I. HATE. BIOCHEMISTRY.
Iām so frustrated with myself; like why do i not understand this? Iām ridiculously good in organic chemistry, but why is this shit so hard?? Iāve come this far, and this class is making me just curl up into a ball and give up. And itās only been 2 weeks since classes started. ASHDFAFSDK.
Maybe this certain class isn't for you. Is it possible that you could drop it?
everyone is starting to go back to school and this can sometimes be very stressful, especially if youāre going to be sitting important exams and such. soooo I thought Iād give y'all some tips on how to make school more enjoyable!!
1. Get organised.
before going back to school, make a list of everything that you need to do and get
if your course is a continuation of the previous year, look over your notes to refresh your memory before going back, even try old homework exercises to test what you know
if you are starting a new course, you could look up theĀ syllabusĀ online to see what topics you will be covering, and you could even start taking notes (bbc bite size is great for those living in the UK)
buying your textbook before school starts also gives you a chance to look ahead at what you will be studying
2. Establish a good group of friends.
having good friends to talk to and laugh with at break and lunch really lifts my spirits during the school day
even if you already have a group of friends, itās always a good idea to talk to and get to know more people
the best thing that you can do is be smiley and kind and this will make you approachable
remember that a few genuine friends > lots of popular friends
3. Participate.
Ā put your hand up in lessons, get involved in class discussions, anything that you can participate in-Ā go for itĀ
Ā you might also want to join extra curricular clubs after school, not only are they good for your PS, but they also bring great opportunities such as improving a skill, the chance to take part in competitions and to meet new people
4. Have a study routine.
get into a routine of doing homework and studying after school as soon as school starts back, so that you can continue to keep on top of your studies
it also means that when exams come around, you wonāt have as much to study and studying wonāt seem as big of a task
try a weekend review: this is where at some point during the weekend you look back on and review everything you covered at school during the week
5. Be grateful.
although school isnāt always fun, and can be really stressful at times, just remember how lucky you are that you have the opportunity to get an education
an education opens up doors for your future and allows you to achieve your goals
when youāre lacking motivation, try making a list of reasons why going to school is beneficial
6. Make time for relaxing.
its is really important to have a healthy balance between studying and relaxing/ doing things that you love.Ā
try to put aside at least 1 hour each day in which you can chill out. You may want to spend time with your friends/ family, read, have a long bath, sleep, play sports or anything that you enjoy.
7. Study subjects that interest you.
studying for a subject that you like is 10x better than studying for one you dislike
youāll have more motivation to study, do your homework and put more effort in to your work
it will also lower your stress levels and boredom during lessons and when studying
8. Eat good food. (most important thing tbh)
I cannot even tell you how many times Iāve had a bad lunch and it ended up lowering my mood for the rest of the school day!Ā
make sure that your lunch is sufficiently filling and healthy
my favourite thing to have for lunch is a type of pasta, with fruit, salad and a bar of chocolate/ something sweet
itās also good to stay hydrated throughout the day. Try to drink at least one large bottle of water during school
eating well and staying hydrated keeps you refreshed and awake, making it easier to focus in class and less likely to get tired and bored
hope this helps for going back to school, u can do it!!

OKAY GUYS I DONāT KNOW IF THIS HAS BEEN DONE BUT I NEED TO TALK ABOUT BILINGUIS. yaāll, this site is amazing. itās a site of free, public-domain bilingual books. and there are SO MANY LANGUAGES. itās not just french and spanish, but also dutch, mandarin, ukrainian, esperanto and way more. there are only five books but they are all classics and they are all amazing!Ā
see that? thatās Alice in Wonderland in Esperanto and English. AND IT GETS BETTER. in certain languages, YOU CAN PLAY THE AUDIOBOOK ALONG WITH IT AS YOU READ. itās also worth noting that you donāt have to have it in english and another language. you can have it in any two of the languages offered.Ā

Ā How to Stay Healthy at College?
