sooo heres a pretty intense redraw…the left was the first drawing in my art tag that wasnt 1. a stolen design or 2. an edit and not an actual drawing. two versions because the original specifically had no shades but i thought they looked nice!

extremely self indulgent of me to ask but i love to think abt karkat and mitski’s nobody

oh man i hope this lives up to expectations, cause you seem really cool and i really fucking love your art. the whole venus stanza had me thinking about how karkat would eventually have to turn back and look at the demise of his home. how shit the caste system treated him, despite how loyal he was to the whole planet. he turned a bit of a blind eye to it all, on some level — just enough to keep himself going. to have it all gone, and to look back on it, i feel like “did its people want too much, too?” as a sort of parallel to his insistence on earth’s inferiority would be the start of his realization that staying on alternia would have resulted in his culling, or something worse. it’s like giving up an unattainable dream, but one that you’d convinced yourself you could reach.

i don’t even know if that’s coherent, but i’ll probably finish this davekat storyboard eventually. i hope. i love lyricstucks.
