I’m not exactly a “new” studyblr, but seeing @alcyonien‘s introduction post (welcome back Jo!!), I realised nothing is too late to try!
My name is Akiko Hadassah and people either call me by my first name or by my middle name. I am 18 I can vote now yay and I am a Filipino-Japanese. This is my second year in IB (subjects are listed HERE) and I will sit for my exams this coming November. Although I’ve been to a Japanese school since nursery school, I can express myself better in English for a reason I’m not certain of. I currently attend a Japanese based international school which means I have to take additional classes aside from IB.
My reasons for taking IB are quite simple and perhaps odd: I wanted to run away from the Japanese education system, I didn’t want to sit for the Centre Exams, I wanted to “feel” like I’m learning.
I enjoy most of my IB subjects, but I find it really hard to motivate myself when it comes to studying for world history because it’s offered in a Japanese style class.
I love cats, animals in general, reading, photography, playing instruments, learning impractical useless skills, learning useful skills too of course, and listening to music. My favourite artists are mostly dead: Mozart, Gershwin, Shostakovich, Faure, Debussy, Chopin, Liszt, Bach, etc. But Bel Suono and Mnozil Brass aren’t dead!
My IAs are mostly due by next week, but here I am writing an introduction about myself, which tells you that I’m a procrastinator💁🏻✨