Many of us fitblrs are broke, college students and one thing we struggle with is balancing our school work, a social life, and a healthy lifestyle. What are some ways to make this work?
It can be tough but it definitely is manageable! College is the time when you are finally out on your own, free to make your own decisions and your own rules. Living a healthy lifestyle in college does not have to be hard though and it does not require hours of preparation! The main key is to key a fairly consistent schedule! Get into the habit of making certain meals on a certain night of the week, going grocery shopping, etc.
How to eat healthy while at college:
Keep lots of things prepared. I usually make pasta on Mondays (since I donāt have late classes that day), I buy bags of veggies that are microwavable, I have apples & PB, which make a quick&easy snack, I have chips & salsa for another quick and easy snack, etc. Find foods that are easy for you and donāt require a lot of preparation!
Pack little bags or containers of snack the night before. This way when you are running late to class the next morning you can grab one and go!Ā
Keep a budget. Since many of us do not have a ton of extra money, limit yourself each week. I have a set grocery list and it is typically $50 per week. I get lots of fresh fruit and veggies, peanut butter, spaghetti and spaghetti sauce(which is the cheapest meal ever), and some snacks.
Limit yourself to eating out a few times a week. Donāt go out too often, it is cheaper and healthier to cook for yourself! Instead invite your friends to come over and cook a healthy dinner! You can make it fun!
Find healthy options for when you do go out. There is almost always a salad, a veggie side, whole wheat options, etc. Even if you just switch the fries for veggies and keep your normal meal the same that is still a healthier option!
Go for water. Wherever you are get a water. Skip the soda or whatever else. Water is the best option there is! I always have at least one of my camelbacks with me! Make a habit of taking water with you!
How to keep up with exercise:
Walk. A simple way to get in your daily exercise is to walk! Walk around campus between classes and walk to your class! That is a great way to get in some easy exercise!
Go to the gym! Most colleges have a gym- take advantage of this and GO! You get a free membership (covered in your tuition) and tons of free classes! My gym has tons of different sports going on, equipment, and classes! There is always something for everyone!Ā
Fit it into your schedule. If you are a morning person or you donāt have classes until the afternoon then go before class! If you prefer your workouts between or after classes then go then! Make it part of your daily routine though! You will be more likely to stick to it!
Find a workout buddy! This will not only help you to keep up a social life but it will also motivate you to go to the gym! It is easier to tell yourself you are too lazy to go to the gym but when someone is planning to go with you you feel more guilty if you say no simply because you donāt want to!
How to keep up your education:
Find a study buddy! You can study together and work on homework together! Sometimes it can be more distracting but other times it can be motivating!
Go to class and do your homework!
Find a tutor or talk to your teacher if you need help!
How to maintain a social life:
Get involved! Figure out which clubs you want to join and join a few! Not too many because it is better to be highly involved in a few groups rather than not too involved in tons of groups. Organizations are a great way to meet people with similar interests as you!
Find your group of friends. This can be one person or 20 people. Whoever you want and like but make sure they are good friends to you and stick with the ones who stand by your side through everything! You may not be close with your roommates but you can meet people anywhere! There are so many opportunities in college!
If you arenāt into partying donāt worry! Like I said before- find your group of friends! If they are into partying then look for a few others who arenāt and hang out with them on the weekends! Go shopping, have a movie night, something low key and enjoyable!Ā
How to stay sane in college:
College can be a stressful time and it can be hard for many people. If you are struggling I urge you to seek help! Many colleges offer free counseling if you need to go and talk to someone! If you are struggling talk to a counselor, a friend, or anyone you trust.
Be involved. Being involved helps you to stay active and not cut yourself out of society and let yourself fall into depression. It is hard being away from everything and everyone you know. But you cannot let yourself be alone during this transition! Everyone is going through the same thing and looking for friends as well! Get through this time together!
