Now, as for an EVIL Henry--

Well, there is one major way I could see Henry turning out evil... and that is if he decided to fully fall into Joey Drew's manipulative ways and get himself tangled into his schemes. Poor Henry would probably not see it coming as he would merely believe Joey was leading them onto greatness, and that no matter the price, anything could be done with the power of their belief.

He'd be a much more 'reluctant' evil, rather than Joey's outright egotistical and megalomaniacal evil, but still evil and selfish. He'd believe that whatever that needed to be done, it was worth it. 'The ends justify the means' and all that.

He'd be way less caring and loving for his creations, and merely see them as 'tools' on his and Joey's road to success, ordering them around like slaves and demanding them to do their job as cartoons.

❝why are you following me?❞ (Henry)

Good question! Considering that the demon hasn’t tried and kill him or drag him into the ink pools. Why is he only following him? So many pools and puddles of ink it wouldn’t be difficult for the demon to merely drag him away. It doesn’t take much to have someone drown. 

Head tilting towards the side, lines of ink dripping from his head to soon splatter on the ground as the ever present grin on his face thins. Smaller as a unseen eye stares back at him. Rolling his head with a sound of ink gurgling, trying to speak but only managing out a word. 

“ Familiar “

Henry was feeling cornered. The Demon was standing right before him, towering over him with that ever-present grin glaring right at him, ink dripping down his features. The old man felt his whole body shiver with dread... just what had Joey done here?

Wait, he was... familiar to this demon? So, at the very least... he still remembered, it seems. Henry sighs a bit, trying to calm himself down, before he speaks.

“Well-- I guess I should be familiar to you... Bendy.”

After speaking the demon’s name, he’d look straight up at him, where he felt his eyes would be located under all that dribbling ink.

“It’s... I’m... I’m Henry. Henry Stein... you remember me, Bendy?”

Boris remained holding Henry close, hearing his sobs brought a frown to his face. Her gloves hands gripped onto the back of his shirt, soon scooping him up with a grunt and cradle him like a baby. He wasn’t mad at Henry, he would never be mad at him for leaving them. He understood that he had a life outside of the animation studio, and had every right to discover a new path for himself. Boris knew someday he would return, and he did. His large hands gently rubbed his back, trying to comfort him. “Shhhh…it’s okay. It’s okay.” He whispered, his chin remained on his shoulder. He carefully picked up his glasses and inspected them. He then breathed on the lens, wiping the left over tears off before handing them back to him. “You should sleep, papa. It’s late. I’ll watch over. Don’t worry, I won’t let anyone hurt you.”

Okay, he was fairly surprised as Boris was able to scoop him up -- with some effort, granted -- and into his arms, cradling the elder man like a baby. It was... unexpected, to say the least. But still, his sobs continued. He just felt so... so powerless. He knew he had to rest, but--

He had to do something... he had to set things right...

But eventually, he’d concede, his small breakdown serving to remind him of how frail and tired his old body was. Curse aging... at least Toons did not suffer such a fate.

“... Yeah... I guess you’re right. I need rest...”

He’d reach up, gently patting Boris’ head, rubbing him behind his ears.

“... Good boy, Boris.”

His ears lowered, the side of his face stained with dry ink. There was a sad expression on the character’s face, nervously holding his gloved hands to his chest. Boris didn’t like seeing his father upset, blaming himself for something he had no control of. Even if Henry never left, Joey would have tried this with the ink machine some way without Henry knowing. Walking over to him, his arms stretched out and pulled him into an embrace. "It’s okay, Papa.” He said softly, his chin rest on his shoulder. “Don’t be sad.”

“I... I-I...”

He could not deny it any longer. He was sad. All throughout this mad rabbit hole journey he had made into the studio’s depths, around every corner and behind every crooked door... there was nothing but death and despair to be found. Ink smeared over every hallway, leaking from every pipe... ink that had turned his dreams into nightmares.

All he had wanted was to make people happy... to make them laugh... make them smile.

But now that same smile represented something infernally evil.

