Food galore
For breakfast, I had "laswa" which is an Ilonggo soup made with shrimps and vegetables. Some coffee. Hotdogs, and blue rice. And no it is not food coloring, it is a flower called Clitoria Ternatia that is smashed and mixed to the rice. The flower reduces stress, depression, enhace memory and has anti cancer agents.
For lunch, uga. In Tagalog, tuyo. In english, fried fish. This fish is mouth watering, so good. Best partnered with scrambled egg, pancit and rice.
For dinner, Chicken inasal, fried rice, batchoy. For dessert, my tita Julia's famous pudding. Kaon ta!
Grandpa Mol
The reason why I came here, is to visit my grandfather. It has been one year since he passed away, and I missed him. His friends and our relatives went to our house to have a small get together. When I was young he used to introduce me to his friends. He was very famous in our city. When I went home from school, I'd ride a motorcycle and just tell the driver "Romulo's house" and they already know where they would drop me. I miss his tickles and laugh so much. I love you Grandpa.
Silay at night
Here are some pictures I took on August 11th. The famous museum, Balay Negrense. San Diego Pro-Cathedral, City Hall, and Chicken inasal.
Silay, Negros Occidental
My hometown. I grew up here for 7 years and learned the Ilonggo language. I've always been in love with the smiles of everyone. They are so surprisingly helpful and accommodating. The contrast of city life and the province life. All I get are the breeze of the wind, no bus horns, no blares of cars, just grass beneath my feet, crows of the roosters that greet me in the morning and that instagram-able view.
