reducing anxiety when studying
Hi, itâs werelivingarts, and itâs officially the AP mock season in my high school. Even though my high school just returned back from spring break, we started to face a huge amount of anxiety and stress due to assignments and tests.Â
Here are just some ways that I use to cope with anxiety that save me from having a mental breakdown while studying UwU!

Four rules for a disciplined life
(Credit to reddit user ryans01).
No zero days. âWhatâs a zero day? A zero day is when you donât do a single fucking thing towards whatever dream or goal or want or whatever that you got going on. No more zeros. Iâm not saying you gotta bust an essay out everyday, thatâs not the point. The point Iâm trying to make is that you have to make yourself, promise yourself, that the new SYSTEM you live in is a NON-ZERO system. Didnât do anything all fucking day and itâs 11:58 PM? Write one sentence. One pushup. Read one page of that chapter. One. Because one is non zero.â
Be grateful to the three yous. âThereâs the past you, the present you, and the future you. If you wanna love someone and have someone love you back, you gotta learn to love yourself, and the 3 youâs are the key. Be GRATEFUL to the past you for the positive things youâve done. And do favours for the future you like you would for your best bro.â
Forgive yourself. âMaybe you got all the know-how, money, ability, strength and talent to do whatever is you wanna do. But lets say you still didnât do it. Now youâre giving yourself shit for not doing what you need to, to be who you want to. Heads up champion, being disappointed in yourself causes you to be less productive. Tried your best to have a nonzero day yesterday and it failed? So what. I forgive you, previous self. I forgive you. But today? Today is a nonzero masterpiece to the best of my ability for future self. This oneâs for you, future homes. Forgiveness man, use it. I forgive you. Say it out loud.â
Exercise and books. âPretty standard advice but when you exercise daily you actually get smarter. When you exercise you get high from endorphins (thanks body). When you exercise you clear your mind. When you exercise you are doing your future self a huge favour. Exercise is a leg on a three legged stool. Feel me? As for books, almost every fucking thing weâve all ever thought of, or felt, or gone through, or wanted, or wanted to know how to do, or whatever, has been figured out by someone else. Get some books.âÂ
My friend linked this to me on reddit when I was feeling really down and it changed me. Excellent advice!
Small rant post, sadly no timelapse.
So Iâm in a group chat with the other members of early college attendees. Everyone seems so formal and stiff so I wanted to actually make a friend to survive classes together. I simply asked if anyone watched anime bc then Iâd be super excited to have a friend or maybe two. THEY ALL LEFT ME ON READ (âŻ_âŻ)
I really hope I find just one or two friends and have a somewhat decent roommate at this point. . .
Edit: soon after posting this a package came and I opened it. My mom ordered me a 36 gel pen pack. (it was on sale!)
I donât need friends just my mom <3
i love my mom so much<3

Self-reflection can be a good thing, looking at yourself and noticing the things youâre good at the ones youâre not and utilizing that to figuring out how you might better yourself. It is not the same as self-criticism which can easily lead to putting yourself down. Reflect, donât criticize.
Hey did you know I keep a google drive folder with linguistics and language books  that I try to update regularlyÂ
**UPDATE**
I have restructured the folders to make them easier to use and managed to add almost all languages requested and then some
Please let me know any further suggestions
I could not be more thrilled that this includes some native Australian languages too