As soon as the elder man was embrace by Boris, the cartoon’s chin resting upon his shoulders... he’d break. Body-wracking sobs escaped him as he’d cling onto Boris, silent, but sharp and raspy breaths hiccuping from his throat as tears ran down his face, staining his glasses and dripping onto Boris’ shoulder.

He needed to rest. He has been through as much as he can take, and was on the tipping point of just crumpling apart completely.

“…Well. Then our goals are one in the same.”

Vlad still thinks he can save everyone. He believes in his heart that he can. He may be just a kid, but he’s nearing the age where he’ll be consdiered a man, and even then there has to be something even a kid like him can do. 

“How about you an I… work together?”

Well... he had not expected to hear that anytime soon.

But he was all for it. It seems as if even if Vlad was Bendy’s nephew, if his claims to the demon being his ‘uncle’ were true, at least he could see where the issues laid. He hadn’t attacked him, even if he had been associated with Joey Drew in the past. He didn’t judge him for having been associated with him, none of that. And he could tell Henry was absolutely not lying about anything.

Why would he? All he had wanted his whole life was to make people happy. And now, with his desire perversed and demonized -- quite literally -- he was distraught and scared, locked within a lion’s den of his nightmares come to life. But hey-- at least there was one being here who wanted to work with him now.

“... Yes. Yes, I think that’d work brilliantly. If... you’re alright having to deal with an old man like myself. Don’t worry though, I’m not as frail as you’d think. The army will do that to you.”

A weak chuckle escapes him, before he’d reach up, and hesitantly-- yet eventually, gave the hound a pat on the head. He’d withdraw his hand if Vlad did not appreciate it, of course.

“You and I, Vladimir... we’ll set things right. I hope...”

Dr. Mundo, The Madman of Zaun

[Just figured I'd post some music that makes me think of Henry, alone and scared out of his wits, trying to navigate and survive the depths of Joey Drew Studios. What do you guys think?]

Vlad slowly approaches Henry, gently taking his hand and helping him to his feet. 

“Please. There’s no need for this. You didn’t do anything wrong…. You just wanted to make my uncle so you could make people laugh and smile. Joey was the one who hurt you, took advantage of your kindness and turned your good intentions into… this. It’s okay. You’re just another victim in this. Just like my family…. just like me…” 

Vlad lets out a small whine, looking to the ground. 

“You don’t need to be forgiven… You just need to heal.”

Henry was a bit surprised as Vlad took his hand, and helped him up on his feet again. His hand... it felt so warm. Just like that of a human’s. Not at all cold or... ink-like, like the way he felt when one of the Searchers had hit him, or dripped onto him. Vlad felt so much more... alive.

Still, though... even with Vlad’s kind words, Henry was still shaken up and upset, feeling like he had still been one of the factors that had lead to all of this. He was the one who went off on Joey in retaliation to his harsh words. What if he had spurned Joey on into further insanity--?

Regardless, he’d push those thoughts aside, as he’d sigh and put a hand on Vlad’s shoulder.

“I know... I just need to heal. But I can’t feel ‘healed’ until all of this is stopped. Until I get to the bottom of whatever is causing all of this, and destroy it. So that you all can feel better... so Bendy can feel better...”

Walks behind Henry and gives him a big hug. "....."

"Ah--"

Henry let out a rather meek, uncharacteristic gasp from the big hug he received from the larger toon, but all in all... it was one he sorely needed in these times. For all he did was sigh and lean into Boris' embrace.

"... Thanks, Boris."

Though he does not deliberate of the faraway yet familiar voice that summons for him, the former name of what he once was scattered from the other man’s lips has him pause. Astonishment is permitted to slip- but only for a second, for the mask embraces a face of an old musician long gone; The prophet is all that is left of him.

             “Sammy… Sammy Lawrence, yes…yes, that’s my name.”

Whispered declarations of curiosity contaminated in blocked memories, eyes of no human carve into the sheep in a stern, searching gaze; amused or bemused? It’s hard to say.

