Youâre good â€ïž
So today I turned 22, and I thought that I want to share a piece of advice with you. Iâve just finished my 1st year of pedagogy and psychology, and all of my old highschool classmates have finished their last 3rd year. Being âbehindâ was my biggest struggle for a long time. Iâve started university life at the same time as them, studying smth that wasnât my dream because Iâve thought that I am not good enough. After 6 months I have dropped it. Then Iâve started another course, and it was okay, still not my dream, but better. After 1 year I have dropped it. Pedagogy and psychology was my third try and my dream. And finally, I am truly happy.
So Iâm here to tell you what I needed (and heard while asking @bright-goals for advice - I donât remember but it was probably on anon. Thank you so much, sweetie, you helped me and I canât even tell you how much). Youâre good and itâs okay. No matter at what age you find your calling, no matter after how many attempts. No matter if youâre 9, 18, 22, 45 or 60. You canât measure your life with âthe typical age when others do smthâ. I mostly study with people 2 years younger than me which makes me a mum of the group. And I was ashamed for such a long time for so many reasons. Because I was older, not finishing when people my age, coming back to my little city and university here (and I studied in Wales, abroad. Thatâs always such a big deal for others and coming back made me feel degraded), starting again over and over.
I kinda think that there are more people here that need to hear it. Everybody needs to hear it. YOU ARE GOOD. Start doing whatever you want. Get that degree, be the youngest/oldest in some club you wanted to join, start over if you need it. You donât need to suffer because you have chosen smth you hate. You donât need to stop yourself because you think youâre too old/young.
YOU ARE GOOD AND ENOUGH. Youâre the mini version of the world, so go and make a difference. Even if the difference is just inside of you. Just do stuff that makes you happy and be the best version of yourself you can be. Because now everyone wants to fix the world and be the change. But itâs okay if you only fix yourself.
I know it may sound like a ramble, but I just wanted to tell you all that youâre good. Because I was struggling and I still am. But I am better, and maybe just one person will read it and feel better as well. Because I am here. And I am struggling. But I am good, and you are good too â€ïž