Guys, I have outdone myself. I opened my notes from a lecture, and the only thing there is: â???â .Â
But to be honest, it does summarise the lecture. Â
Okay, so youâve been called smart all your life. As a kid, you were one of the smartest in your class. Maybe you could read at a much higher level than your peers, or you could fly through multiplication drills like they were nothing. Then, you get to high school and suddenly youâre surrounded by lots of people who were âgifted kidsâ. None of what made you âspecialâ seems all that important now. Your work is actually challenging, and itâs actually requiring effort.
If youâre experiencing this, just know that so many students have gone through the same thing. Maybe it happens in high school, maybe college. But a lot of us who were considered gifted as kids suddenly run into this and it challenges our entire identity. It can be paralyzing, but itâs 100% possible to overcome it and succeed! Iâve compiled a few tips for ex-gifted kids dealing with impostor syndrome and self-doubt. Iâm not a therapist, psychologist, or any sort of education expert. Iâm just speaking to my own experiences, and I welcome any input from others who have insight into this as well!
1. Understand that working hard does not mean you arenât intelligent. If something doesnât come naturally to you, thatâs not a reason to give up. Believing that people can do things âjust because they were born with a talent for itâ is only going to hurt you. Itâs not true! People may have natural aptitudes for things, but hard work is involved even for the smartest or most talented people. You are capable of learning anything, and you donât have to be âgood at itâ right away to do so.
2. Comparison will kill you. You are your only competition. Focusing on how you rank with other students, and comparing yourself to your classmates is going to exhaust you. By focusing on others, you canât put your full energy into focusing on your work and yourself. You belong. Even if you struggle with your work, you belong. Focus on your own self-improvement and doing your best.
3. Donât focus on the goal, focus on your current actions. If youâre always thinking about the future, and about whether youâll get into that school or that program or win that award or get that scholarship, youâre not using that time to get work done. Donât worry about college applications, just do your homework. Focus on what you are doing now to reach your goals so you can apply to schools with confidence later.
4. Your grades may not reflect intelligence, but they do reflect work ethic. Donât let others convince you that grades mean nothing. They sure as hell mean a lot to colleges, and thinking that you should âreject the current education systemâ is not going to harm anyone but yourself. If you donât feel like youâre learning anything in your high school classes, thatâs all the more reason to want to get into a university that will challenge you. If you put effort into your work, it will not let you down. Your hard work will be reflected on your transcript. Donât lose focus.
5. Talk to someone. Let people know if youâre struggling. It can be hard to feel like you arenât allowed to identify as âsmartâ or to feel pressure to constantly compete and improve. I went to a highly competitive high school that pushed kids to cope in dangerous ways. This is not healthy and not okay. If youâre feeling overwhelmed you need to find healthy coping mechanisms. Speak with someone you trust and donât let yourself spiral. Donât try to self medicate. Your well being is always more important than your grades. Period.
6. Enjoy yourself. School may seem like hell, and you may feel like it will never end and youâll always be stressed and worried. But high school is only four years, and you can do things during that time that you probably wonât ever again. Take advantage of things that seem fun, even if people think theyâre nerdy or weird. Try and remind yourself that youâre lucky to have your education and you have the power to do great things with it. Donât lose sight of your own ability and your bright future!

02.13.21 | good morning!! âïž from now on Iâll share random medical stuff in my posts since itâs exhausting to think of advices everytime đ anyhow I just took my IPD exam. I donât want to sleep because I have endless backlogs to catch up with today. currently drinking my triple shot espresso leftover from last night đ
random medical stuff today:
during palpation of the abdomen, one should ask if the patient is feeling any abdominal pain so it would be palpated last and wonât alter the result of the other quadrants. every pain suggests different conditions such as the ff:
đȘŽ right upper quadrant or epigastric pain might stem from biliary tree and liver
đ epigastric pain might stem from stomach, duodenum, or pancreas
đ periumbilical pain might stem from small intestine, appendix, or proximal colon
đ hypogastric pain might stem from colon, bladder, or uterus
these are important so we know what we should examine more and what techniques to use. âš
02.14.21 // This one moment when you know youâre not a sad story. You forget about wishing of dying earlier this morning. You are alive. Youâre not just existing. And you open your dadâs car windows and see the city lights on the bridge; you feel the summer air on your face, your hair is blowing in the air and you think about everything that makes you remind of your friend. And youâre listening to her favourite song the one that stops time when she listens to it, and that drive even without the people who you love most in this world makes it better with the thought of the moment when youâll feel infinite by recreating the tunnel scene with your loved ones. Have you ever felt infinite? Send me an ask about it âĄ
love it!!