                            “ How do you know my name ? “

Henry would shift a bit in his restraints, feeling his wrists getting numb, along with his hands. But he could not do much. He was at Sammy’s mercy right now... or well, what seemed to be left of ‘Sammy’. It was as if he was a whole other person. He’d just look incredulously at Sammy’s face.

“S-Sammy... c’mon, don’t you remember?! It’s me! Henry! Henry Stein! The guy Joey hired to draw Bendy!”

“It’s me, Sammy! Don’t you recognize me?!”

Vlad is taken aback by what laid before his eyes. These… were the finalized sketches of his uncle. The first step in what would spiral into a series of tragedies of unimaginable horrors. It all started with him… and it wasn’t even his fault. Vlad couldn’t imagine being in Henry’s shoes… His dream twisted into a nightmare by one person…

“…Joey Drew, Right?”

As Vlad spoke out Joey’s name, all Henry could do in answer was to nod, his eyes still fixated on all of his sketches of Bendy.

“... Yes. Joey Drew. All of this... all of this because he grew so obsessed with my cartoon... my creation...”

He’d then look up to Vlad. The hound could clearly see in his eyes, misty of suppressed tears, just how much regret he harbored for this. How much genuine, heart-broken regret he had for all of his dreams and ambitions going wrong. And as Henry looked upon Vlad, realizing from earlier how he had referred to Bendy as his ‘uncle’... something in him broke.

He’d slowly slide off of his seat, onto the floor... and then, on his hands and knees, begged of Vlad--

 “Please... forgive me... all of this, all of these nightmares... all the suffering people here must’ve had to endure... I recognize I’ve had a hand in it, whether I’d intended it or not. Please... can you forgive me?”

“It’s… certainly something.”

Vlad had remind himself that living toons walking around isn’t exactly something that humans were… used to. Especially the offspring of cartoons you yourself created over 30 years ago. 

Vlad catches the pause and his ears droop. Looks like the subject of his uncle was a bit of a sore spot for Mr. Stein. Not that it surprised the teenage hound, Bendy tends to have that effect on others…

“Is it a blessing or a curse…?”

Vlad seems to ask himself that every day…

He knew he shouldn’t have brought up the ink demon... he was feeling his mood sinking like a stone, as he’d sit upright, before slouching back against the wall behind him. He dug around in his coat, before he’d pull out a notepad, where all of his previous scribbles and notes had been. Still with him, 30 years from then...

He’d begin to flip the pages, until he’d come across the very first, ‘finalized’ sketch he had made of Bendy... he remembered how Joey was praising him through the roof for his talent with cartoons, how they were going to make it big!

... And now that man had perversed the one thing that he still held precious and dear, unlike anything else.

“... It’s... a bit of both.”

Was his answer, finally, as he’d elaborate--

“It’s... really a blessing. It should be a blessing, and only that. Bendy, he... he was something I was so proud over. That I had created with my own two hands. And all I wanted for Bendy was to make people smile and cheer along with his dancing and antics.”

“But now... now it’s all been fucked up, by one person...”

Starter Call!

((Yeah, surprise surprise! I’ve got some of my BATIM muse back, so if anyone wants to have a starter from Henry & Crew, like this post! And specify which of my muses you’d like as well!))

FOR MULTIMUSES: which muse would you say is the best and the worst at cooking and / or baking?

//Ooh, now this is an interesting one! Alright, I'll try and do this in order of my muses, from best to worst--

1. Alice Angel

I honestly think that out of my little group of toons 'n men, Alice is the best cook, hands down. Or, at the very least, when it comes to pastries and other sweetbread, she is unparalleled. All of her baked goods are made with a delicate 'angel's touch', or so she says. Honest though, she is just really good at it. But I can see her being good at cooking in general.

2. Henry Stein

Even if he's had his fair share of ready-meals and army rations to taint his sense of 'good food', Henry is a surprisingly good cook. He knows the basics of most meals, and knows how to improvise with his own homeland touches.

3. Shawn Flynn

Shawn is surprisingly decent at making food, even if he's survived on nothing but coffee for a good amount of his life. He does not brag about it, or even talk about it in-general, but his mum has taught him a dang good Guinness Stew recipe that he's shared once or twice with his co-workers.