If college is stressful or the workload is too much then consider taking fewer credits! It is better for you to feel organized and understand what you are learning, rather than BSing your way through college for grades. The knowledge you gain will be very important in your career.
Get a agenda/planner and organize your weeks. Help yourself figure out what you need to do and when so you donāt get stressed or overwhelmed last minute when you have so much piled up to do!
Set time aside to do something you love everyday! Remember to have fun!
College is a great time! Remember to make the best of it! Have fun, do well, stay safe, enjoy yourself, and live your life!

land of the free, home of the racist
I see some people are like clapping at this set of pictures here.
I havenāt even seen this season yet⦠and spoilers on Tumblr (which I canāt see to control this season around) made me dodge this more than usual⦠but letās talk about this.
There are the writers of that show. Notice anything⦠off? Also, noticed how the scene was written⦠which is also kind of off in a way (Black people calling each other out just to put thatĀ ānotionā to rest.)Ā
Now, I have stated thatĀ āBlack people and PoCs can be racist⦠but to other Black people and PoCsā in this video right here.Ā
In short, Black people and PoCs can be racist. We just canāt get racist to the āmajorityā because we donāt have the institutional power⦠unless we use that institutional power against other People of Color.Ā
So yeah, you can āclap the hell out of thisā scene if you want, but I want to keep these two little facts in mind while yāall celebrate whateverĀ āvictoryā this supposes to mean.
I donāt watch Orange is the New Black (because my TV schedule is too full and we all have to make choices) so I donāt know the context of this conversation.Ā As such, when I saw those screencaps posted by a Very White Gay with some caption akin to āThis is what Iāve been trying to say,ā I didnāt really step into that conversation.Ā I donāt know him, heās a friend of a friend, and I donāt watch the show so Iād be stepping into a conversation where I didnāt have all of the background to support my annoyance.
But this is my blog and I donāt need to know the show to know that white people who stay trying to refer to prejudice against white folks asĀ āracismā donāt really have a grasp on what racism truly means outside of a one-line definition they can google.
The idea behind that āconversationā doesnāt bother so much as the the fact that white people will outright ignore the scope as if āracismā against white people has the same effect as racism against non-white people.Ā If we are going to use Merriam-Webster as our guide ā and remember, input for dictionaries and reference books overwhelmingly comes from white people ā then racism is basically just prejudice against another race.Ā But when brown folks say something is racist, itās more than just āyou hurt my feelings.āĀ Itās part of a greater narrative of oppression.Ā When white people say something is racist against them, itās āyou hurt my feelings and thatās wrong.āĀ Yes, itās wrongā¦but crying your white tears into my struggle is diluting the meaning of racism and the greater intention behind it when we say it.Ā Ā
Language changes and evolves, and Iām not really here for white folks who want to use the world āracismā in relation to prejudice against themselves and the hurt feelings that arise as a result, because thatās not in the same league as the racism experienced by brown folks, which is the underlying foundation of income inequality, police brutality, housing disparity, voter disenfranchisement, etc. Ā The dictionary has not caught up to real life. Ā White people who useĀ āracismā to describe prejudice against white people are technically right ā according to the dictionary ā but no white person who actually has racial equality in mind, who actually pays attention to the world around them, who actually understands the effects of racism on non-white people would dare fight to use the wordĀ āracismā to describe that time they got called a cracker on the playground at recess.
And thatās how I know that Very White Gay friend of a friend aināt shit and Iām glad I didnāt even bother to entertain that conversation. Ā He aināt here to understand nuance ā he just wants to be right andĀ āproveā that heās a victim too.
Oh and since weāre here, lemme drop this picture of the entire writerās room:
Not a Black person in the bunch but they want to write conversations between Black folks about what racism is and isnāt? Ā Okayā¦
Keep it simple. Ā If thereās no power with your āracism,ā then itās just prejudice and hurt feelings.
getting inspired to draw but nothing comes out right
