was able to actually say what he meant.
@stressball – for Zeke
While Etienne was still chafing at the restrictions which had been placed on the city, knowing he was doing his part to undermine the authority had given him a bit of a spring in his step. He might have had a bit too much spring in his step though, because as he was on his way towards the Red Poppy for his night-long shift, he bumped right into someone when he rounded a corner. A lot of the time, he would have taken advantage of such a bump to go for a pocket, but this time, he kept his hands in check, and genuinely apologized.
“Ah pardon, mon frere, I didn’t see you comin’. You ok?”
the bump didn't really cause zeke to react outside of now being mildly annoyed that it'd happened. "yeah i'm fine. are you?" the guy doesn't look familiar to him at all, maybe it was a passing moment if he'd met him in the past but he was almost certain he'd hadn't.
percy misses them rolling their eyes, having glanced away for a moment to look at the window behind them-- glancing back at them, and smiling softly. "you don't need to apologize, were you trying to get away from mr. dullahan again?"
at the question about geal percy hums, looking up at the clock on the side table near his head-- thinking for a moment. "mmm... he might be, i'm not sure. he might already be home, though-- he's usually spending his days at the cemetery at this time of month, he likes to clean the gravestones because they get dusty." he hums softly, snuggling further down into his bed. "if you want, you can keep an eye out the back door for him-- he usually cuts through my alley around two or so if he was at the palace." he smiles apologetically, yawning.
he nods a little when kirby declines, his eyes closing-- too heavy to keep open. "sorry, i've been up for too long." it's a soft mumble, and he sighs-- forcing his eyes open again and squinting slightly. "mmm... it depends. usually it's only about half an hour with a three hour pause before he comes back through on his patrol." he thinks for a second. "but he's been around for an hour or so now, i do hope he leaves soon, though-- i keep hearing his horsie thunder pass and it keeps startling me." he knew he's be fine once he was fully asleep, otherwise having the ability to sleep through most if not all loud noises except for his alarm clock.
"if you can't get home to professor wayne's, you're always welcome to my couch-- it's a very big couch." he giggles a little. "i'm pretty sure there's still a pillow and blanket down there from when i took a nap the other day-- i haven't been here in a little while to clean up."
"yeah, came around earlier than i'm used too." even though it's not something kirby should be used to at all.
they shrugged, if geal wasn't around anymore then he wasn't there was no point in trying to go out and find him with the risk that comes with that task. "i might," kirby added shortly after percy was done speaking, really they probably won't though.
it's not like they really wanted to stay despite percys offer, if it wasn't for the fact that jack keeps circling the area they would've already been back out that window. besides kirby knew the moment october came back out he was not about to let them leave again, "if i can't then yeah sure i'll just crash on the couch till the morning i guess."
Lucas chuckled as Emmet seemed a little lost as his explanation. It wasn't the first time a customer hasn't really understood what he was talking about and it wouldn't be the last. "Don't worry about it. I'll give you a full run down of everything I do so you can have proof everything has a purpose pricing wise. I'll throw in some safe guarding for free. I know a witch who hooked me up with some warding for the base of cars, bounces those crystals right off."
emmet nodded and appreciated that lucas would give a run down of everything cause right now it was a mystery. "wait are you sure? you really don't have to throw in anything for free i can pay for it. i don't want you to use any supplies and not be able to get it back."
"You forget that when the time comes everyone deserves a chance to fight for their freedoms and rights. Humans were part of the original alliance and council and were some of the most ruthless in battle. I do however understand your hesitance." She reached for her glass, the deep red liquid not giving away if it was wine or blood. "There's chatter than we have a seelie heir living in the city. The rumours have been there for years. As a council member I spent decades squashing that kind of talk. Now I want to know if it's true. A powerful Seelie on side could help our chances."
"i have no doubt in that and that she'll join but not until she's ready. right now she'd be too much of a risk because of all the anger she still holds so it's really a precaution for everyone." zeke admitted with a slight shrug as he continued to skim the folder. "a seelie heir huh? and i'm assuming this mission is me trying figure out who and where they are?"
Flint leaned against the wall outside of the bar smoking. It wasn't the usual type of stuff you could get. Something specifically grown in the underground so the smoke swirled an interesting blue colour. As he blew out another puff of smoke he noticed a familiar face heading towards the bar. "Well look who it is. Been a second little hybrid." @stressball
kirby just wanted to go to work, do the shit they get paid to do and go home but of course flint had to be at the bar that day. they'd somehow avoided him every other time he'd come by. the last run in with flint did not end well for kirby so to say they weren't exactly excited to see the guy. "it's kirby," they muttered pushing past him to go inside, "you gonna order shit or be a pain in my ass?"
percy had ended up having to stay at his apartment that night, due to him having a big order to fill out the next morning to be ready for 9 am. he had asked october to come over after work, and the two had spent most of the night watching movies and percy cooking dinner for himself while october watched and spent some time looking at his phone and his tablet to finish the last couple of work things he had left for the next morning.
the two had ended up in the bedroom for a quick romp before percy had to go to bed so he wasn't too tired in the morning, and he was currently curled up on his mattress with his eyes closed, arms wrapped around a squishmallow, and legs feeling like jello-- listening to the sound of the shower in the next room, having sent october off to take a shower because he could still smell work on the man when the two cuddled down to go to sleep. the smell was sharp, chemical in nature, and it burned percy's nose. he had no idea how october could stand it, but he supposed that maybe october had just become used to it and just didn't notice the smell anymore.
he was dozing when he heard the sudden sound of someone coming in through his window, bolting upright and staring with wide eyes-- squishmallow held tightly against his chest, having thrown on october's shirt to sleep in. he recognizes kirby immediately, and lets out a relieved sigh-- immediately relaxing and flopping back onto the mattress.
"you scaaaared me," he whined quietly, and he heard the shower turn off abruptly-- lifting his head and looking towards the slightly ajar bathroom door. "it's okay, it's my friend!" there's silence for a moment, then a grumble before the shower turns back on again-- making percy giggle.
he hummed sleepily, cuddling back down into his bed-- voice quiet, thick with drowsiness. "mmm... yeah, mr. dullahan's been circling the block a bunch tonight-- i keep hearing him ride by. i think geal might be in the area, mr. dullahan doesn't seem to like him much." his eyes are heavy, yawning quietly-- a hand coming up to rub at his eyes. "you can hunker down here for a bit 'til mr. dullahan moves on, we don't mind." he gives them a small smile, humming again. "do you need anything to drink? are you hungry?"
of course october was over, those two were attached at the hip so seeing the door slightly open they couldn't help but roll their eyes. "sorry," kirby mumbled about scaring him. they couldn't wait to get that lecture about curfew and all the other bullshit they knew was gonna come their way, it's not like october isn't going to know it was them.
"geals around?" suddenly kirby perked up slightly, maybe they could just ask him to walk them home or something. "hm? oh nah i'm good i'm not really hungry." they sat down in a nearby chair, resting their chin in their hand against the arm rest. "how long does he normally take to leave the area?"
who: zeke and lux @luxluxluxx
zeke was out at the park to clear his head, something he started routinely doing to make sure he could stay focused on everything. was he a little stressed? of course, but it was more so for the safety of olive over everything else. honestly he was too in his head to realize there was someone laying against the tree until he tripped over their legs and almost fell. "fuck, sorry." zeke turned around and saw that the person pretty much blended into the tree and realized he probably wouldn't have seen them to begin with, "you uh, you good?"