4. Bendy

He is decent at cooking, but unfortunately all he knows for 'sustenance' is Bacon Soup and ink. He HAS helped Alice make a cake or two, though.

5. Boris

He has tried to make food a few times, but it often ends with him either burning it, or fumbling up so the food ends up on the floor. He tries though!

“Well… Technically it wasn’t Mr. Drew that brought me to life.”

At least that’s how his father explained it. Honestly could he even put it into words how he and his sister were created? 

“…My parents were made by Mr. Drew. But they wanted to find if there was a way to free someone from the clutches of ‘the ink.’ Well, one experimentation with the ink machine later, my father made my sister and I with a blind of his ink and my… other parents’.”

Well that technically wasn’t a lie…

“Right, right... well, still, I had no idea that somehow... cartoons were being brought to life. It’s... unbelievable, I’d say, but I’m clearly seeing, and believing...”

Henry now took a bit of a more closer look at Vlad, just now having the time to actually study a living cartoon... he was obviously made out of the ink that was being pumped all throughout the station, that was clear. So... was it just this ‘special’ ink that Vlad talked about? Or was there more to it...

“... This is... truly unlike anything I’ve seen before. And the fact that Bendy was brought to life, too...”

However, he paused himself as he mentioned the ink demon’s name again. He’d let out a sigh. He wasn’t saying anything, but Vlad could tell that the old human was upset with something related to Bendy.

Oh, the motherfucker really doesn’t know when to shut up, does he?! One one hand, Bendy figured that he could’ve been civil. That he could’ve allowed that old man to talk, at least now that he still had the strenght to do it.

But on the other… the more Henry spoke, the more the Demon felt like tearing him apart. Perhaps for nothing but the hint of betrayal and confusion, perhaps because of hid disrespect, perhaps just because in the few minutes he spent with that guy he found out he didn’t like him very much. The Studio wasn’t made for infedels, after all. They didn’t deserve salvation.

They – and this man in particular, actually, were nothing but dead men walking.

“YOU CAN RUN, LITTLE SHEEP, BUT YOU CAN’T HIDE ANYMORE!” Bendy laughed, getting on all four before trying to pounce the man and giving chase, splattering and creating ink around the floor and the walls as they moved between the corridors. At least make it fun, Henry Stein.

Shitshitshitshitshitshit--

Now he had really gone and done it, hadn’t he! Now he had a nightmarish ink demon in the vague form of his own creation chasing him, and even if he sort of knew his way around here, he had no idea where to go to be ‘safe’. But he had to try and find something! Maybe he could try and use one of those closets he had used before... but the demon was hot on his heels, he’d see him duck in.

Taking a sharp turn into another hallway, he’d push himself off the wall as he’d run down the halls, wood creaking and pipes groaning from pressure of both ink and-- wait, steam. Maybe he could--

Clutching his axe tightly, his knuckles almost turning white from how hard he’d clutch it, he’d momentarily spin around to face the pursuing demon... before he’d swing the axe with all his might. Not at Bendy, no. But at some overhead pipes that were already hissing with steam from one of the rusted holes, as he’d aim to smash it wide open and release a violent spray of super-hot steam at the ink demon, before he’d resume running!

A small delay, but he’d need all the time he could buy.

Henry- The familiar man, tied up and bound to a pole; the eyes of a prophet land on him to see that he is no longer the unconscious body he had to move all the way here, but then what else does he see? Nothing! It’s familiar, he’s familiar, but all remembrances of who he once had all been burned to the ground; along with his life.

                                       “You’re awake…”

“N-Nhh... w-what... where--”

Henry groans as he recovers from the rather crude bludgeoning hit to the back of his head he received earlier. He was not sure where he was, but he sure as hell wasn’t in the musical studio any longer. No, instead he was tied to a pole, hands behind his back, and as he’d look up he’d see...

“Who-- Who are y--”

Wait, that voice... he tried his darnedest to remember it, if only slightly. But then--

“W-Wait... S-Sammy? Sammy Lawrence? Good... God. What’s happened to you?”
