Daily Izaya #28
Shizuo's a saint. That man has patience. He knows his strength. He fears his strength. He fears he might hurt someone for real. So he holds back at all times.
Even with Izaya.
Especially with Izaya.
Because all of their fights are started by Izaya.
That knife of his is their green light.
No matter if Shizuo goes to Izaya. He will start their verbal battle, the accusation, the questioning but he won't throw the punch until Izaya escalates it in some way, shape or form.
Shizuo will not break down Izaya's door but he will push the doorbell until his finger bleeds and he will listen to Izaya's taunts until he is sure this is the final moment they've been waiting for and he says his goodbye because that's what Izaya wants.
He wasn't always like this, of course, he was more reactive when he was younger, quicker to chase Izaya, quicker to throw the first punch.
He learnt the game as the years passed.
I love to think about their patterns like this.
Izaya has more of a leash on Shizuo's temper than Shizuo has anything on Izaya. I guess Izaya's fear of Shizuo is really just living in his head rent free. That's something to think about.
this chatgpt ass post im crying. can't even take criticism on a blatantly incorrect take... in what world is shizuo a saint? like genuinely asking what durarara did you watch cause it could not have been the same one i saw 💀
Q: Narita-Sensei, good day. I’m always enjoying your works. I suddenly thought of this, but what department in college was Izaya-san a part of? It was said he studied at university, but I cannot quite imagine [what he studied], so I am really interested.
A: I think something near cultural anthropology or psychology.
Q: Narita-Sensei, I have a question! What is Izaya-san’s favorite beverage? Is it coffee?
A: If it’s something a person made, I think he mostly likes even coffee, black tea, green tea, or water.
Q: Narita-san!! Hereafter in SH, do you have any plans for Kida-kun to appear??
A: Well, Mikado and Anri have appeared, so if only Masaomi doesn’t appear it would be lonely, wouldn’t it…! And I will only leave this as an answer. w
Q: Narita-Sensei, sorry for the sudden question. The Durarara character Walker Yuumasaki - he is half Japanese and what other half?
A: Hahaha…It’s a secret for now….! Please have fun and guess…!
(Just rambling to myself because I found this interesting. Don’t mind me.)
I’m trying to figure out the wording on the question about Izaya’s favorite drinks.
“If it’s something a person made “
Does that mean manmade beverages? Simply something that was made FOR him specifically by someone??
“If it’s something a person made” as in “a beverage prepared/served/brewed by someone for him.” Basically, Izaya is fine with any beverage as long as it is brewed by his beloved ‘people.’ In this sense, he probably doesn’t prefer the pre-made drinks.

Durarara fans writing Izaya: "he smirked EVILY as he thought EVILY about his EVIL VILLAINOUS plans"
The actual, literal novel:
"Izaya Orihara was an ordinary human being. He did not wield extraordinary violence to evil ends and neither was he the kind of cold-minded killer who ended human life without compunction. It was simply that he possessed both the greedy desire of a normal human being and the personal momentum to violate taboos if they stood in his way at the same time. He was not some charismatic mad villain, he just lived true to his interests."
