Intelligent alien species based on bugs but specifically those moths that don’t have mouths and only live for a week after they pupate. This species’ whole conscious life is actually in the larval phase; larvae are the ones considered people, larvae are the ones with conscious and complex brains who build society, and each instar of the larva is treated as a different phase of life. Larvae become emotionally and socially and cognitively mature without ever becoming sexually mature. When they pupate, they metamorphose into something different and strange and close to mindless, with no mouth and no digestive system, whose only instincts are to mate and then quickly die. Metamorphosis is treated, functionally, like a person’s death, and the imago phase is a kind of proto-afterlife of majestic flight and the continuation of the species. Birth and death inextricably intertwined. Sex is not something people do during their lives, it’s a thing that is done as an imago after you’ve passed on from your life but before you return to the soil in death. Resultant eggs are collected by family members to raise. I think this would be fun.

The Future Of My Artistic Journey

(spoilers: it's monsterfucking)

tl;dr: Starting work on a series of horror-centric, non-explicit, human/monster paintings. I'd love input on which creatures to work with. If you have fav creatures you'd like to see, let me know in the comments.

I've been feeling for a while that I need a bit of a new direction for my art.

I still love the Malevolent fandom, I still find it inspiring and I do want to keep on tinkering with that, but I also feel it's been a very long time since I've focused on personal original work and I've been craving it for a long while.

The recent paintings I've been doing for Malevolent made me realize that relationships between monsters and humans are something I feel very deeply about, so I want to continue exploring that, just not restricted to a given fandom.

As of yesterday, I've starting working on a series of paintings revolving around these ideas, the intersections between love, horror, worship and sexuality. I know I'm not inventing the wheel or anything, but I really love the points where these concepts collide and I suspect this is one of them famous two-cakes situations.

That being said, beyond a couple of scenes I have in mind already, (Cthulhu, I'm nothing if not predictable), I wanted to know what other monster-loving people might want to see.

I'm more focused on working with certain visual elements and concepts over specific characters in the image, so having a bit of direction for what to work on would help me a bunch, if only to figure out an order of priorities or options I may not have considered.

Animal hybrids, paranormal beings, mythological, fantasy, body horror, eldritch, aliens, I'm open to about anything. If you have a preference, just pop it in the comments!

another example of me loving boring shit is liking the idea of getting my blood sucked by a vampire but like they give me snacks and take care of me like the same as when you donate blood. and not even in a like over the top romantic vampire way where they give me some big fancy meal and have me sit on a fainting couch or something, just like normal style. or hell even like having them take my blood in a more clinical way and then drink it from a container instead of drinking it directly from me. it's like. it appeals to me because it's kinda stupid and unsexy and funny but at the same time it's like a kind of denial. and there's a kind of tension. you know here they are holding back and approaching this in this very proper friendly way but they're still drinking my blood. and you know, do they also want to just bite me, do they also just wanna get right to it, even if they're not doing that? like how much effort is it taking to suppress that? i don't know. a vampire who's a doctor and they hypnotize you in the like medical hypnosis kinda way where it's just to make it easier to draw your blood. maybe they don't even drink it in front of you. and they make a casual comment about how it smells or how if you relax it'll taste better or whatever and it's like. yea they are going to drink this. they want this thing that's in my body. i like that weird sense of intimacy in a situation that's trying not to be too intimate. you know
